1. Great Smoky Mountains Recount
April 30: Today was the first day we spent at the world's most visited national park, The Great
Smoky Mountains. We got here at 7:00 AM. The Great Smoky Mountains are located between
North Carolina and Tennessee. According to my research that I did before we came, The Great
Smoky Mountains have many things like Black Bears, Cades Cove, lots of flowers, and many things
things to do. We haven't done anything yet but we will start everything tomorrow. We are gonna stay
for 5 days. April 31: Last night the people at the front desk were so nice and as soon as we went in
our room people gave us welcoming gifts. It was amazing. I wish we could've done more today
though. All we did today was hike and then we went to the resort. The kids went to the water park
that they have and the parents went to the place with all the other adults. The hotel we stayed at had
amazing views and it was like living in a house! The hotel and the resort were so close that we could
walk to it. We walked to the resort at night to see how it was because mom said we were gonna go
there tomorrow so we went to go check it out. Tonight the parents said we can do anything we want
so we are planning on going to the resort because it will feel cooler than it did this morning. If we
don't go to the resort then we will go check some other stuff out so we can tell our parents what we
want to do tomorrow. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

soaring eagle or they can brave the rapids on a water raft. If death defying rides are too much to
handle, then visit one of the many comedy shows the town has to offer. The comedy shows are full

The Journey Begins Today is the first day of my trek through the magical kingdom of the Great
Smoky Mountains. I have just entered the Smoky Mountains National Park. It has been a tough
road, but I have finally made it here. I can see such a beautiful view here; it seems like heaven for
North Carolina and Tennessee. Although I feel the need to just stop and stare, I own little time to
waste at the moment. I need to recover, and I feel that I also might need some medical attention. I
mustn't remember the terrible horrors I have gone through to turn up here. It is very hard to even
think about it. As I was making my way down here, I was attacked by a black bear, apparently a

through The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Later, on the next part of my journey, I went to
Pigeon Forge. Pigeon Forge a popular place for fun in this giant National Park. Pigeon forge is quite
popular, and to me, it must be that the Smoky Mountains are the most visited National Park. Many
people who walked by me gave me strange looks, as if I was some sort of alien to them. Of course,
my clothes were quite dirty, and I did have a gashing scar on my right leg. The most painful is the
feeling of loneliness that aches in every bone of my body. My first stop was Dollywood, a Dolly
Parton themed theme park. This seems like an unwise decision just to walk around a theme park
looking for my family. On the other hand, I know that my family loves fun places and are rarely
ever at home. For the first hour, I found no sign of them at all. After that, I had an amazing idea.

Day 1: I have arrived in Gatlinburg, Tennessee to help victims of the tragedies that have occurred
during the lethal fires spreading throughout the Great Smokey Mountains. The team and I have
brought water supplies to last until our last day, along with food and other snacks. So far, we have
not yet discovered what started these fires. Our team has decided to put non injured victims into a

noon. The fires continue to grow and roar at the innocent mountains that several claim home. Winds
were up to 70 mph, forcing the fires to continue and spread throughout the forests.
Day 2: Our crew was up until midnight last night, exploring areas that the fires have left for dead.

19. Types of Vacations
Vacations are a time we use to recharge our batteries. A time to spend with the ones you love and
build lifelong memories. There are many different options to consider when choosing where and
how to vacation. Everyone has different things they consider enjoyable or relaxing. In this essay I
will discuss different types of vacations and point out some benefits of each. Some people enjoy
vacationing at the beach. The warm climate is one of the biggest selling points when deciding on a
beach vacation. You can enjoy warm weather activities like swimming picnicking or volleyball. Or
you can just completely relax. Lay out in the sand with your feet in the water and a cold beverage,
soaking up the sunshine. Beach vacations are usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People with this mentality would probably be more interested in the theme park or sightseeing
vacations. There are lots of things to do. The days are action packed with little or no down time.
Once you finish one thing, there are a hundred other things to do next. I personally prefer a mix of
the two. I usually like staying busy. I will get bored easily and feel like I'm wasting time if I don't
have something to do. But I don't like to feel tied down. If I spontaneously decide I want to go do
something else, I like to have that option. My grandmother on the other hand is the master of doing
nothing on vacation. A few times a year she rents a beach house or condo on the water, then she
spends the entire week inside, sitting on the couch reading books. I don't know why she insists that
she be near the water, when she will never even step outside once to look at the water. But it's what
she likes to do. And that's the whole point of vacation, getting some time that is just for you.
Whether you enjoy beaches or mountains, whether you want to chill or go on an adventure, a
vacation is a time for you to do what makes you happy. The purpose of this essay was to explore the
different styles of vacations with the thought of matching them to your

