Continental Plate
>also known as a destructive plate boundary (because
of subduction), is an actively deforming region where two (or
more) tectonic plates or fragments of the lithosphere move
toward one another and collide.

boundary or an extensional boundary
> Divergent boundaries occur along
spreading centers where plates are
moving apart and a new crust is
created by magma pushing up from the
mantle.

11. 3. Transform-fault Boundary :
>is formed when two plates are sliding past each other. It
is also called the Strike-slip fault. Rocks that line the
boundary split into pieces as the plates slip at each other.
A crack is then formed creating an undersea canyon or
linear fault valley.
>also known as a conservative plate boundary, since
these faults neither create nor destroy lithosphere)
>most transform fault are found on the ocean floor. They
commonly offset active spreading ridges, producing zig-
zag plate margins, and are generally defined by shallow
earthquakes.
