Asking the Right Questions
Convincing others to buy into an idea, a product, or an initiative requires listening and communicating effectively. Asking the right questions can help people to open up and to discuss upcoming changes more freely, while understanding that they have a voice in the process.
Scenario: Your company has developed a new initiative or product, or it is introducing a change to technology or personnel that will affect your team and its daily working environment. You are tasked with gathering buy-in from your team, as well as learning if they have any objections to this initiative.
You call a meeting with your team:
Briefly describe the new initiative and why it is important (e.g., a reorganization, a new product, a new technology, etc.)
Draft three questions for your team designed to gain buy-in and support for this new initiative
Next, share your communication strategy with us:
How will you know if your questioning was effective?
Your team needs to know they have a voice - during this meeting, how did you let them know you are listening to them and that their opinion matters?
Post your initial response by Wednesday, midnight of your time zone, and reply to at least 2 of your classmates' initial posts by Sunday, midnight of your time zone.
I hope this will be helpful:
There are four questions (4) to answer in your Discussion Post.
Please make sure you do all the week's readings and listen to the videos before answering the following questions:
1.
What is the new initiative and why it is important (e.g. a reorganization, a new product, a new technology, etc.)?
• Explain to the class and me what the new initiative or product is. Why it is important? Make sure to explain why the team's input is so important.
2.
You are going to ask your team three (3) questions that will generate a healthy conversation about this new initiative or product. Draft these questions and share them with us.
• In your readings this week, you will learn about open-ended and closed-ended questions. You need open-ended questions as they give you the most information. As Munter says this week, open-ended questions are designed to elicit the most information from others (1). They usually contain the words, what, why or how.
3.
When you ask your team these three questions, explain to us how you will know if your questioning was effective?
You need to ask questions that prompt a conversation because that is how you will gain, as Jack said,
"get every brain in the game" (Welch, 2).
The discussions will let you know that your questions were effective.
One of the most important ingredients for buy-in and winning is trust. Without this, it is unlikely that the stakeholders will show support for your initiative. Trust can be gained by candor and transparency, creating a connection, and communicating clearly. If
you have candid and transparent discussions with your team, the answers they give will let you know that your que.
Most Common Clinical Research Site Worries and ComplaintsTrialJoin
All clinical research sites, especially new ones who’ve just entered the business, have a couple of common worries and complaints. The clinical research field is complicated and there are tons of formalities, papers, vendors, rules, regulations, etc. Taking into consideration the sensitivity of this business, the fact that human participants are involved, as well as the large amount of money that sponsors spend on a research, we have to work as professionally as possible.
There are many steps involved in a clinical trial, starting from the site selection visit, negotiations, then routine monitoring visits, subject enrollment and randomization, etc. All of these steps are equally important in order to conduct a successful trial. However, the complexity of the clinical research process usually worries and confuses new research sites. We’ve done a research on some of the most common site worries and complaints throughout the duration of a trial. Below, we’ll give you answers to all your questions.

Making More Money (Workbook): Simple Strategies for Improving Cash Flow and P...jrd9234
Improvement is about helping you make more money—it’s not about change for the sake of change. Many organizations try to apply the tools of improvement to things that don’t make a difference—like shuffling deck chairs on a sinking ship. Real improvement gets to the root of organizational problems and addresses those problems with lasting solutions.
The principles of improvement apply to every kind of organization—regardless of size or structure. There is no organization anywhere which can’t benefit from improvement. As my late friend and mentor Bill Conway used to wryly say, “The normal state of everything is all screwed up.” This statement is axiomatically true because we tend to accept “screwed up” as the normal state of things. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Finding waste usually involves a significant change in mindset—and a willingness to question the way we do things now. To paraphrase a famous quote from Einstein, we can’t solve our problems without first changing the way we think. Or to use Bill Conway’s expression, we can’t do improvement unless we “get our squash right.” With that in mind, the exercises in this workbook are designed to help you uncover areas where significant improvement is not only possible, but absolutely necessary. You may find opportunity in places you never would have expected.

Two GCU library scholarly databases that will help me find the best research articles for my proposal are two databases that I appreciate, and currently use often: CINAHL Complete and PubMed. I like CINAHL Complete because it is quite specific to nursing. It also provides many full text articles free of charge, which is unfortunately not that common. Some databases provide only abstracts, and some require one to purchase the article (which can be 50 dollars!). I like PubMed because it has a wide array of health science articles that are peer-reviewed, but often have language that is easier to understand. PubMed is also quite user friendly.
These two databases are better than Google Scholar and/or a general internet search, for several reasons. While Google Scholar provides scholarly articles, it can sometimes be difficult to limit the search. Inexperienced users an easily become overwhelmed with the amount of data the search returns. A general internet search is not only daunting in terms of qualified research, but can be dangerous as well: Wikipedia sources, the evil of internet research, are often returned with general internet searches. Anyone can post on Wikipedia (and the internet in general). Scholarly databases are the safe way to go: safe for the researcher, and safe for the patients under the researcher’s

Acel Rx Pharmaceuticals Inc. has always provided quality service to its clients but the adoption of an online drugstore is a project that could make the services even better. However, various measures have to be put into place to facilitate the success of the project.
Strategies to Adapt Organizational Change
To adopt the online marketing and networking with customers then the Acel Rx Pharmaceuticals Inc. has to undergo some organizational change. Though the internet is the Internet could enable profound changes in the nature and structure of the healthcare industry and, ultimately, the delivery of healthcare services its adaptions should be strategic. First, there is need to carry out the change in phases with the start-up phase being clarifying the expectations and roles, assessing readiness, contracts and getting buy-in. In this phase is usually where the relationship between you (the initial change agent) and your client starts, whether you are an external or internal consultant. This means that Acel has to establish who its clients actually are, define the project conduct field research on the opinions of the customers after which they have to make the customers feel the problem at hand and the need to adopt this new technology which is aimed at making things better. It is important that the change agent should have good communication skills both verbal and non-verbal and a good listener.

