2. I. ABSTRACT
The main objective is to reduce road accidents caused by drunken
drivers, To avoid this problem, we want to develop an automatic engine
locking system. That is if a person(driver) tries to drive a vehicle after
consumption of alcohol, The engine of the vehicle will automatically
locked precisely. By using GPS module we can track the position of the
vehicle and it also sends a message by using GSM to the registered
number.
3. II. INTRODUCTION
Nowadays we see and hear a lot of accidents cases caused due to
drunken driving( by drunken drivers). Drunken drivers will no longer be
in Solid circumstance and so the rash driving is inconvenience for other
road users and also question of life and death for them. On this
undertaking, we decide to develop an automatic engine locking system
for drunken drivers. The input of this gadget(as small device for
particular purpose) is from detection of sensors either from alcohol
analyzer, The controller keeps tracking the sensors, once the threshold
reached the system alerts. If there are trace of alcohol then the system
will automatically lock the engine. The engine will be activated through
relay and the complete manner is performed by 8051 microcontroller.
4. III. LITERATURE REVIEW
As the number of accidents are increasing day by day continuous
tracking of the causes for accidents is necessary .The root cause is
identification of drunkness, drowsiness of driver and irrelevant behavior
of the vehicle. Some systems are proposed in this regard.
In this paper our main focus is to provide solution to the above issues
with certain characteristics, with continuous monitoring of alcohol
consumption.
5. IV. PROPOSED SOLUTION
The main purpose behind this project is “Drunken driving detection”.
Now-a-days, many accidents are happening because of the alcohol
consumption of the driver or the person who is driving the vehicle. Thus
drunk driving is a major reason of accidents in almost countries all over
the world. Alcohol Detector in Car project is designed for the safety of
the people seating inside the car. This project should be fitted / installed
inside the vehicle. By implementing this design a safe car journey is
possible and also drunken drivers can be controlled. Government must
enforce laws to install such circuit in every car and must regulate all car
companies to preinstall such mechanisms while manufacturing the car
itself. If this is achieved the deaths due to drunken drivers can be brought
to minimum level. In this type of system, future scope can be safely
landing of car aside without disturbing other vehicles.
6. V. MATERIALS USED
1. Power supply(+5V)
2. MQ3 Alcohol sensor
3. GPS
4. GSM
5. LM324
6. Buzzer
7. DC motor
8. LCD
9. AT89S52 Microcontroller
7. VI. METHODOLOGY
In this proposed system uses MQ3 alcohol sensor with AT89s52
Microcontroller along with GSM module to send message notification
for users number, We also used a global positioning system use to get the
location of vehicles in latitude and longitude. When the alcohol
consumption is detected the location of the vehicle will be tracked, LCD
Display to identify the alcohol is detected or not and DC motor to sensed
by the alcohol and it automatically stop the motor. And the system check
the permissible limit then the sensor will be triggered the processor about
the respective voltage. Thus the system will automatically stop the motor
and it send message to the users.
9. VIII. CONCLUSION
We conclude that, in our project we are working on a real time model
that can automatically lock the engine when a drunken driver tries to
drive a car. Nowadays car accidents are mostly seen. By fitting this
alcohol sensor into the car, we can save guard the life of the driver and
also the remaining passengers.
