How Did Jesse Jackson Contribute To The Civil Rights Movement
Jesse Jackson was extremely important in the Civil Rights Movement. Jesse Jackson was a Civil
Rights Movement leader he worked with Martin Luther King Jr. to help give safety and
opportunities for color during the movement. Jesse Jackson worked hard and helped people, he's a
believer in democracy and ran in the election for president. Jesse Jackson made an impact on not
only the people who surrounded him, but everyone Jesse Jackson was born on October 8, 1941 in
Greenville, South Carolina to his mother. Jackson was made fun of as a child. Jesse's father had
disappeared when he was young, this gave him a disadvantage compared to the kids around him
who had their fathers around. Helen, his mother, married a former neighbor who became Jesse's ...

Jesse Jackson's core beliefs and his relevance in history are vital within the understanding of the
Civil Rights movement and the equality between races. In his Democratic Speech Jackson stated
"My constituency is the desperate, the damned, the disinherited, the disrespected, and the despised.
They are restless and seek relief. They've voted in record numbers. They have invested faith, hope
and trust that they have in us. The Democratic Party must send them a signal that we care. I pledge
my best to not let them down." Jesse Jackson publicly shared his ideas and opinions on politics and
the American government. Jackson's ideas and his outputs into the world made history and gave the
African Americans hope for their future and to get the equality they so desperately deserved. While
it seem as as if Jesse Jackson didn't do much in the Civil Rights Movement, he did have a large
impact on lots of the people during the times. Jesse Jackson performed a tremendous amount of
helpful actions in order to help the African Americans during the Civil Rights Movement, these
included, helping get people out of hostages and out of prisons when they were being held
accountable for actions that wouldn't be considered as crimes or punishable reasons if it were to be a
white person who was being accused and held accountable

Jesse Owens' full name was James Cleveland Owens. Jesse was born on September 12, 1913 in
Oakville, Alabama and died on March 31, 1980 in Tuscan, Arizona. As a kid he was expected to
work in cotton fields even when he was sick. He was sick with chronic bronchial congestion and
pneumonia. While he was in the fields Jesse had to carry 100 lbs. a day. On Sundays he had to go to
church and on Sunday nights he went to bed as soon as the sun went down. He went to bed that
early because he had to get up at 4:00 in the morning to work the fields. When Jesse turned 9 he
moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Jesses' father had trouble keeping a steady job, so his mom got a job as a
cleaning lady. While his parents were working his older brother and sister watched ... Show more

He earned money from his physical talents, he did this by racing cars and horses. Jesse played for
the Harlem Globetrotters. Jesse married a girl named Ruth Solomon and had three children. They
lived in Cleveland. Everyone in Cleveland welcomed him back with open arms, the only thing they
wouldn't do was give him a job. After he retired from running he opened a business in Chicago,
Illinois. The business was public relations and marketing. He traveled around the United States to
attend conventions and other business gatherings. Jesse was wanting to be in baseball or football. At
the time African Americans weren't allowed to play in either sports. A good thoroughbred is twice as
fast as a human. When he was racing his first racehorse Jesse ran faster than he ever did. After the
race he learned that the hoarse was actually ten yards behind him. The things he didn't like about
racing horses was that he was away from family. He wasn't sure if it was participating in athletic
events or making a spectacle of himself. Finally Jesse quit and went back to Cleveland. In Cleveland
he went to work at the playground. One night he was visited by someone from Australia. He and
Jesse talked about the Olympics. Around nine o'clock the Australian left. Jesse moved to Detroit.
His mother died and soon after his father did too. Detroit and Cleveland had made bad memories for
Jesse. He moved to Detroit for a new start. Detroit didn't work out so well for him. So he thought
Chicago, Illinois was going to be a good place to start a business. In 1956 Jesse was appointed
Ambassador of Sport for the United States. With this he was offered to travel around the world too
teach kids good sportsmanship and competition. After a while of that he was finally director of
sports clinics of its Youth Commission. In 1960 before the Olympic Games his daughter was elected
queen of homecoming which was at Ohio State University. That was were Jesse went to school.