21. Dolly Parton Is So Much More Than What People See Her As
Dolly Parton is so much more than what people see her as. She is much more than a "Barbie doll,"
that is why I am going to inform the class about Dolly Parton's early life, her career, and about
information that most people do not know about her. Additionally, I want to make the class more
familiar with some of Dolly Parton's most sensible words, which serve as valuable quotes to live by.
I want people to know how wonderful Dolly Parton is so that less people will possess negative
opinion about her. Dolly Parton proves that there is so much more to people than just their looks.
To begin, Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946 in Sevier County, Tennessee. She is the fourth
of twelve children of Robert and Avie. Furthermore, Dolly Parton described her family as dirt poor,
which is expressed in her song "A Coat of Many Colors" (Perone, James). From the start, music was
extremely important to Dolly Parton. She first started performing in Church with her family. It has
even been noted that she, "...loved performing since [she] was big enough to wrestle [her] little
brothers and sisters into sitting long enough for [her] to sing them [her] latest musical masterpiece."
Also, as a child she sang on the local radio and television program in Eastern Tennessee. At the age
of thirteen, she recorded her single "Puppy Love" and appeared at the Grand Ole Opry. You know
that someone is going to go far in life if they are that young and have already accomplished what
most wish they could.

Saint Augustine of Hippo once stated, "The world is a book and those who do not travel read only
one page." It was after stumbling across this statement that I was influenced to call up my friend and
suggest a road trip.
When we started off, it was a beautiful day. The bright morning sun peeked over the Appalachian
mountains to bid us farewell as we packed our belongings into the 2011 Chevy Cruze. Dew still
perched on the delicate leaves of various summer flowers while we rode down the road towards
Tennessee.
My friend Sarah drove. Her fingers tapped the steering wheel in rhythm to the Carrie Underwood
song blaring from the radio. It was the radio's job to keep us awake since we had left so early in the
morning; however, it was not doing a good job as I fell asleep only twenty minutes into the ride.
Sarah had to wake me up at the rest stop just outside of Roanoke, Virginia.
"Hey, Allyson," she called as she shook my shoulders, "it would be nice if you woke up, so I could
take a nap."
I just mumbled an incoherent string of words in response.
"I can just drive right back to Pennsylvania. We don't have to take a road trip."
That got me up. I had so much invested into this trip like money and time.
I sat in the driver's seat and watched the road continuously channel under the car sort of like a
conveyor belt. It was hypnotizing, just keeping my eye on the road. Before either Sarah or I knew it,
we were already parked in front of our hotel in Gatlinburg,

45. Personal Narrative: The Beach
It had been one scorching hot summer when the temperatures were record breaking. Everyone was
dying for water and air conditioning, people were having heart strokes, getting over heated and
being rushed to the hospital. This place was Nashville, Tennessee, where country music is all you
hear and they all wear jeans, button down shirts with boots and act the heat is no big deal. Tennessee
is the homegrown town for country music and artists. Where you can have a fun time and relax.
When I was about 10 years old my family and I went to Nashville for a vacation and we had a blast.
We got to see just about everything that you would die to see. When we arrived, we went and

This was better than any other park that I had been to. They had everything from the highest, longest
and dangerous rides you could think of. Parents and kids were wearing shorts, tank tops and sandals.
Everyone was sizzling red with sunburns and were roasting like hot dogs on a grill. Because it was
record breaking temperatures that day everyone was in line for the water rides including us. I think
that the best rides were the water rides because you would get the great sensation of a splash with
great mounds of water that you didn't even care because it was so hot. Everyone was eager to get on
the next ride and be in the water to cool off for a bit. I think most people rather be in an icebox than
out in 110 degree heat. My favorite ride was called dip and splash. It was just like if you were going
white water rafting only out of harm's way of getting injured. Your raft would go down
tremendously steep hills and would get splashed and the water would snake around your raft and
you would be drenched in water. As you would walk through the park you would hear little kids

