Remote cultures
1. There Overall impression of both cultures
The first video gave the impression about how native American
people live nowadays in deep areas of the countries were there is not the
same technology that people in big cities has. The video show the life of
Jaexco White, a men that has different personalities that live in the
Appalachian mountains that is located in West Virginia. The second video is
about the life of native people in the Amazon forest between the border of
Venezuela and Brazil and shows the contrast of the people that life there and
the society now.
2. Implications (social, religion, political, legal, economics, others)
Jesco White’s video shows how people lives in the country side and
how him with a personality disorder handle his life. In the videos it is evident
to see how he has three different personalities, in the first personality he is a
person a is famous, he believes that he is Elvis Presley and he wears clothes
like him and do performances like him, in the second personality, he is a very
nice person with everyone, in the third one, he is the opposite of the second
one and he shows the bad of him. Because of the region where he lives, he is
knows for his performances of Elvis Presley in the Appalachian Mountains. It
is evident to see that he does not have a lot of money and that he lifes in a

2. rural area. However, he has a lot of problems such as drugs and mental
disorders. On the other hand, Yanomami video it is evident to see how a
women that left her culture to live in the big cities has struggles with her
culture. The culture in this video is divided by female and male activites. The
men are the ones that should bring food to the house and the women are the
ones in charge of taking care of their kids. Moreover, in the video its shown
the funeral of one of the members of the tribu and how they drink the ashed
while there are saying bye to the person that died. In the economic era, they
are nomadic so they move from place to place trying to find food and when
its over they move to another place. In the political area, it is evident to see
how a man marry a girl of 14 years old and how that it is illegal but for them
its ok.
3. How do they compare to yours
Both cultures are really different form mine due that I live in a era where I
have a lot of technological advances that it is evident they do not have in the
two videos. They depended more economically of their surroundings that I
do.
4. Similarities between both cultures
Both cultures are based on a country or nature life. They do not have
technological advances and they both live for the day without thinking in
their future.
5. How do you think those cultures were created

3. They were created because they did not have any other option to live so they
got together trying to find a way to survive and because they never got any
source kind of help of the government to move to bigger cities.
