2. Exposition
The Exposition of the film will introduce the setting, scene
and characters. This is important because the exposition will
need to hook the viewer, and give them an insight into the
action that will unfold.
In our exposition we will introduce the characters (Hero and
Villain), and introduce part of the storyline through a
character flashback from the โHeroโ of an event that has
just taken place.
3. Development
The development is significant to the film as it progresses a
situation and introduces more characters into the action.
In our film opening we will introduce a character briefly who is
the brother (Jason) of the Hero (Antonio). The hero Antonio
will go to his brothers house after a drug deal went bad and
someone tried to kill him.
The two characters will talk about the problem which has
occurred to the hero, and they will discuss briefly what they
might be able to do to resolve this problem.
4. Complication
The complication is something that will happen in the film to
complicate the lives of the characters.
For our film we have decided that the main character
(Antonio) will be betrayed by his brother (Jason). At first
Antonio will not know that is was his brother who set him up.
Jason will have paid a man called โHectorโ to kill Antonio,
but Antonio will only figure this out when he gets back to
Jasonโs house, after the set up didnโt go to plan.
This introduces a complication as Antonio will not want to
have to kill his brother, however he may be left with no
choice.
5. Climax
The climax is the decisive moment which is reached in the
film. At this point suspense will be high.
Antonio would have dealt with Hector at some point in the
film, however the climax is reached when Antonio is forced
to stand off against his brother Jason. This will create
suspense as the two brothers will have to fight each other in
order to survive, as there is no chance of redemption.
Both men will pull guns on each other after a conversation
about family and betrayal. This will be the peak of the
climax as suspense will be at its highest during this point.
6. Resolution
The resolution is when matters are resolved and a satisfactory
end is reached for the viewers.
Antonio will defeat Jason in a battle to the death and will be
standing looking over the dead body.
Viewers will feel satisfied with this ending as Antonio the Hero
will have triumphed over the betrayal of his brother Jason the
villain.
Viewers would be able to see that Antonio is upset about the
situation and therefore will not dislike him as a character, as
they will recognise that he is not pleased about what he had to
do.
