It consist of lamellar cell & tomo function. These are arranged in 1-3 rows.
Keratohyaline is absent in hair & nails.
4. STRATUM SPINOSUM
It also known as spine layer.

Tzahe viable cells are present.
It replace the dead cell.

It mainly consist of adipose tissue.
Sebaceous gland
It secrete sebum (face, ear) which manly consist glycerides & free fatty acid.
Sebum lubricats the skin source of stratum cardium plastisizing lipid & also maintain
acidic condition (pH5) on the skin outer surface.