Innovation and Opportunity IdentificationPeachy Essay
However, circumstances can be turned into opportunities but with conditions. There are many ways to prepare for circumstances that will wilt opportunities depending on the field of interest. Of course, innovation is key but one has to also continually seek and utilize opportunities.
However, identifying an opportunity especially in business relies heavily on four areas. These areas have been associated with many business opportunities across the world and many people continue to acquire more from them
1.1.The words ‘data’ and ‘information’ are often used as though they.pdfaquadreammail
1.1.The words ‘data’ and ‘information’ are often used as though they mean exactly the same
thing, but there is a difference. Data are the undigested facts and figures that are collected on
innumerable subjects. You may gather data yourself or use data that have been gathered by other
people.
1.2..Strengths, weaknesses and suggestions. for the main other information sources reviewed .
1.3.The data must be collected carefully because organisation decision-making processes are
based on the generated information from this data. While selecting data and information for
decision-making we must apply some criteria to this selection such as accuracy, validity, clarity
etc.
1.4.
However simple or complex your data set, think about what you might need to do to ensure that
your management of the data respects the terms of your consent, and in particular, the
confidentiality and anonymity that participants were promised.
Take advice from relevant staff in your institution. Your Data Protection manager can advise you
on protocols for handling personal data. Your computing or information services department
should be able to advise you on setting up secure databases for the different forms of data that
will be generated by your research.
As with everything in this guidebook, the earlier you can start to think about these issues, the
better. When you are preparing your research proposal, you need to plan for data management -
this is a requirement for ESRC applications, and increasingly for other funders. If your work will
generate complex or sensitive datasets, you may need to plan and cost some time for a database
manager or information specialist to develop and manage the systems that you need to keep your
data secure.
Do you have suitable arrangements in place for archiving data? Befor you access or collect your
data, you should check institution what requirements they have in place for data storage, and
what facilities are available (e.g. for data archiving).
2.2. Identify a problem or opportunity, Gather information, Analyze the situation,Develop
options, Evaluate alternatives, Select a preferred alternative,Act on the decision.
2.3.There are numerous ways of presenting data to a client but you have to ask yourself several
questions. Who is the client? To what will they respond best? What response do you require?
Will the information and the decisions you made be transferrable between presentational styles?
Will it be a formalpresentation or can you have some fun?
Once you have answered these questions you can then set about shaping your presentation.
Personally if you are able to do so (as in whether the environment within which you will be
presenting is accommodating and data allows you do) I would recommend the use of pictures,
charts and visual stimuli as much as possible; a picture paints a thousand words after all. Of
course if the decisions you have made cannot be transferred into numerical data any pie charts,
bar graphs or statistical analysi.

Agency Description and Research Instrument’s Application
My topic of interest is on figuring out the effectiveness of the juvenile justice system on lowering the delinquency rate, specifically those that undergo legislative waivers. These studies are of more significance as they mainly give extra information concerning the effect of the legislative waivers on juvenile offenders. This gives a viewpoint of ways the device wishes to be changed regarding the identical. Many interview inquiries consist of the program and the service that is offered in an agency. Questions are, what are your responsibilities? Who are the people who receive the services, and how are they connected to the agency? Do you feel the juvenile children are ready to get back to the community and become productive? From your personal experience, have you ever worked with any discharge plan that deals with correction and, was it effective? What are the requirements that one needs to be able to access the services that are offered in the agency? Does the agency that you work for a charge, and if they charge, how much is the charges? Name the common barriers that the clients face and, what are the strategies that you apply to assist them in dealing with these barriers? What time or the duration it takes for the clients to receive the services that they need, and according to you, do you feel it is sufficient? Can you state any policies or laws that restrict the successful ex-offender re-entry back into the community? What do you think will need to be added by the professional to make sure there is successful re-entry back into the community?
The interviewees may be the contributors of the judiciary and teens who are juveniles, and those that are in rehabilitation. The questions will contain principal questions and associated questions that are related to the center question. For the interview facts to be captured more successfully, the interviews may be recorded. This method allows researchers to collect open-end data to explore the respondent’s thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about the topic in question.
Some tips for the on-site system are keeping the surroundings secure and informal; this may encourage the respondents to think the interviewer is interested in communication. Explaining why the interview is important and stressing the advantage of the examination to the respondent is too important. Additionally, it is going to involve the usage of language that the respondent can comperhend. The length of the interview should be brief, and the respondent should be assured that identity is unknown and not discovered (Redding, 2008).
After covering all the relevant subjects, the interview ends. However, the interview can be stopped in advance if the respondent appears to be uncomfortable. It will also be proper to ensure that the interview is carried out in an area that has correct recording situations for an excellent recording to take place.

