Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 in Georgia by Millard and Linda Fuller with the aim of eliminating poverty housing. It has since built over 400,000 homes for over 2 million people across 32 countries. Habitat for Humanity Ireland was established independently in 2002 and works according to the principles of focusing on shelter, advocating for affordable housing, and promoting dignity and hope. It undertakes building projects both locally in Ireland and through sending volunteers abroad.
