DEFINITION:
‘’Fire is the result of Fuel, Oxygen and initial source of heat
combining together in correct proportions’’
TYPE OF FIRE:
Class A: wood, paper, cloth, trash, plastic, solid combustible materials that are not
metals.(Leave ash)
Class B: Flammable liquids (gasoline, oil, grease, acetone). Any non-metal in a liquid
state. (Can boil)
Class C: Flammable gases (Methane, propane etc...)
Class D: Metal base fire (welding slag etc….)
Class E: Electrical (energized electrical equipment)

HOW TO USE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Look for a wind direction. stand at upwind direction
Check the fire extinguisher gauge
Check the fire extinguisher with handle and pull out safety pin
Place hose and nozzle assembly under thump of hand holding
the lever
Attack fire with nozzle
Distance should be 7 to 10 feet from fire
After use, invert extinguisher and squeeze nozzle operation lever fully to release
all pressure.