47. My Definition Of Success Essay
Success is like a delicate red rose blooming, everyone is successful at doing their own thing. My
own definition for success is being wealthy because if we do not have any money, we will not get
anywhere in life. First, my definition for success is being wealthy and having progress in life. No
money means no successes in the future for the new generation of people. Second, Donald Trump is
a successful president because he has the money and dignity to be successful. Last, Dolly Parton is
successful at making money. She first started out in the country music business then she decided that
she wants to make everyone happy, so that is why she made Dollywood. After that she was making
progress, so therefore, that is how she is a huge success. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no other president like Trump because he has the dignity to help others and to help the
United States. Without common sense, everything will be lost and no one will have any faith in their
selves. With common sense, people are successful just like Donald Trump when he became
president. Given these points, Donald Trump serves as a successful president of the United States.
To emphasize, Dolly Parton is very successful because she first started a country music singer at the
Grand Ole Opry at Tennessee. As the years passed, she had a great idea to create Dollywood to
make every boy and girl happy. Once she got the amazing theme park opened, everyone came
running in to ride all of the rides. That was when all of the money came rolling in to her. Altogether,
Dolly is successful for creating Dollywood and to make people happy. In conclusion, success is
being filthy rich and quite helpful. Donald Trump is successful because he got to be the president of
the United States. Another successful thing is that Dolly Parton started out in the country music
business, then she got a splendid idea to create the amazing theme park of Dollywood. Success can

49. Personal Narrative: My Trip To The Great Smoky Mountains...
I was 10 years old when my grandparents took my sister and I on a trip in the summer of 2013. My
grandparents had taken us to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. The 10 hour car ride was a
terrible experience from what I remember as it was long, boring and hot. Also the eagerness to see
some place new and being stuck in a car made it very hard for my 10 year old self to endure. Not to
mention that I would constantly pester my grandparents with questions like "are we there yet?" Or
"can we stop and stretch?" And my grandparents would always respond with "No! We still have
many miles to go. Now quit your whining and be patient." But eventually my question "are we there

The landscape of the trail was beautiful as it was along along a mountainside with thick and dense
foliage and lots of wildlife. Not to mention the picturesque view of the surrounding mountains
covered in lush green forests. Mainly to my 10 year old self I thought the hike was relatively boring
and almost felt like it was lasting a lifetime, until we reached a waterfall. This was awesome as we
could swim at the base of it. The water was very cold, but it was also very refreshing as we had been
hiking for over an hour in 85 degree heat up a mountain. At that point my grandparents decided that
we should start heading back so we could grab some lunch before we packed up and headed home.
On our way back down the trail we noticed a small crowd of people pointing at something in the
trees so we stop to check it out. It turns out that it was a black bear. Myself and my sister being very
curious kids, stopped to check the bear out. Everything was fine until the bear started to walk
towards us and the crowd out from the trees and onto the trail. This then caused my grandmother,
who did I mention gets very nervous and scared, to take off as she did something between a sprint
and a jog straight down the trail far away from the bear. Everyone chuckled as she ran away, but

51. Analysis Of The Book ' Holy Cow ' An Indian Adventure ' By...
"Holy Cow, An Indian Adventure," by Sarah MacDonald, is a book written describing Sarah's
experience living in India. She goes through many tough times and endures life changing
experiences that eventually make her the person she is meant to be. In this book Sarah relates India
to western perspective several times. India and the United States do have similarities, India and the
United States both are run by a Democracy, they both have very strong cast systems; both have their
own "Hollywood" films, and both places have many religions mixed within. India like the United
States has a Democracy for their form of Government. India is a free nation with rights given to the
people and laws to protect them. Although India's Democracy is not exactly like the United States it
is set up very similar. In the book Sarah doesn't talk about India's Government and never runs into
any trouble by authorities, although she does mention that India has a Democracy. This means India
is a free nation and allows people to have opportunities for individuals to decide which ones they
would like to take. Within the Democracy, India like the U.S. has a strongly defined cast system.
Since India allows people to live freely, some people are very successful, some get by modestly, and
others live in poverty. These three levels make up India's cast system. Just like India the United
States has an upper class, middle class, and lower class. Each class is based off of income level and
quality of living.

