Interview

Part A
As an interviewer, I learned that it is of great essence to identify the purpose of the interview before hand and frame the questions that will enable you to obtain as much information as possible about the intended topic from the interviewee. Failure to frame your questions beforehand will make one run out of ideas about the nature of questions that he or she should pose to the interviewee while the interview is still going on.
Such a scenario would be very intimidating as the interviewee may have the perception that you are simply wasting his or her valuable time, which he or she would have spent doing some other more productive work. In that regard, it is always advisable to prepare all the questions that you consider as necessary, depending on the purpose of your interview, well before the interview date (Kvale & Brinkmann, 2009).
It is also necessary prior to getting to the interview, to identify the opening techniques that you will put into use while initiating the interviewing process. This is since the opening technique applied gives the interviewee the first impression about the interviewer and greatly affects his or her willingness to not only participate within the interview but also offer detailed responses to the posed questions (Kvale & Brinkmann, 2009).
In that regard, it is necessary to make use of opening techniques that will greatly assist in establishing vibrant rapport with the interviewee. Examples of ideal opening techniques include offering the interviewee warm greetings, giving him a brief introduction about yourself, as well as, making known to him the purpose of conducting the interviewing. Most of all, it is necessary to appear composed and systematic for the interviewee to consider you as professional.
It should also be noted that there are some things that do not usually work out as anticipated during the interviewing process. Opting to make use of opening techniques such as indulging in a chit-chat about the weather or the current issues in the political world may make the interviewee doubt whether you have any important issues to talk about (Kvale & Brinkmann, 2009). In addition, use of normalizing comments such as “You got quite a pretty office” may make one sound petty whereas other normalizing comments may considered as demeaning. Putting into consideration that I realized that most of the normalizing comments end up sounding unprofessional, it is the only thing that I will avoid next time I conduct an interview as all other things worked out well.
Part B
Concerning the Thinking Habits of the Mind, Heart, as well as, Imagination, I got to learn various things from the organizational leader that I interviewed. In the first place, I got to learn that in life, learning is continuous hence one should consider each experience as a chance to learn something new (Costa & Kallick, 2008). In addition, it is necessary to practice communicating effectively in.

communicating effectively in a professional manner to not only
inform and influence but also promote interaction.
Furthermore, courageous actions assist in making well
supported decisions, as well as, acting within ambiguous
situations. In addition, one should make efforts to construct
meaning by obtaining, as well as, synthesizing difference
knowledge sources to enrich understanding. Besides, it is
necessary to collaborate with the objective of accomplishing a
common purpose through the integration of personal initiative
together with group cohesion (Costa & Kallick, 2008).
