Paramelectrical offers the best power grid components, we have expertise in executing trunk of civil and electrical contracts for air-insulated substations for AC voltage class of 765kv, 400kv, 220kv, 132kv, 66kv and 33kv. Our vision is to complete the project within a specific period of time. We have extensive experience with civil project and electrical project.
2. What is an electrical substation?
An electrical substation is an auxiliary station of an
electricity generation, transmission and distribution system
where voltage is converted from high to low or reverse, using
transformers. The main purpose of a substation is to serve a
continuous power or power source from the generating
stations or transmission system to the consumer. Various
types of substations have been designed for the successful
operation of the power system.
Param Electrical has expertise in executing trunk of civil and
electrical contracts for air-insulated substations for AC
voltage class of 765kv, 400kv, 220kv, 132kv, 66kv and 33kv.
Our vision is to complete the project within a specific period
of time. We have extensive experience with civil project and

3. What are the types of electrical
substations?
These substations are classified into three types on the basis of
voltage level. The high voltage substation provides voltage in the
range of 11 kV to 66 kV. The extra high voltage substation
provides voltage in the range of 132 kV to 400 kV. High voltage
substation operated above 400 kV voltage range
Different types of electrical substations
Based on construction and design
Indoor Substation
Indoor substations are commonly found in urban areas. Indoor
substations require a small amount of space to install the type of
equipment required.

4. Outdoor Substation
To install the equipment of an external substation, large space is required.
According to construction and service, outdoor substations are further
classified into two subclasses.
1. Pole Mounted Substation
2. Foundation Mounted Substation
Underground Substation
Under certain conditions (such as land scarcity or the high cost of land), an
underground substation is sufficient to install this necessary equipment for
power transmission.
Operating Voltage-
High Voltage (HV) Substations
The substation produces voltage in the extent of 11 kV to 66 kV.
Extra High Voltage (EHV) Substations
The extra high voltage substation provides voltage in the range of 132 kV to
400 kV.
Ultra-High Voltage (UHV) Substations
High voltage substation manage over 400 kV voltage extent

5. Job Role:-
Step-up Substation
It is constructed for powerhouse or power station.
Primary Grid Substation
This voltage is transmitted over a three-phase three-wire overhead
system. This grid lowers the substation voltage level (closer to 66kV)
and supplies it to the secondary substation.
Secondary Substation
The main function of the secondary substation is to reduce the
voltage range (from 66kV to 11kV).
Distribution Substation
A distribution substation is a pole-mounted type substation placed
near the consumer ends.
Apart from all these above-mentioned electrical substations are also
classified on the basis of service recruitment and power network.