Jesse Owens Jesse Owens, one of the greatest athletes that our world has ever seen. Through the
color of his skin, he was still seen in a time of racism and separation and he was seen as a star.
Owens competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, 3 years after the start of the Holocaust. The
world saw Jewish and African Americans in a horrifying way. Jesse Owens has inspired me, and
thousands of others, as an athlete to work hard and to overcome any and every circumstance. Jesse
Owens overcame the events of World War II and the judgements from many others, regarding the
color of his skin, and was the most successful athlete. How did the 1936 world views of race affect

Rumors were spread that Owen's was snubbed by Adolf Hitler. Owens shut these rumors down
quickly and stated, "Hitler didn't snub me; it was our president who snubbed me. The president
didn't even send a telegram." President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, of a major political party with
deep roots in racism, invited all white athletes to the White House to congratulate them on their
victories, but Jesse Owens, the most successful athlete was not invited or even sent a telegram.
Despite all of Owens success, he was still treated poorly. After the olympics, Owens worked many
different jobs in numerous fields of work such as dry cleaning, playground instructor and a
basketball coach. In 1940, Owens returned to The Ohio State University to finish his degree. Jesse
Owens, finally given recognition for his life, was given the Medal of Freedom by President Gerald
Ford, 40 years after competing in the Berlin Olympics. Despite Owens's success, he was still treated
like any other African American man during segregation. Although, Owens was able to block out the
hatred that was directed towards to him by other countries, the disrespect he was given by his home

Sarah: As Jesse Owens once said, "We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into a
reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self discipline, and effort." This quote is
saying that before you can make your dreams come true, you must work hard and not stop until you
reach your dreams. This has to do with our topic because Jesse Owens showed these traits when he
was competing in the 1936 Olympics.
Isabella: Hitler believed that his race of people would beat African Americans in the Olympics. Jesse

Online Investigation And Intentional Of My Own Name
I have always been interested in names. At one point in my life, I would spend hours researching
them on various websites, saving my favorites for future use in one of the many books I planned on
writing. I'm sure my parents, if they had seen my browser history – babynames.com,
babycenter.com, bump.com – would have been very concerned. Nevertheless, the existence of these
websites is a testament to the fact that
I was not the only one who was obsessed; in recent years, interest in names has spiked as parents
endeavor to find the perfect word to describe their child. Initially, I was merely capitalizing on this
trend to fulfill my own curiosity about the origins of my own name –

He was, perhaps, the most stereotypical Jew in Shakespeare's works, a caricature possessing all the
negative traits associated with Jews by the people of the sixteenth century. Thus, in my parents'
attempt to appease their relations by avoiding a name with Semitic connotations, they ignorantly
assigned me a name associated with one of the most famous
Jews in western cultural history. I find this hilarious. A person's middle name is far less significant,
usually an afterthought or a second choice. It has no real use, and very few people outside of the
individual's family know what it is. It is not part of an individual's first impression. Nevertheless, my
middle name
– Paige – actually had a bit of thought put into it. Back in the 90's, my parents had developed a bit of
an obsession with the soap opera Knots Landing. My father, in particular, became enamored of one
of the primary female characters. A "strong, independent woman" who knew what she wanted, Paige
possessed several traits that my dad hoped his daughters would have. So, he made me, his eldest, her
namesake. Learning that you are named after a soap opera character is a bit dismaying, but I have
come to terms with it over the years. After all, I want to be a "strong, independent woman" as well;
sharing a name with a relatively famous one is a nice little motivator. Finally, a person's last name is
perhaps the most significant one of all; it connects them with other individuals and

The Legacy Of Jesse Owens And The American Dream
Watch Me.. You Won't
The world record holder Jesse Owens digs his own starting blocks into the cinder track, Ready, Set,
Go. Jesse sprints the 100 meters and gains one of four gold medals. Jesse Owens is one of the
greatest track athletes that ever lived. He ran jumped and in his later career even won against horses.
Many called him the fastest man alive. Although some may say Jesse Owens did not change
America's position on racism, he was an influential and controversial person because he made the
American Dream and did what no one expected.
Some might say Jesse Owens is not controversial because he did not change the racism in America.
Jesse Owens said "When I came back to my native country, after all the stories about Hitler, I
couldn't ride in the front of the bus," Owens said. "I had to go to the back door. I couldn't live where
I wanted. I wasn't invited to shake hands with Hitler, but I wasn't invited to the White House to
shake hands with the President, either." This quote may be true, but Jesse Owens was influential and
was an example that it does not matter the ethnicity or nationality, a hero is a hero.
Jesse Owens is influential because, he is the best example of the "American Dream." Jesse Owens

