However, it would be practically impossible for the SEC to require all the above-listed information in one expansive rule. In
addition, though it might please climate change activists, it would alienate issuers and bring heaps of scorn from the business
lobby. More importantly, though, it could violate a bedrock principle of SEC disclosure mandates: materiality.
Disclosures are material when they are reasonably likely to impact a company’s financial condition or operating performance.

Australia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Discretionary
and IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 declined 1.23% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Resolute Mining Ltd (ASX:RSG), which rose
7.69% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Silver Lake Resources Ltd (ASX:SLR) added
7.27% or 0.08 points to end at 1.18 and Regis Resources Ltd (ASX:RRL) was up 6.85% or 0.10 points to
1.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carsales.Com Ltd (ASX:CAR), which fell 7.79% or 1.59 points to
trade at 18.81 at the close. Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV) declined 6.81% or 0.10 points to end at 1.30 and
Cochlear Ltd (ASX:COH) was down 6.63% or 13.82 points to 194.54.
