to avoid accidents of pedestrians using IR sensors,high intensity lights and it is also used to capture the attention of the person in the driving seat
5. INTRODUCTION:
Pedestrians are a particular vulnerable segment of traffic.
When a pedestrians choose to walk down a street with a
high level of motor vehicle traffic , they are
automatically putting themselves at great risk for an
accident.
So, crosswalk warning light system is introduced for
warning drivers that a pedestrian has entered a crosswalk
by shining a light onto the crosswalk and any pedestrians
in the crosswalk.

7. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:
The IR sensors detects a pedestrian entering the
crosswalk.
It activates a light that is aimed across the street in order
to project a beam of light from one end of the crosswalk
to the other.
Thus the driver sees this beam of light and is warned of
the presence of a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
The light system is timed so as to deactivate the light
source after a predetermined interval of time.
The system is automated by the microcontroller 8051.
9. MICROCONTROLLER(8051):-
It have 8 bit Data bus.
It have 8 bit Stack Pointer.
It have 16 bit Program Counter.
It have 16 bit address bus which can
access almost 65,536 memory
locations.
Data memory or RAM of 128
bytes.(On-Chip).
Program Memory or ROM of 4
KB.(On Chip).
10. CONCLUSION:
High visibility marking of the crosswalk light system
enhances the noticeability of the crosswalks to drivers
who aren’t familiar with the location.
Pedestrian can manually active these system by simply
pressing the push button.
Because of these high intensity lights , drivers can easily
recognize the pedestrians even in foggy conditions or in
rainy conditions.
The system is cost effective and easy install near
intersections or at roads of high traffic flow.