"He was repeatedly put on academic probation by OSU which prevented him from being apart of
some track and field evets during the season. In spring quarter at the university Jesse Owens had
extremely poor grades, so bad that Ohio State did not let him compete in the winter indoor meet in
1936. In his junior year of college Owens brought up his grades sufficiently, which was enough for
him to be able to participate in the regular outdoor season, but this was the last full academic year
Jesse Owens attended. In the 1940s Jesse Owens returned to Ohio State University but was once
again placed on academic probation. In December 1941, he withdrew from OSU and never got his
degree (osu.edu)." Jesse Owens suffered greatly in his years of college which stood in the way of the
growth he could have had during these years. Although he did not do good in college the little bit of
time when he ran showed him good enough to move onto bigger better things. In one day, in the
short time of forty–five minutes Jesse Owens made an everlasting name for himself. "In the first
event, Jesse Owens ran down the track to win the one–hundred–yard dash in 9.4 seconds, tying the
world record. In his first and what will be the only jump of the day he rocketed out twenty–six feet

the two hundred and twenty–yard dash he was off with the gun and streaked home almost fifth–teen
yards ahead of the second man in 20.3 seconds, taking three–tenths of a second from the world
record (bigten.org)." Despite minor set–backs in college Jesse Owens came back and defeated

members of the LGTBQ community. He had many purposes in life, setbacks to overcome, and

First and foremost, he made life in the United States better for black Americans. For example, Jesse
Jackson once said, "tonight there is a sense of celebration, because we are moved, fundamentally
moved, from racial battle grounds by law, to economic common ground, tomorrow we will
challenge to common ground." (Jesse Jackson 650). This evidence shows just how inspiring Jesse
Jackson was, he gave people hope for a better tomorrow. In addition, Jesse Jackson created a
foundation, which fought for rights for minorities and other socially deprived groups was a huge
part of his legacy. "Organization founded by Jesse Jackson–operation push a national rainbow
coalition. The organizations pursue social justice civil rights and political activism."(rainbow push

thousands of dollars to fight for them and created several organizations to fight alongside him.
Above all, Jesse Jackson didn't care about skin color he wanted equal rights for everyone no matter
who you are or what past you came from. "when I look out at this convention I see the face of
America, red, yellow, brown, black and white, we're all precious in Gods sight." (Jesse Jackson

How Did Jesse Jackson Impact Society

"If you fall behind, run faster. Never give up, never surrender, and rise up against all odds." That's
Jesse Jackson at one of his speeches in 1984, he went against all odds himself, overcame the risks
and proved to America that color didn't matter making him one of the most influential characters in
American history. Jacksons rough childhood, bravery, and human rights activism is what I think it
took to get the courage to do something as big and selfless as Jackson brought himself to do.
Growing up colored in the late 19 hundreds was rough, with countless restrictions and criterium on
young Jackson. He grew up in a small town and never was really exposed to much racism ,but as he
grew older it became more of an issue. In collage Jackson says in an interview with New York
Times "There was a lot of hidden discrimination based on the color of my skin and I just knew I had
the strength to stand up and so I went on to achieve this dream" (2) Being that he did experience
these traumatizing events he set out to change Americas racist issue. The problem was getting bigger

Jesse Jackson Legacy
Dear President Obama, I would like to put forth the suggestion that a national holiday be created in
honor of Jesse Jackson. Like you, Mr. Jackson was a junior senator before seeking to run for the
presidency, although in his case the office of president will not likely be his legacy. It is for this
reason and so many more that I think he deserves consideration for his own national holiday. Mr.
Jackson represents Americanism, both in its roots; that which seeks to succeed against all odds,
often with little more than sheer will to achieve a dream, as well as a more modern interpretation of
success. I submit to you we are no longer a nation that hides accomplishment under the carpet due to

Very early on, Jackson rather astutely realized that black consumer boycotts could be hugely
successful in effecting change. This change was called, "Operation Breadbasket". By using a board
member on a black owned bank to finance his efforts, Jackson then "assumed the look and wardrobe
of a leader" As the board member stated, "We could not have him as our leader and not supply the
appearance and the satisfaction that go with it." It is not every man that is willing to change his
personal image to suit the dreams of others. The first target of Operation Breadbasket was Country
Delight Products. This was a local dairy that employed no blacks but was solidly implanted in black
neighborhoods. Jackson met with Country Delight and attempted to negotiate a change to black
employees but was unsuccessful.Instead of giving up as lesser men might have done, he persuaded

Jesse Owens Thesis
In 1936, against a backdrop of swastikas flying and storm troopers goose–stepping, an African–
American son of sharecroppers won a staggering four Olympic gold medals and single–handedly
crushed Hitler's myth of Aryan supremacy. The story of Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Olympics is
that of an athletic performance that transcends sports. It is an intimate and complex tale of the
courage of one remarkable man. It is also the story of the American movement to boycott the games,
which nearly succeeded, and of the Nazis' efforts to use the Olympics as a showcase for their new
American Culture."