This article discusses creative problem solving plus its procedure. This article states that creative problem is not just brainstorming in which a lot of people associate it with. J. Baumgartner states that creative problem solving is a simple procedure that breaks down the problem to really undersupplies it plus involves generating ideas to find a solution. There stand seven steps involved in this procedure: Clarify plus identify the problem (this is the most important step as it finds the real problem or goal), research the problem (this helps to get a better underutilizing), formulate creative challenges (this is a simple question that will encourage suggestions), generate ideas (brainstorming), combine plus evaluate the ideas (choose ideas that meet the criteria), draw up an action plan (use simple steps), do it! (implement the ideas). The end of this article states that if organizations fail to use the creative problem solving than the systems plus techniques normally fail.

Execution can be broken down into three parts comprised of big ideas, people, plus procedure. The big ideas portion consists mainly of promoting innovation, structure the proper culture, plus removing any barriers. The people portion is important because people related issues stand generally barriers to execution. A critical part of implementing innovation is acquiring plus keeping the right people. The proper people will help ensure all employees stand engaged plus contribute to innovation. Procedure is broken down into generating ideas, screening, testing, analysis, beta tests, product expansion technicalities, commercialization, plus post-launch review. The purpose of procedure is to make sure outcomes stand attained, plus the procedure is repeatable from beginning to end.

Discussion 1
1. In terms of production strategy, should Boone stick with mass production or try something else? Explain.
Personally, I think they should keep mass producing the product to a certain extent. Elvis’s current goal is “to make the product or service more attractive to potential and actual users so that demand is created” (Coyle et al., 2017, p. 173). Having the option to modify and customize the club to a customer’s liking means that there really isn’t a solid way to predict the demand of each customizable item. Elvis can therefore manufacture a certain number of different options and provide them to their vendors as store models that can go on display at their locations. This would allow customers to view and test out the clubs and then give them the option to special order the variation that they like the most. Elvis can mass produce booklets that hold all the options for the different customization options and distribute them to vendors along with the clubs. Customers can then choose their options and submit their orders directly to a store employee, who could then input the order directly to Elvis. This would “kill two birds with one stone” by giving customers what they want, while creating demand for Elvis without forcing them to mass produce every single component of the different club variations.
3. What do you think of Parker’s idea to outsource the manufacturing of the King?
Outsourcing could very well be cheaper than producing the King in house. Outsourcing all phases of manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution to maintain flexibility in design and production could potentially eliminate the need for extensive fixed assets and leverage excess capacity (Paulk, 2002). Building demand plays a central role to the acceptance of the King in the marketplace and the success of Elvis. Retailers and OEMs will not purchase component products without demonstrated demand from the market, and golfers will not be motivated to switch brands unless they are convinced of the benefits of this partially new product. However, the struggle would be in finding the right company who is able to complete the task well and do it in a timely manner so that Elvis does not fall behind on getting the orders out to their retailers and customers.

1. In terms of production strategy, should Boone stick with mass production or try something else? Explain.
For all of the current circumstances revolving Boone I would have to advice against mass production. Usually you get more benefits out of mass production in cases where high demand items are grouped collectively together. With the increase in offerings from 1 to 72 new production process forecasting will be too difficult. An option could be to mass produce until you meet your target goals then scale back on production to just maintain. Making orders based solely upon consumer request then you can prevent over production and still meet demands.

Skype. It has a substantial market share (and mindshare), many people use it daily, yet nearly every core component of the program is seen as being out of date. The Skype corporation has been operating online for more than 20 years, and by spreading the word about its ability to make audio and video conversations via the internet instead of over the phone, it has grown its subscriber base.
Surveys, focus groups with observation, and floating questionnaires to clients who have used this product at least once are the finest ways to learn about the present status of the business and, consequently, the main product offering. COMMONALITY AND DIVERSITY OF OPERATING SYSTEMS 2
Maintaining a strong security system in the networking environment to prevent any form of attack and compromise information has been a formidable problem in recent times. There is fairly a small number of operating systems compared to the vast number of computer systems that are in operation. This situation has created a leeway for cyber attackers to target the systems easily (Palmer, 2010). Cyber attackers have formulated diverse techniques to exploit the homogeneity of the network environment. This article will explore the benefits related to diversity and commonality in the event of a malicious attack.
The purpose of any security strategy is to completely eliminate or at least limit the impact of damage to a successful attack on a particular system. At some point, any computer can be vulnerable to malware attacks, and the most important aspect in a case like this is to achieve an optimum level of preparedness. Diversity of the operating systems is beneficial in several ways, though an organization could incur an extra operational cost. Moving some groups of users to various different operating systems helps avert the overall damage caused by the SQL Slammer and MSBlast worms. Malicious-code attacks directed towards the commonly used operating system, windows, have been so rampant, thereby necessitating the need for improved security procedures of the computers (Anderson & Anderson, 2010).
Significant operational damages have been incurred before by businesses and enterprise to extensive downtime, brought about by malware attacks. Adopting diversity in operating systems comes along with several security benefits;
· Helps contain malicious-code attacks- Virus and worm attacks target and exploit the flaws in windows operating systems. In a case like this, availing an alternative operating system would be critical in helping to contain the spread to other PCs owned by the business. The impact of the attack is leveled down since some core business can be carried out in the event of an attack.
· Directing some pressure towards Microsoft- Health competition among service and commodity provider is beneficial for the consumers. Being diversified in terms of operating systems pushes dominant companies like Microsoft to try so hard to meet the security needs of their customers.
· It helps speed up innovations in the sense that other operating system developers will work towards improving their operating systems to match that of the windows. Such innovations include stable security systems that prevent malware from instilling too much damage to the computer system.
Exercising commonality in the usage of operating systems comes with its own benefits, too, especially when dealing with a malicious attack. The business would not incur too much cost, in the event of a .

