“This Hotel Is Amazing!” Sam Squeals With Excitement As
"This hotel is amazing!" Sam squeals with excitement as she opens the door to our room. "Okay, you have to agree with me that I made a pretty good
judgment on going with this hotel."
"Yes, I have to hand it to you, you did a good job." I say. "What other surprises do you have up your sleeve?"
"You will just have to wait and find out." Sam replies.
"Knowing you, it will probably be something that I won't want to do and then you will talk me into your bad plans like you always do." I state.
"That's what friends are for." Sam says taking my comment as a compliment.
"What does our evening look like tonight?" I ask.
"First things first, let's get out of these travel clothes." Sam says sticking her tongue out as she pulls on her oversized ... Show more content on

"It's fun to tease him knowing he is going to have to wait a week for this."
"You're so mean!" I say.
"Boys want what they can't have." Sam says. "It just makes him love me that much more when I get home."
"Oh Sam." I say. She has the answer for everything.
"You just about ready there girl?" Sam asks.
"Just about." I say " I just need to put on my other earring."
"Fabulous!" Sam squeals as I come out to grab my purse and shoes.
"Why hello there tiger." I say to her. Her hair is done up in big volumous curls.
"All right then, let's go!" Sam shouts.
Sam links her arm through mine and we head out.
"So where are you taking me?" I ask.
"Just follow me and you will see." Sam says.
We walk out the front of the hotel and you can see the sun starting to set. The sky is vibrant with colors of rosy pink, scarlet red, blood orange and
some deep, velvety purple. It seems like the perfect night for exploring. San Francisco is so beautiful. Like I said before, at night is when the city
comes alive. We walk about 3 blocks away from our hotel. We pass several old buildings with beautiful architecture. I eye up a few quaint
boutiques along the way making note of where they are so maybe Sam will let me go tomorrow or one of the days at least. We are not too far from
the water and as I look out I see the lights glimmering in the reflection on the still water. I bet Aden would love it here. Maybe next year we can plan a
trip here

Right Now I'M Gushing With Excitement, But Later I Might
Right now I 'm gushing with excitement, but later I might be gushing with blood. Which one is better? I don't know. I 'm only half dead right now
but I think that 's kind of like a phone battery situation where it seems like after 50% the battery drains a lot faster. Oh well. I don 't know if I have
more potential or kinetic mental energy. You know there are multiple shades of black. All you art people out there might be like, "That's not how this

But, since I've literally written that on this paper it, like what I'm saying right now, that makes it even more trippy and inception–y, and everything.
Back on track, I interject into my own thoughts a lot, and you can generally tell by the tone of my voice and tilt of my head what layer of thought
process I'm in. Of course, it totally doesn't matter, and I'll I'm doing is essentially warning you about how confusing all of this is going to be,
knowing full well that this is going to be a confusing explanation and I shouldn't have said anything at all, but that's not who I am to not explain
everything as much as I can, with as much space as I feel I can reasonably allow. I am not a concise person. What I have written here I will be saying
word for word, but with a gagillion other little interjections as well. Due to my acute level of self–awareness, I have vastly cut down what I was going
to say, knowing, that I will say so much more in actuality.
Anyway, I've been writing this for a really long time, all things considered. Now when I think of cool phrases that I want to say, in my super deep,
moody teenager way, I like to write them down. There's this thing called google keep that I use to take notes in my iPod, and what I have done is
copy–paste all those comments I've been saving into this document I'm writing in and then editing that. The smallest first–world problem that I have, is
that I do most of my

The Excitement of Gaming Turned into an Addiction
Change is the alteration which results in an important shift in the way we perceive and interact with the world. It is the process of being reformed
in appearance or turned into something or someone new. The concept of change is very significant as it gives us new experiences whether positive or
negative. Being the best student was something I never had to worry or wish for due to my devotions towards studies. It was the third time I got
awarded as one of the best students in high school. My dad bought me a brand new play station 3 as a gift of acknowledgment towards my good
performance in school. Video game became one of my favorite hobbies. I developed the interest in gaming and spent most of my time on it. It taught

