• In English is common to find compound verbs or phrasal verbs used to communicate the different ideas within
the daily life. Some of these verbs are

• To ask out: We can use this phrasal verb to invite somebody on a date, that is a boy is in love with a girl, then he
invites her to go to the cinema. Thus this is a common example in a phrase within English as a foreign
language " Andrés asked Andra out to the cinema last weekend.

• Break down: This phrasal verb is used when a home appliance or things in general stop working. One example in
which this phrasal verb is expressed could be " That fridge has broken down".

• Cheek out: We can use this verb in an informal way to replace the verb "To look" for example " Cheek out that
dirty flat"
3. • Do something over: It used when someone must do again something that has done badly drom the beginning.
One example could be " Richard must do his taks over"

• Eat out: We use this verb to express that we go to eat to a restaurant, for example "My family and I will eat out
this night."

• Fill in: This verb is used to express that someone write some information in a form.
• One example could be " You have to fill out with your name and E-mail"

• Get back: We use this verb to express that somebody has returned, that is a person has left home for a time, but
he or she returns, for exaple " Daniela had gotten back home "

• Get up: This verb is used when we stand. The most common example is when we get uo of bed every day. "

• Let down: It used to express that somebody has failed, for example " Don't let me down this time“
• Pass away: It used to express that someone or an animal has died. One example could be " My beautiful puppy
has passed away"