Common symptoms of memory changes during the lifetime in healthy.docxcargillfilberto
Common symptoms of memory changes during the lifetime in healthy people generally start gradually beginning with those associated with episodic memory i.e. forgetting names of people or details of personally experienced events. While semantic memory does not decline in the same way and can in fact be equal to those of younger people, aging adults typically access general knowledge and information more slowly (Dixon et al., 2006).This is a sign of declining working memory which encompasses processing speed, attentional capability/distractibility and problem solving (Dixon et al., 2006; Richmond et al., 2011). Another type of memory change may stem from a decline in sensory acuity. For example, loss of vision, hearing, taste and smell would all impact how stimuli are encoded and will contribute to additional attentional interference (Wolfe & Horowitz, 2004)
Compared with expected changes in memory functioning over the lifespan, pathological conditions such as anterograde amnesia and loss of semantic memory are much more debilitating. Since typically developing memory decline is gradual and centers around past experiences rather than general knowledge, people are often able to adapt to their “forgetfulness” with the assistance of formal and informal compensatory strategies such as more effortful attention, associative learning of new information, making to-do lists, keeping a journal and/or relying on another close individual to fill in missing pieces of stories and events (Dixon et al., 2006)
While typically aging adults may make a to-do list but have to spend time trying to find where they left it, in the case of anterograde amnesia, this sort of strategy would be ineffective. This is because these individuals would have no memory of even making a list since they have lost the ability to form new memories (Squire & Wixted, 2011). People with this condition are likely to become easily confused in social situations involving unfamiliar people since they will not retain any introductory information provided.
Loss of semantic memory would also be more negatively impactful than loss of episodic memory because an individual would lose the ability to make sense of objects in their everyday environment. For example, they make not be able to identify what a television or a toilet is or what each item is used for. As is the case with anterograde amnesia, compensatory strategies that are effective for typical aging memory decline could not be used for semantic memory loss since the individuals would not be able to engage in metamemory cognitions that would enable them to identify their areas of deficit and the most appropriate strategies to address these (Squire & Wixted, 2011). In addition, in both conditions, the individual would require a high level of external support to live safely.

Common Surface-Level Issues for the Informative Essay
(Note: These Surface-Level Issues will be the only grammar/mechanics issues that I will look for in this paper. I will add more in subsequent papers.)
· Have a title! Every written work has a title; yours should be no exception. (The title should be something interesting, and NOT Assignment 1 or Informative Essay!)
· Neither authors nor articles SAY anything (same thing with TALKS ABOUT) – it’s a text. “Anderson argues…” or “Jones believes…” or “Brown states…”
· Always write about the article (or any source you are use) in the present tense. It is a text, which means it always exists in the present. Even if the author is dead, the text is not. This means “Smith notes…” not “Smith noted…”
· The titles of articles belong in quotations marks. Italics are for books and movies.
· Make sure your writing is more formal than your speech – there should be no “I was so freaked out” or “I was totally bummed.” This is a formal essay, so even though it is personal, your writing should reflect formality. Don’t use slang.
· Do not use the word “you” (the second person) in a formal essay. People use it a lot to try to generalize. “You think the Internet is safe, but it’s not.” Instead, you can write, “Many people think the Internet is safe, but it’s not.”
· Avoid using too many rhetorical questions in your essay. A few are fine for effect, but be careful how and why you use them. It is generally not considered a good idea to begin paragraphs with a rhetorical question either.
· Notice how I changed it to, “MANY people think…” rather than, “EVERYONE thinks…” Be careful that you don’t assume too much about what people in general think.
· Introduce all quotes. They should not be their own sentences. (Also a reminder that the first time you introduce a source you need to give that source credibility so it is clear that the source has expert knowledge.)
Grammar/Mechanics Issues:
· Make sure all of the punctuation is correct. One thing to remember is that the quotation marks go right after the quote, not after the in-text citations parentheses.
· Make sure everything is spelled correctly. One thing to look for: there/their/they’re issues as well as to/too/two. Those are the most common, but there are others, of course.
· Subject/verb agreement. This is pretty-straightforward, and means looking for things like, “There is some more of those in the other room.” And, “My brother receive the prize for the best haircut.”
· Sentence fragments/run-on sentences. Make sure that all your sentences. Have a complete thought! Also, make sure they do not have too many thoughts in them because that means that it is a run-on sentence and that means that it can be too confusing for your readers if you include too much in one sentence, so you will want to be sure to break it up. (
Formatting/Documentation Issues
· Make sure the paper is written in 12 point Times New Roman font with 1 inch margins on all sides. .