They acclaimed me over my sisters which encouraged me to stick to this practice. My parents decided to give me some opportunities to
acknowledge my conduct, My room looked cleaned. Now was the time to invite friends over to my house. My parents never wanted me to invite
any friend to the house because of how miserable the house always looked like. During my week of change, I was giving the opportunity to invite
friends over if I wish. On the 4th day, I invited my two best friends: Williams and mike. For the past 2 week, we never heard from each other and
never got worried about contacting. Mike and William came over to my house and we all went to the recreational center to have fun. We did a lot of
exercise and played basketball. Since the day 4, we took it a practice to always visit the recreational center. This also promoted my health and built my
friendship.
As I carried on with the change, I never taught much about video games. I found more interest in hanging out with my family all the time. I used to
go to the cinema every Saturday with my family until I had my play station. My family will go to the cinema whilst I also spend time with my play
station. On Saturday, the 7th day, I felt very bored and had no option than to join my family to the cinema. That night was fun as I realized the ecstasy
in hanging out with family.
My week of change impacted me academically because I devoted more time towards studies without any

Technology And Technology Essay
As time moves forward technology continues to be innovated to have more of impact on human's everyday life. The frequent updates of new content,
mobility, and variety technology provides give individuals an outlet to explore and enjoy its many luxuries. Technology has connected the earth, by
being able to see new ideas from all over the world, which without individuals would only have access to ideas and people around the geographical
location. It has become more and more frequent to see people on their phones at almost any point of the day, especially when feeling bored and
Technology has become an outlet to alleviate this boredom. This trend was exposed in the two articles "The Limits of Friendship" By Maria
Konnikova, and "My Crowd Experiment: The Mob Project" By Mark Waisk. Where Konnikova discusses the effect technology has caused with
individuals social niches, diminishing the real world connections and heightening the virtual world connections. Wasik discusses the networking
capability that technology provides to bring people together which is caused from natural reactions in the human brain. These two articles gives lead
way for understanding the emotional effect technology is having on humans. Technology brings excitement and interest to individuals who are feeling
boredom through exposure to new ideas.
Technology has become a tool to alleviate an individual's boredom due to its easy accessibility and the variety the internet provides. Konnikova

Binary Oppositions
The difference of characters in Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory emphasizes the binary oppositions "excitement" and "calm" through the
verbs in which the characters–Charlie and Willy Wonka–explain. Nodelman and Reimer analyze binary oppositions in children's literature as it
"define[s] some of the most central thematic concerns of a surprising amount of children's literature" (Nodelman and Reimer 199). Specifically, in the
chapter 28 of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Dahl juxtaposes Willy Wonka from Charlie through the oppositions: excitement and calm. Dahl
portrays these qualities through the verbs in how Willy Wonka and Charlie react to the news that Charlie is the remaining child in his company. When

