commission to take the baton.”
However, it would be practically impossible for the SEC to require all the above-listed information in one expansive rule. In
addition, though it might please climate change activists, it would alienate issuers and bring heaps of scorn from the business
lobby. More importantly, though, it could violate a bedrock principle of SEC disclosure mandates: materiality.

Australia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the
Gold, Metals & Mining and Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 lost 2.02% to hit a new 1-month
low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were A2 Milk
Company Ltd (ASX:A2M), which rose 2.70% or 0.15 points to trade at 5.70 at
the close. Meanwhile, Perenti Global Ltd (ASX:PRN) added 1.92% or 0.02
points to end at 0.80 and Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV) was up 1.91% or 0.03
points to 1.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pointsbet Holdings Ltd
(ASX:PBH), which fell 15.86% or 0.46 points to trade at 2.44 at the close.
Ramelius Resources Ltd (ASX:RMS) declined 9.26% or 0.08 points to end at
0.74 and Perseus Mining Ltd (ASX:PRU) was down 8.57% or 0.14 points to
1.44.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange
by 941 to 404 and 372 ended unchanged.