It can be very helpful to identify the target audience and to provide useful inputs that could help define a future state for the product. Data obtained from online surveys through various e-commerce platforms with which the company has partnerships, data obtained from social media channels, and data from websites. Locals can provide insightful information that will serve as clear prompts for the company's R&D team as they plot the course for upcoming innovations or enhancements to current products.
Customer and influencer marketing-provided product evaluations are another crucial metric that may assist a business discover what consumers like and dislike about a product, as well as how they perceive its value, quality, and ability to effectively clean their teeth, among other things.
· Make sure the paper is written in 12 point Times New Roman font with 1 inch margins on all sides. .

Common sports-relatedshoulder injuriesShoulder pain is.docxcargillfilberto
Common sports-related
shoulder injuries
S
houlder pain is commonly treated in general practice; its causes are often
multi-factorial. The focus of this article is on sports-related shoulder injuries
likely to be seen in the community. This article aims to overview the presen-
tation, assessment and management of these conditions in general practice.
The GP curriculum and common sports-related shoulder injuries
Clinical module 3.20: Care of people with musculoskeletal problems lists the learning objectives required
for a GP to manage common sports-related shoulder injuries in the community or refer for specialist management. In
particular, GPs are expected to be able to:
. Communicate health information effectively to promote better outcomes
. Explore the perceptions, ideas or beliefs the patient has about the condition and whether these may be acting as
barriers to recovery
. Use simple techniques and consistent advice to promote activity in the presence of pain and stiffness
. Agree treatment goals and facilitate supported self-management, particularly around pain, function and physical
activity
. Assess the importance and meaning of the following presenting features:
. pain: nature, location, severity, history of trauma
. variation of symptoms over time
. loss of function – weakness, restricted movement, deformity and disability, ability to perform usual work or
occupation
. Understand that reducing pain and disability rather than achieving a complete cure could be the goal of
treatment
. Understand indications and limitations of plain radiography, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance scans
. Diagnose common, regional soft-tissue problems that can be managed in primary care
. Understand the challenge that many musculoskeletal conditions might be better and more confidently managed
by other healthcare personnel rather than GPs, because most GPs do not gain the necessary treatment skills
during their training
. Refer those conditions which may benefit from early referral to an orthopaedic surgeon
The four most common categories of shoulder pain
seen in primary care are (Mitchell, Adebajo, Hay, &
Carr, 2005):
. Rotator cuff disorders (85% tendinopathy)
. Glenohumeral disorders
. Acromioclavicular joint disease, and
. Referred neck pain.
There are many different types of sports that can cause
acute or chronic shoulder injuries. In professional English
Rugby Union, for example, the most common match
injury is of the acromioclavicular joint (32% overall) and
the most severe injury requiring the longest time off
(mean of 81 days) is shoulder dislocation (Headey,
Brooks, & Kemp, 2007).
Shoulder injuries can also occur in non-contact sports,
such as golf, tennis, swimming and weightlifting.
Although shoulder injuries may be more common in con-
tact sports, the injury may have a larger impact on the
performance of individuals playing non-contact sports.
For example, golfers require very precise manoeuvres
of their dominant.
Common Law Strict Liability Introduction Strict liabilit.docxcargillfilberto
Common Law Strict Liability
Introduction: Strict liability, or liability without fault, is a category of unintentional torts
in which the wrongdoer may be held liable for harm to others even when exercising
utmost care and being as careful as possible. Strict liability applies to (1) abnormally
dangerous activities. Abnormally dangerous activities are those that involve a high risk
of serious harm to persons or property that cannot be completely eliminated even with
reasonable care, such as using and storing explosives, stunt flying, keeping wild
animals, and trespassing livestock.
Product Liability**
Introduction: Product liability, sometimes called strict product liability refers to cases in
which a person is injured by a product, or use of a product because the product is
defective in some way. When a product is defective it may become abnormally
dangerous although the product, when not defective, may be safe.
Please also see Instructor Notes link in week 2 for further details and explanation of
product liability.
**Strict product liability is often confused with the separate common law tort of strict
liability, sometimes referred to as “liability without fault”. Strict liability applies only to a
small category of abnormally dangerous activities, such as use of explosives, fireworks,
and stunt flying. Please see section above.
Warranties and Product Liability
Introduction: A warranty is a promise, or guarantee, by a seller or lessor that certain
facts are true of the goods being sold or leased. Types of warranties include (1)
warranties of title guaranteeing that the goods have clear and valid title, (2) express
warranties promising specific facts about the goods, and (3) implied warranties of
merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. A warranty creates a legal duty for
the seller or lessor; a non-breaching party can recover damages for breach of
warranty(ies). Because warranties are associated with the sale or lease of products,
breach of warranty claims are a part of product liability claims and manufacturers and
sellers of goods can be held liable for breach of warranty for defective products.
Warranties are subject to regulation under the UCC, product liability tort law, contract
law, and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
Product Liability**
Product liability, sometimes called strict product liability refers to cases in which a
person is injured by a product, or use of a product because the product is
defective in some way. When a product is defective it may become abnormally
dangerous although the product, when not defective, may be safe.
Definitions of a Defective Product in Product Liability
Products may become defective because of:
1) defective manufacture (so the product is "broken", not perfectly made, i.e., a product
is manufactured so that the electric wiring is improperly made/attached, etc. and may
cause a fire or cause elect.

