This document outlines the content and activities for Section 2 of a course on Climate Change & Sustainability. Students will watch videos providing field-based perspectives on climate change impacts in Mozambique, Pakistan, Kiribati, and other locations. They will then participate in a workshop by providing examples of actions people are taking to address climate change and actions they could promote personally. Students will also complete a 20 question, 10 minute quiz to assess their understanding of the section's material. Upon completion, they will have gained perspectives on real-world climate impacts and ways individuals are responding.

This sections presents some Climate Change & Sustainability concerns and
implications from a field-based and personal perspectives.
You will be presented with some local situations around the globe and You will be
asked to participate in the first workshop of this course and also to answer to the
final quiz for Section 2 – both activities – workshop and quiz - will be considered
to Your final grade, so be focused!
This Section will help You to recognize the possible roles of the individuals around
the globe to fight against Climate Change.
Time to completion of this Section is expected to be 50 min.

We have chosen short videos examples from Mozambique, Pakistan, Kiribati, and some other
examples applicable everywhere - listen carefully to this videos – by the end of them, for You
workshop activity, You must provide:
i) three examples of real actions people have taken as countermeasures to climate change,
and
ii) three examples of real actions You might promote, in Your daily life, to fight again climate
change.
Later in the course, You will review the answers of some of Your colleagues, and provide
feedback to them, and some of Your colleagues will review Your work, and You will receive
feedback from them.

Besides Your participation in the workshop, another reason to pay attention to the following
videos, is that You will be asked to answer to final quiz for Section 2 – this quiz will check Your
progress in learning and identifying different concerns, situations and attitudes related to
Climate Change – it’s a quiz with 20 questions to be answered in 10 minutes, so take Your time
and attention to follow the videos to prepare Yourself to this final quiz – good luck!

Workshop “Three examples, three ideas”
For this workshop, You must provide:
i) three examples of real actions people have taken as countermeasures to climate change, as
mentioned in the previous videos – When mentioning the action, please mention also the reason
for that action, and the expected result – please take Your time to choose three nice examples,
and
ii) three examples of real actions You might promote, in Your daily life context, to fight again - or
mitigate - climate change – please take Your time to think about three actions with real impact in
climate change.
Later in the course, You will review the answers of some of Your colleagues, and provide feedback to
them, and some of Your colleagues will review Your work, and You will receive feedback from them.

Assessment quiz
Quizzes are a very importante part of the “Climate Change & Sustainability” Course –
they give You some feedback how are You mastering the concepts and competences of
the Course, but are also very useful for us, since they indicate in wich areas students
might have more difficulties and, thus, need more explanations or help from us.
As a general rule, prepare Your quizz in advance – choose a quiet place and try to avoid
any interruption during the duration of the quizz.