53. Broken Family : The Aspects Of An All-American Family
When we think of an all–American family, what do we think of? To me, an all–American family
consists of a mother, a father, and two children, one boy and one girl. Unfortunately, today this is not
the norm. We have become a society that is full of broken families. Whether good or bad, this has
become a commonality for families in the United States.
Growing up, I thought I had what some would call an all–American family. Well except the
children. I didn't have brothers, but I did have a mother, a father, and two sisters living happily under
one roof. All was great until my parents announced they were unhappy and were going to get a
divorce. This happened when I was 10 years old. Little did I know, my parents separating was the
least of my worries. What I thought was an all–American family was not at all what we had. The
divorce made my mother very upset and, amidst everything happening, she decided to let me know
that the father that had been in my life this whole time was not my biological father.
At first, this made me very confused. The man who had raised me was not biologically related to me
at all. That's when I started to have a new feel of what a family was. Before my parents' divorce, I
saw myself at an advantage over others with divorced parents. I remember questioning people who
said they had step–parents, not fully understanding what exactly that meant. This whole time, I had a
step–parent as well. I soon started to realize that family is not a simple matter of

59. Personal Narrative-Winning The Battle In Rocky Top...
Working hard and achieving his goals is one of the most fulfilling and life changing experiences and
young man can go through. The lessons someone can learn from achieving something as a child will
most likely carry over to adulthood and allow someone to do something that they never thought was
possible. When my seventh grade football team and I won our third national championship, I learned
extremely valuable lessons: to get back up when you fall, to work hard for what you want, and how
to work as a team with others. From the beginning of the season, we knew our goal – winning the

type of feeling you get when you know you are well prepared for something, but you inexplicably

and the game became quite fun. Just as the prior years, the first game had the easiest opponent to
beat and my team and I had no problem securing a victory against them. The second game was a bit
more of a challenge, but defeating that team was nothing we were not prepared for. The true
challenge came in the third and championship game. Although we enjoyed a bye game due to our
two previous victories, the other team had the advantage of some truly God–gifted athletes. In
particular, number seven was a beast of a thirteen–year–old. He stood at an impressive six feet tall
and he towered over us on every snap. During the first drive, we had marched the ball down the

Have you ever had a friend that acted different than everyone else and wondered why? Some people
that act differently may suffer from a condition known as Asperger's. Asperger's is a syndrome of
Autism that presents many challenges, yet also has benefits as well. This condition often goes
unrecognized in young children because it is on the lower level spectrum of Autism. Actually, I
picked this topic because I have this condition myself. Asperger's main symptoms include; limited
social interaction, "robotic" or repetitive speech, lack of eye contact, and obsessions with unusual
topics. Some advantages are intelligence, faster learning, and special services in school. Some
disadvantages can include a deficit of communication, and depression. Intelligence is one of the

weren't always this simple. According to the biography.com website, "Dolly Rebecca Parton was
born on January 19, 1946, in Sevierville Tennessee. She was one of twelve children and her parents

As the years pressed on Gatlinburg saw more and more tourist. They decided to take this and create
a town that fully runs off of tourist. The second biggest thing to hit Gatlinburg after the creation of
the National Park has to be when the general assembly passed legislation in 2009 that made
distilleries legal in 41 Tennessee counties. On July 3rd, 2010 the city sold their first legal jar of
moonshine. Since, Gatlinburg has opened Ole Smoky Moonshine which allows tourist to come into
the distillery and are offered free tastings. This allows the tourist to taste the heritage of the Smoky
Mountains. After which the people are able to buy jars of said moonshine and take the taste of the
Smokys' home. This passing allowed for a massive increase from an economic and tax revenue
standpoint. The following months brought in more tourist than before. Granted many people thought
by offering free tasting of moonshine and making it legal to brew, the locals thought it would put out
the wrong image of Gatlinburg. Many locals believed that Gatlinburg should have stayed a more
family oriented attraction, but with the passing of the legislation the locals realized that it didn't
affect the family image that had been established. With the locals of Gatlinburg onboard and the
moonshine business beginning to take off, the town was uplifted with tourism and gained a new

A humanitarian cause that I am interested in is Make–A–Wish
My friend Rebecca almost died several times in her life. Children like her need the motivation to
help fight for their lives. The Make–A–Wish program motivates children by granting wishes to
those children who suffer from a deadly disease like my friend, Rebecca. Rebecca was born with
two deadly diseases; Spina Bifida, and Turner's Syndrome. Spina Bifida is a disease where a baby
has a hole in his/her spine. Turner's Syndrome causes shortness, heart defects, and infertility.
According to Make–A–Wish's website, their mission is to change the lives of the kids they serve. In
2015, Rebecca's sister–in–law stated Rebecca was again seriously ill. Offering Rebecca a wish,
Make–A–Wish bestowed it, and the family accepted the wish to give Rebecca a goal to motivate her
to recuperate and leave the hospital. Make–A–Wish began in the 1980's, and grants kids' wishes
every 35 minutes. The program has granted more than 180,000 wishes! I will talk about the first
child, Chris, who asked for a wish, Rebecca's life, and about her wish. Here's Chris's story.