Throughout his travels around the United States, competing in the name of Ohio State, Owens was
also met with continuous racism and scrutiny. By the end of his tour, he was obviously physically
drained, but mentally drained as well. Being in the public eye for so long, rumors started to pop up,
and Owens became distracted. However, after some rest, he regained his form. He competed in the
United States Olympic Trials on Randall's Island, in New York City. By the time the "Ebony
Antelope" (as one of many adoring newspapermen had anointed him) was ready for Berlin, his
success was practically guaranteed. The real drama of Schaap's book comes in the politically
fractious run up to Berlin. From the start, American participation in the 1936 games was
controversial. A boycott was afoot based on reports of Nazi hostility to Jews, but was thwarted by
the president of the American Olympic Committee who dismissed the actions of the Third Reich as
irrelevant. At the Games, the subplots and intrigue continued. Owens was befriended by a
stereotypically Aryan rival, broad jumper Luz Long, who helped Owens win the gold medal at his
own expense. Long offered some friendly advice, clearly embodying the Olympic spirit rather than
showing his Aryan superiority. Two Jewish sprinters were denied the chance to compete for the
United States at the last possible moment, most likely out of misguided deference to the Nazi hosts.
A myth was born that Hitler had snubbed Owens by failing to congratulate him. Owens eventually
went on to win four gold medals in the 100 and 200–meter sprints, the long jump, and the 4x100
meter relay, tying an Olympic record for individual medals won in a single

They monitored companies' treatment of African–Americans and organized boycotts calling for fair
hiring practices. Jackson pressed for broader employment opportunities for African–Americans.
This organization allowed for more people to be included in the U.S. economy and helped include
African–Americans in more job opportunities. More people in the economy helps lean towards a
more inclusive society, which is what a democracy is about. Jackson's multiracial National Rainbow

Rhetorical Analysis Of 1980 Speech By Jesse Jackson
Choice of a Lifetime In Jesse Jackson's 1980 speech "Make a Decision," he attempts to empower his
audience of seventeen and eighteen year–olds and encourage them to make responsible decisions.
Jackson's technique of allusion, refutation, repetition, and use of anecdotes ultimately succeeds in
moving a reluctant audience. Jackson opens his speech by alluding to a poem written by prominent
Baptist, Rev. William Borders. In doing so, Jackson challenges the stereotypes that often plague the
community. Jackson first introduces the stereotypes of the community, and then follows by refuting
every one of the stereotypes mentioned. He captures the attention of his audience right off the bat by
making his claim undeniable. With passion he says, "I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

times, but as long as you have are accepting of others, also have generosity, and just show your
kindness it will give back in the end. –unkindness isolates people –kindness builds relationships –to
maintain a sense of personal integrity (they know when they are being unkind, and it brings out the
worst of themselves and betrays their sense of what is right.) "Never look down on anybody unless

Jack and Summer show their kindness by inviting him over, doing projects together, and simply just
eating lunch with him and on the first day of school. Not only are the friends kind, August shows his
kindness by forgiving Jack. Jack makes a big mistake by being unkind to him, in the end August
gives Jack a second chance. When people are kind it builds relationships with others; it helps them
gain trust within one another. The three friends all had trust in one another because they were kind to
each other. They showed their loyalty by sticking up for each other. When people feel isolated and
that no one is their for them; it usually is because of unkindness. At the beginning of the book the
kids in the school start something called the plague. The plague meant that if you were touched by
August, you had thirty seconds to wash your hands or you had the disease. That made August feel
really ashamed of himself that people would think of him in that way. He did not let that factor get
in the way of him feeling isolated, embarrassed or affect his self confidence. Because of how much
confidence he had, Jack and Summer wanted to be friends with him. Even though, August was
confident within himself there was one thing in the book that made him question himself. When
Jack was talking about August behind his back, it really affected him. Because it affected him, he
wasn't sure if Summer actually was friends with him. In the end, he learned that they really were
true friends because they stood up for him when others tried to put him down. When the school went
to a camp, other kids tried to beat him up because he looked different. Jack showed his appreciation
and loyalty towards him by sticking up for him. By the end of the book, August learned that you do
not have to feel isolated; someone is always their for you. We have to be kind because it allows