Introduction Comment by Author: this needs to be centered and not in bold; it needs to be the title of your paper Comment by Author:
Common core is a standardized education tool that is being used in almost 43 states of America. It is like an outline that has various benchmarks which need to be completed at the end of each grade so that students can successfully learn. It is like having a check and balance on what the students should learn. The primary aim is to prepare learners of America for college and make sure that they are acquiring various skills. Although some people believe that Common Core has been a great model and useful for education, it is an unnecessary program to have in schools and needs to be eliminated for several reasons. Comment by Author: plural needed
However, this practice is disadvantageous for students as well as teachers because no other material knows better than the teachers about the needs, wants, and goals of the students. Teachers can easily teach their students after analyzing their needs and previous knowledge. Moreover, this tool is unconstitutional as it has been created by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and the Council of Chief State Officers with help from the Bill and Melissa Gates Foundation not the Department of Education. Comment by Author: choose a different phrase---“outer” is a bit awkward Comment by Author: Comment by Author: Comment by Author: rephrase this---“…can know about the needs, wants, and goals of students better than the classroom teacher.” Comment by Author: missing comma

The step to create a tool of education has not been taken by the Department of Education. Instead, it has been established by the National Governors Association and Council of Chief State School Officers with no input from the Department of Education. It means that they have taken the responsibility of making crucial decisions regarding policies of education and the standardized testing system from the authorities of states (Robins, 2013). Selecting Text Exemplars
The following text samples primarily serve to exemplify the level of complexity and quality that the Standards require
all students in a given grade band to engage with. Additionally, they are suggestive of the breadth of texts that stu-
dents should encounter in the text types required by the Standards. The choices should serve as useful guideposts in
helping educators select texts of similar complexity, quality, and range for their own classrooms. They expressly do
not represent a partial or complete reading list.
The process of text selection was guided by the following criteria:
• Complexity. Appendix A describes in detail a three-part model of measuring text complexity based on quali-
tative and quantitative indices of inherent text difficulty balanced with educators’ professional judgment in
matching readers and texts in light of particular tasks. In selecting texts to serve as exemplars, the work group
began by soliciting contributions from teachers, educational leaders, and researchers who have experience
working with students in the grades for which the texts have been selected. These contributors were asked to
recommend texts that they or their colleagues have used successfully with students in a given grade band. The
work group made final selections based in part on whether qualitative and quantitative measures indicated
that the recommended texts were of sufficient complexity for the grade band. For those types of texts—par-
ticularly poetry and multimedia sources—for which these measures are not as well suited, professional judg-
ment necessarily played a greater role in selection.
• Quality. While it is possible to have high-complexity texts of low inherent quality, the work group solicited only
texts of recognized value. From the pool of submissions gathered from outside contributors, the work group
selected classic or historically significant texts as well as contemporary works of comparable literary merit,
cultural significance, and rich content.
• Range. After identifying texts of appropriate complexity and quality, the work group applied other criteria to
ensure that the samples presented in each band represented as broad a range of sufficiently complex, high-
quality texts as possible. Among the factors considered were initial publication date, authorship, and subject
matter.
Copyright and Permissions
For those exemplar texts not in the public domain, we secured permissions and in some cases employed a conser-
vative interp.

Common Core
I) Introduction
A. Common Core is an educational tool that should not be used in our public schools.
B. Common Core is unconstitutional and is a disadvantage for teachers as well as students and their parents.
C. Although some people believe that Common Core has been a great model and useful for education, it is an unnecessary program to have in schools and needs to be eliminated for several reasons.
II) Body
A. Common core is unconstitutional.
· Common Core was not a concept done by the Department of Education (DOE).
· It was created by a company named Achieve, Inc. and released under two private associations, the National Governors Association (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO).
· Educational responsibility has been taken away from the states and local districts.
B. Common Core has not been embraced by teachers very well.
· Many teachers have had to adapt their style of teaching to accommodate the Common Core curriculum.
· It only focuses on three specific subjects such as Mathematics.
· Focuses more on “critical thinking” rather than knowledge.
C. It is not beneficial for students and their parents.
· Parents have a difficult time helping their children with homework because they do not understand the methods used to solve the problems.
· Prepares students more for the workforce, rather than college.
III) Refuting Opponents Arguments Comment by Author: You list opposing arguments, but you did not provide refutations.
D. States win more money
· States that implement Common Core have the chance to compete for Race to the Top money and a better chance at a No Child Left Behind Waiver.
E. Prepares students more efficiently
· Students who are taught Common Core are more prepared for college than others.
F. Statewide standards benefit students from other states
· Statewide based school standards allow teachers to assist better students who move frequently and are constantly changing schools.
IV) Conclusion
G. While for some Common Core is a success, it is still a nuisance that needs to be eliminated. It takes rights away from teachers, parents and schools.
H. A Disaster For Libraries, a disaster for Language Arts, a Disaster for American Education. Comment by Author: Not sure how this will play out, but just be sure that this does not present itself as new information. Comment by Author: Comment by Author:
I. Finally, there is no evidence that having national standards and increasing testing have improved student learning in the past.

