6.  Sex
• Refers to a set of biological attributes in humans
and animals. It is primarily associated with
physical and psychological features including
chromosomes, gene expression, hormone levels
and function, and reproductive/sexual anatomy.
• Is the biological basis of
being a male or female.

7.  Gender
• Gender is a social concept on how men and
women should think, feel, and act. It refers to
femininity or masculinity of a person’s role and
behavior as defined by society.

• It is the quality of being
male or female It is the way
in which we experience and
express ourselves as sexual
beings.
• It is an integral part of what
we do and who we are; it is
the total expression of an
individual’s self-concept.

10. • Sexuality is an important component of one’s
personality because it helps a person to determine
or define who he/she is. It allows one to easily list
down his/her choices and plan what he/she wants
to be in the future.
• It is a big factor that influences a person in making
his/her decisions in life. Whether he/she will say
yes or no , whether to go or not to a certain place ,
most of the time, depends on his/her sexuality.

• Chromosomes are coiled
structures made of DNA
and proteins.
Chromosomes are the
form of the genetic
material of a cell during
cell division.

• Hormones are the body’s chemical messenger. It is
any member of class signaling molecules, produced
by glands in multicellular organisms, that are
transported by circulatory system to target distant

17.  Psychological Dimension
When you are in front of the mirror and look closely at
yourself, do you like what you see?

body images have a high self-
esteem. They are very sure of
themselves in everything they
do , in all their choices and show
an overall wellness.
• Boys and girls who think
negatively of themselves would
often feel inferior to others,
indecisive and always conscious
if they are doing the right thing
or not. They tend to be
antisocial.

19.  Sociocultural Dimension
• The society surrounding a person greatly
contributes to his/her sexuality. It includes the
family, school and people from their neighborhood.