The Tragedy Of Child Abduction
There is nothing like the injustice of child abduction, murder, and molestation. As John Walsh says
it:
"The abduction of a child is a tragedy. No one can fully understand or appreciate what a parent goes
through at such a time, unless they have faced a similar tragedy. Every parent responds differently.
Each parent copes with this nightmare in the best way he or she knows how"

Another positive aspect of Megan's Law is that it makes the pedophile, who had to register
themselves as a sex offender, more weary of their actions. People are less likely to act a certain way
or do things if they know that everyone is keeping watch over almost all their actions (www.nj.gov).
Like most things there is always a negative aspect. A negative aspect of Megan's Law is how some
people consider it to be unconstitutional. People believe that it is unconstitutional in that the rights
of the pedophile to live a normal life have been taken away (Star–Ledger). Many argue that they
deserve this violation but when it comes down to it, their rights really are being revoked. If a sex
offender who has already served their time in prison and has gotten the help that they needed want
to start a new life as a new person, they can not do this because of Megan's Law. Megan's Law
makes it very hard for the person to try and start over now that everyone knows what they had done
and their privacy had been violated (Amoroso). Megan's Law also only lists people who are of
moderate or high risk. Basically if you have done something along the lines of pedophilia but
nothing that made the newspaper, no one will know about it (Amoroso). People also try to use the

Jesse James : Outlaw Or Hero?
Bre Keil–Sauter
CAPP English and Composition
Mr. Keehan Hour 4

Jesse James: Outlaw Or Hero?
Jesse James, a man who has been viewed for decades as an outlaw, lived during the Civil War.
During the Civil War, many forms of combat existed. One of the most common forms for the South,
otherwise known as the Confederate States of America, were groups of guerrilla bands. A guerrilla
band is a group of armed civilians that use military tactics such as raids, sabotages, ambushes, hit–
and–run, petty warfare, and mobility to fight a usually larger, less–mobile and traditional military
unit. These guerillas had forever changed the course of what is known as the bloodiest war in
American history. One of the most common types of guerillas during this time was what was known
as bushwhackers. Bushwhackers were Southern supporters that were uniformed and had no
affiliation with the Confederate army. These groups were useful because Union soldiers had no way
of distinguishing the difference between a bushwhacker and a southern resident who posed no threat
to them. Jesse James and his older brother Frank James were two of the most successful
bushwhackers in Civil War history. (Guerrilla Warfare; Kozikowski)
In terms of American History, most people view Jesse James as a classic example of a white gang
member who lived during the civil war. He has been referred to as the American Robinhood for
decades; this image continues even today. Even after the Civil War had

something in the distance,or rather someone. It was a figure of RJ Ottens. RJ was a kind and coward
person with handsome legs and big arms. Kevin gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a
sympathetic and clever person with skinny legs and short arms. His friends see him as a frightened
and fast person. The sun shone like running dogs, making Kevin calm. As Kevin stepped on the
starting line and RJ came closer, he could see the kosher smile on his face. "I'm here because I want
glory," RJ bellowed, in a fast tone. He slammed his fist on the track, with the force of 6291