Common Assignment Essay
Objective of this Assignment: This assignment will be used to evaluate student progress on the
course learning objectives. The assignment will be uploaded as a file on Blackboard.
Instructions: Students will follow the process outlined below to guide them in the development of a
comparative essay. The essay should be approximately 700-1000 words, and should include
footnotes.
➢ Step One: Essay Purpose / Relevance / The Task of a Historian
o Purpose: Students should consider why the topic of memorializing the Mexican
American War is a contemporary problem facing historians.
o Task of a Historian: Your work should clearly communicate the purpose of public history
sites (museums / battlegrounds / memorials), the current struggle between art and truth,
the reasons why this event has been ignored by previous generations / administrations,
and the societal impact of neglecting a major historic event.
o Relevance: Your work should consider the current facilities and public history sites
dedicated to honoring this event and its participants, as well as the funding and
supporters associated with those sites. (At a minimum you should examine the facilities
in Texas, however, there are links provided to steer you to other state /federal facilities).
Furthermore, you should consider the message provided at those sites / exhibits and
whether this message is satisfactory given the mission of public historians.
o You may copy and paste sections of your source analysis from the previous essay, just
pay attention to flow and be sure to utilize footnotes.
➢ Step Two: You must use these two sources. Read these first so you can understand the war,
and how it has or has not been remembered.
o REQUIRED SOURCE--"1848/1898: Memorial Day, Places of Memory, and Imperial
Amnesia" by Amy Greenberg in JSTOR
o REQUIRED SOURCE--"The Annexation of Texas and the Mexican War" by Z.T.
Fulmore in JSTOR
➢ Step Three: Study the information on current Mexican American War exhibits, battlegrounds,
monuments, dedications, etc. I have organized the suggested resources, emphasizing Texas
sites in the highly suggested category.

Commitment to Professionalism.
Due by Day 7
. As leaders in early childhood education we are in the unique position of creating partnerships with the community, organizations, and local government in an effort to promote the needs of the children we are serving. Through a program’s daily operation, we are witnesses to the specific issues that are facing the children, families, and community in which we work. When we highlight and broadcast these issues and advocate for a community’s needs, we are also advocating for increased awareness of the value and professionalism of the field of early childhood education. When we participate in advocating in our field we are further demonstrating that we are professionals that deserve to be valued and respected.
After reading the week’s text, write a reflection in two parts:
Part I
Identify the focus of your advocacy efforts and give an example of an issue you would like to address as an advocate.
Identify one individual or group (local policy maker, state-level legislator, corporate leader, etc.) that you can contact for support of your issue and provide a rationale for choosing this individual/group.
Describe the strategies you would use to gain the support needed for this issue through individual advocacy.
Describe the strategies you would use to attract the support needed for this issue through collective advocacy.
Create two talking points (as discussed in Chapter 13) using one
concrete example
(refer to key term in chapter reading for precise definition) for each point to demonstrate the importance of the issue.
These talking points should be appropriate to use when talking to legislators or the media about the issue for which you are advocating.
Part II
Create a Commitment to the Profession Statement. Remember, this is a draft that will continually be revised and modified as new information is acquired. Address the following:
Describe how you will advocate on behalf of young children, their families, and the profession.
Describe how you will support the development of future practitioners and leaders in the field.
Refer to Figure 13.1 “A Professional Continuum” and describe how your efforts will support the field away from
unskilled workers
and toward
paradigm professionals

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Asking the Right QuestionsConvincing others to buy into an i.docx
1. Asking the Right Questions
Convincing others to buy into an idea, a product, or an initiative
requires listening and communicating effectively. Asking the
right questions can help people to open up and to discuss
upcoming changes more freely, while understanding that they
have a voice in the process.
Scenario: Your company has developed a new initiative or
product, or it is introducing a change to technology or personnel
that will affect your team and its daily working environment.
You are tasked with gathering buy-in from your team, as well as
learning if they have any objections to this initiative.
You call a meeting with your team:
Briefly describe the new initiative and why it is important (e.g.,
a reorganization, a new product, a new technology, etc.)
Draft three questions for your team designed to gain buy-in and
support for this new initiative
Next, share your communication strategy with us:
How will you know if your questioning was effective?
Your team needs to know they have a voice - during this
meeting, how did you let them know you are listening to them
and that their opinion matters?
2. Post your initial response by Wednesday, midnight of your time
zone, and reply to at least 2 of your classmates' initial posts by
Sunday, midnight of your time zone.
I hope this will be helpful:
There are four questions (4) to answer in your Discussion Post.
Please make sure you do all the week's readings and listen to
the videos before answering the following questions:
1.
What is the new initiative and why it is important (e.g. a
reorganization, a new product, a new technology, etc.)?
• Explain to the class and me what the new initiative or product
is. Why it is important? Make sure to explain why the team's
input is so important.
2.
You are going to ask your team three (3) questions that will
generate a healthy conversation about this new initiative or
product. Draft these questions and share them with us.
• In your readings this week, you will learn about open-ended
and closed-ended questions. You need open-ended questions as
they give you the most information. As Munter says this
week, open-ended questions are designed to elicit the most
information from others (1). They usually contain the words,
3. what, why or how.
3.
When you ask your team these three questions, explain to us
how you will know if your questioning was effective?
You need to ask questions that prompt a conversation because
that is how you will gain, as Jack said,
"get every brain in the game" (Welch, 2).
The discussions will let you know that your questions were
effective.
One of the most important ingredients for buy-in and winning is
trust. Without this, it is unlikely that the stakeholders will show
support for your initiative. Trust can be gained by candor and
transparency, creating a connection, and communicating clearly.
If
you have candid and transparent discussions with your team,
the answers they give will let you know that your questions
were effective.
4. Your team needs to know they have a voice – during the
meeting, how will you let your team know you are listening to
them and that their opinion matters?
Being an effective communicator means learning to talk less
and to listen more. Explain how you will schedule times for the
team to meet and voice their opinions. Let them know that their
opinions will be incorporated into your initiative.
As you think about the DQ topic this week, you might enjoy the
article, “Key Tips for Active Listening” which includes the
importance of asking questions. See:

