2. Avantec’s M2RTM
• Avantec has developed the M2R™ Reactor which uses
membrane technology to generate chlorine dioxide and
other antimicrobials in a controlled-release manner where
water or moisture is present.
• The M2RTM
is a patented, portable, shelf-stable device for
small and medium scale point-of-use applications of ClO2.
• Avantec’s M2RTM
can generate and deliver chlorine dioxide
in either aqueous solution or as a gas in air.

entering/leaving animal farms and international borders to
ensure public safety against pathogenic microorganisms
(e.g. avian flu).
5. On-Site Wastewater Treatment
• More than 25 million homes in the US without access to
community sewage systems use on-site treatment systems
to process their wastewater
--The Groundwater Foundation
• These systems take advantage of natural processes to
remove contaminants from water entering the groundwater
system
• Used in the disinfection step of on-site wastewater
treatment, chlorine dioxide effectively kills bacteria, viruses
and oocysts before they can be released into the
environment
• The market potential for Avantec’s M2RTM
in on-site
wastewater treatment is over $9 billion/ year.
6. On-Site Wastewater Disinfection System
• Avantec is collaborating with The Ohio State University and United
States Geological Survey to develop an on-site wastewater
disinfection system using Avantec’s M2RTM
ClO2 technology.
• An automatic pouch dispensing device is being developed and will
be integrated into the system for precise ClO2 dosage for wastewater
disinfection before discharging to irrigation field.
• This system would only require monthly servicing and maintenance
• Avantec and OSU will share the patent for this system