Nevertheless, the existence of these websites is a testament to the fact that I was not the only one who was obsessed; in recent years, interest in names has spiked as parents endeavor to find the perfect word to describe their child. Thus, in my parents' attempt to appease their relations by avoiding a name with Semitic connotations, they ignorantly assigned me a name associated with one of the most famous Jews in western cultural history. I find this hilarious. A person's middle name is far less significant, usually an afterthought or a second choice. It has no real use, and very few people outside of the individual's family know what it is. It is not part of an individual's first impression. Nevertheless, my middle name – Paige – actually had a bit of thought put into it. Back in the 90's, my parents had developed a bit of an obsession with the soap opera Knots Landing. My father, in particular, became enamored of one of the primary female characters. A "strong, independent woman" who knew what she wanted, Paige possessed several traits that my dad hoped his daughters would have. So, he made me, his eldest, her namesake. Learning that you are named after a soap opera character is a bit dismaying, but I have come to terms with it over the years. Some might say Jesse Owens is not controversial because he did not change the racism in America. Jesse Owens said "When I came back to my native country, after all the stories about Hitler, I couldn't ride in the front of the bus," Owens said. "I had to go to the back door. Jesse Owens suffered greatly in his years of college which stood in the way of the growth he could have had during these years. Although he did not do good in college the little bit of time when he ran showed him good enough to move onto bigger better things. That's Jesse Jackson at one of his speeches in 1984, he went against all odds himself, overcame the risks and proved to America that color didn't matter making him one of the most influential characters in American history. Jacksons rough childhood, bravery, and human rights activism is what I think it took to get the courage to do something as big and selfless as Jackson brought himself to do. Like you, Mr. Jackson was a junior senator before seeking to run for the presidency, although in his case the office of president will not likely be his legacy. It is for this reason and so many more that I think he deserves consideration for his own national holiday. Mr. Jackson represents Americanism, both in its roots; that which seeks to succeed against all odds, often with little more than sheer will to achieve a dream, as well as a more modern interpretation of success. Jesse Owens Thesis In 1936, against a backdrop of swastikas flying and storm troopers goose–stepping, an African– American son of sharecroppers won a staggering four Olympic gold medals and single–handedly crushed Hitler's myth of Aryan supremacy. The story of Jesse Owens at the 1936 Berlin Olympics is that of an athletic performance that transcends sports. It is an intimate and complex tale of the courage of one remarkable man. It is also the story of the American movement to boycott the games, which nearly succeeded, and of the Nazis' efforts to use the Olympics as a showcase for their new American Culture." Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout his travels around the United States, competing in the name of Ohio State, Owens was also met with continuous racism and scrutiny. By the end of his tour, he was obviously physically drained, but mentally drained as well. Being in the public eye for so long, rumors started to pop up, and Owens became distracted. However, after some rest, he regained his form. He competed in the United States Olympic Trials on Randall's Island, in New York City. By the time the "Ebony Antelope" (as one of many adoring newspapermen had anointed him) was ready for Berlin, his success was practically guaranteed. The real drama of Schaap's book comes in the politically fractious run up to Berlin. From the start, American participation in the 1936 games was controversial. A boycott was afoot based on reports of Nazi hostility to Jews, but was thwarted by the president of the American Olympic Committee who dismissed the actions of the Third Reich as irrelevant. At the Games, the subplots and intrigue continued. Owens was befriended by a stereotypically Aryan rival, broad jumper Luz Long, who helped Owens win the gold medal at his own expense. Long offered some friendly advice, clearly embodying the Olympic spirit rather than showing his Aryan superiority. Two Jewish sprinters were denied the chance to compete for the United States at the last possible moment, most likely out of misguided deference to the Nazi hosts. A myth was born that Hitler had snubbed Owens by failing to congratulate him. Another positive aspect of Megan's Law is that it makes the pedophile, who had to register themselves as a sex offender, more weary of their actions. People are less likely to act a certain way or do things if they know that everyone is keeping watch over almost all their actions (www.nj.gov). Like most things there is always a negative aspect. A negative aspect of Megan's Law is how some people consider it to be unconstitutional. People believe that it is unconstitutional in that the rights of the pedophile to live a normal life have been taken away (Star–Ledger). Many argue that they deserve this violation but when it comes down to it, their rights really are being revoked. If a sex offender who has already served their time in prison and has gotten the help that they needed want to start a new life as a new person, they can not do this because of Megan's Law. Megan's Law makes it very hard for the person to try and start over now that everyone knows what they had done and their privacy had been violated (Amoroso). I walked out of my room just to see the ridiculous amount of Steelers posters were up, I could only guess it was my dad. I opened the door to expect the guests to be here, but they were nowhere to be found. "Hello?" I said aloud, but no one replied. "No, put the cookie down!" Arnold yelled furiously. "I believe these cookies are for all the party guests Arnold!" Donald Trump replied angrily. They both grabbed a hold of the container of cookies, but since Arnold was more muscular and he was basically a robot, he won the fight and he had all the cookies for himself. Jesse James, a man who has been viewed for decades as an outlaw, lived during the Civil War. During the Civil War, many forms of combat existed. One of the most common forms for the South, otherwise known as the Confederate States of America, were groups of guerrilla bands. A guerrilla band is a group of armed civilians that use military tactics such as raids, sabotages, ambushes, hit– and–run, petty warfare, and mobility to fight a usually larger, less–mobile and traditional military unit. These guerillas had forever changed the course of what is known as the bloodiest war in American history. One of the most common types of guerillas during this time was what was known as bushwhackers. Bushwhackers were Southern supporters that were uniformed and had no affiliation with the Confederate army. These groups were useful because Union soldiers had no way of distinguishing the difference between a bushwhacker and a southern resident who posed no threat to them. Jesse James and his older brother Frank James were two of the most successful bushwhackers in Civil War history. (Guerrilla Warfare; Kozikowski) In terms of American History, most people view Jesse James as a classic example of a white gang member who lived during the civil war.