4. Respone 1
Scenario: Your company has developed a new initiative or
product, or it is introducing a change to technology or personnel
that will affect your team and its daily working environment.
You are tasked with gathering buy-in from your team, as well as

.
Background: My company is a clearinghouse that process
claims to various payers from hospitals and doctors’ offices.
The company’s name is Ultimate Billing. We developed a new
process called Management Access Process. It was designed to
enhance the patient financial experience and increase the
revenue cycle results for our future and current clients.
(I have a team of six individuals that will be directly working
with the beta sites, clients that volunteered to test the software).
Good Morning Team:
The R&D Department developed a new software process and we
were selected to oversee the implementation to our clients. The
Health Care Industry is lacking a “real-time” process such as
this and the projections are estimated to return an 80% percent
in revenue which would allow a forming of a new department
with several management opportunities. Therefore, your
opinions, suggestions or concerns are welcomed. On the last
Thursday of the month for the next 3 month we will be meeting
in the courtyard at 3:30 pm to discuss our progress. Will send
calendar invites as a reminder.
Management Access Process is designed relieve the hassle of
5. complex registration procedures collections processes allowing
front office personnel to concentrate on the patient rather than
policies.
The Process consists of the following component’s:
Address Verification
ID Verification
Eligibility/Compliance
CMS Medical Necessity
Estimation
Financial Follow up
The most important benefit within all the components is
everything happens in “real-time “for the front-end users, which
allows them to have access all the information that would
almost guarantee payment immediately for services rendered.
When the patient checks into the doctors’ office or
hospital with address verification it immediately confirms if
correct address, the same would happen with the patient’s id
just using the ID verification piece that prevents potential
identify fraud.
Eligibility and Medical Necessity checks the claims codes and
diagnosis against Compliance guidelines and CMS’s
requirements as soon the information is entered for the
requested procedure for patient. It lets the provider know if
codes are covered by the patients’ insurance company.
6. Estimation and Financial Follow sounds just what it is, gives
the patients an estimate of what they are responsible for then
based on the procedures the doctor has ordered or have
performed. The follow up makes it easier for the provider to
reach the patient after services have been rendered for payment.
Three (3) questions that will generate a healthy conversation
about this new initiative or product
.
CMS come out with quarterly updates, how will the CMS
Medical Necessity edits and requirements be updated to the
client to ensure when the necessity component is activated or
run against the claim, the information it returns with is current
and or valid?
2. With the ID Verification, how will it handle, if the provider
sees the father and son as patients, they both share the same
address, name, and date of birth but except for the suffix of Jr.,
II and Sr., in which they may or may not use. How will the
verification query and confirm the correct information for the
correct patient in a real-time environment?
Eligibility is typically supposed to reduce the claim rejection
rate for the clients and increasing the clients revenues, most
clients have to account for a high claim rejection rate, how will
Eligibility allow the client to track all the re-billed claims that
were previously rejected within the same month? and will those
statistics affect in the clients end of month revenues.?

RE: Week 3 Discussion
COLLAPSE
Hello Everyone,
1
.
What is the new initiative and why it is important (e.g. a
reorganization, a new product, a new technology, etc.)?
Aircraft records digitization
It involves the scanning of aircraft records from back to birth
and saving them on the cloud. We have been postponing this
process for the past six months, but with the current COVID-19
pandemic, we have had to prioritize the activity to make
working from home a reality.
Even though this whole process is tedious and time-consuming,
the benefits are immense. With the digitization, all the aircraft
records will be one click away. As a result, the time and energy
used to retrieve these records will reduce. Similarly, the
documents will be accessible from any location.
8. 2. You are going to ask your team three (3) questions that will
generate a healthy conversation about this new initiative or
product. Draft these questions and share them with us.
How would it be like to have all the aircraft records one click
away?
What would it take to have all the records, digitized, and
uploaded to the cloud?
What are some of the challenges that we may experience while
implementing this project? How can we overcome these
challenges?
3. When you ask your team these three questions, explain to us
how you will know if your questioning was effective?
Reading the team’s body language and how they answer the
questions will be vital in knowing the effectiveness of the
questions. If the team members engage one another, ask follow
up questions, suggest the best ways to implement the project,
and identify the possible challenges, then this will be a clear
indication the questioning was effective.
4. Your team needs to know they have a voice – during the
meeting, how will you let your team know you are listening to
them and that their opinion matters?
Before the meeting, I will send an email to the team with the
questions, and since we cannot meet physically, I will set up a
zoom meeting.
During the meeting, I will ask the questions one at a time and
listen to the responses of each team member. While the team
9. members are responding, I will be silent while nodding and
maintaining eye contact to show interest (Munter,1). At the end
of each response, I will paraphrase the content shared to make
sure I got the points. Munter suggests paraphrasing as one of
the following techniques to check the accuracy of the contents
shared (1). To get further clarification, I will ask follow up
questions while noting down the responses.
At the end of the meeting, I will send an email with a detailed
summary of the meeting. The email will incorporate their
responses and the initial steps to be undertaken to make the
project a success.
Regards
Victor