Emotion In The Film 'Gallipoli'
Group Essay – Describe at least 1 important emotion in the film 'Gallipoli'. Explain how visual and verbal features used help us to understand these
emotions.
In the 1981 film Gallipoli, directed by Peter Weir, there are various emotions felt throughout the film that help to express important themes. Excitement
and sadness are two key feelings that are focused on, nearly every scene. They help emphasise the wastefulness of young life and potential, but also the
patriotic attitude towards war at the time.
Gallipoli follows young athlete Archie Hamilton on his journey to fight alongside the Australian Light Horse Infantry at Turkey's borders. On his way,
he develops a friendship with his closest sprinting rival, Frank Dunne, who also joins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A sad tone is expressed throughout the entirety of the film, and helps develop the themes of the wastefulness of life and potential during war. A visual
technique that shows this emotion/theme is the close up of Archie's watch. We first see a close up of his watch in the opening scene where Uncle
Jack is timing his races. Later, just before Archie and the men go over the top, we see another close up of Archie's watch as he hangs it on the
bayonet. This is symbolic of Archie's time running out; that his time is about to end, and gives the scene a sad connotation. This close up also
links the beginning and the end of the film, and emphasises how great Archie could have been, reiterating the idea of the wastefulness of life and
potential. Lighting is a key film technique that can immensely impact emotions and themes. During the scene where the soldiers disembark onto
the shores of Gallipoli, the director uses a blue filter to give the scene a more eerie and sad feel. In using this, Peter Weir was able to use the scene
to create a big impact on the mood of the film. Immediately after they disembark, we see that the soldiers' moods have changed. They are now
starting to realise the reality of war, and have had a change in perspective. Sadness is now the dominant theme for most of the rest of the film. The
colour blue is associated with seriousness, so is an ideal filter to use for a scene like this to help portray sadness. A panning shot of all the soldiers'
corpses after they go over the top is also extremely effective. The shot consists of a slow pan across the battlefield looking at all of the corpses lying
on the ground. Immediately, the emotion of sadness sinks in, as this scene portrays the wastefulness of life the most effectively. The film ends
abruptly with an 8 second freeze frame of Archie as he is shot. Archie looks as if he is 'breasting the tape' at the end of a running race. This shot

Pregnancy Is An Event Of A Woman Life That Brings Pure Joy...
Pregnancy is an event in a woman life that brings pure joy and excitement. During a woman's pregnancy her body is physically changing, along with
a cascade of emotions. Every pregnancy in a woman's life is highly individualized. Pregnancy can range from completely normal to various
complication, both maternal and fetal complications. The patient I interviewed gave birth to a healthy baby girl, and she couldn't be more excited. She
had a wonderful birthing experience, this was her 3rd child and she agreed that all of her pregnancies were completely different. When I interviewed
my patient she made me realize how incredible pregnancy is. What symptoms first made you suspect you might be pregnant? "I did not suspect I
was pregnant at all, I felt like I had the flu, I was sick to my stomach and vomiting all the time my kids had a stomach virus previously so I figure I
had the stomach flu from my kids." As nurses we can educate our patients on the proper food intake to prevent morning sickness. Pregnant women
should eat small meal throughout the day to prevent becoming too full and they should drink fluids 30 minutes before or after a meal but not to
drink fluids during the meal. Did you have a pregnancy test? Where was it done? "I took a home pregnancy test because after several weeks I still
felt sick so I decided to take a home pregnancy test to rule out that I was pregnant. After my pregnancy test was positive I decided to make an
appointment with my OBGYN and the blood

Lesson of the Moth Poetry Analysis
Amber Brewer Dr. Fussell ENGL 1302 April 8, 2011 "The lesson of the moth" Analysis by Don Marquis The title of this poem by Don Marquis is
"The Lesson of the Moth" because it is a poem about the thoughts of a moth and his outlook on life. The overall poem would be considered
argumentative being the moth is trying to inform the man that he should live his life and let his hair down a little more instead of relishing the
everyday routines of life. This is shown in paragraph 3 when the moth says "But we get bored with the routine/and crave beauty/and
excitement."(18–20)Another example of the passage being argumentative is when the man says "and before I could argue him/out of his
philosophy."(43–44) Don Marquis expressed several tones... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speakers use of words symbolized things as well which reflected on the tone of the poems. The speaker expresses how the moth relates
"excitement" with beauty and also by saying fire is beauty too. The word excitement could mean to the moth having fun and living life. However,
compared to the man, the word excitement could mean trouble or risky being that the moth is trying to fry himself on the electric bulb. In conclusion,
Don Marquis message that he was attempting to display can be true however it can incur some serious consequences at times. Works Cited Marquis,

New Adventure And Excitement Of A City Girl
I can remember the day like its was just yesterday. The sun shinning was like a golden light of a summer evening, the skies were clear and blue as
the oceans, the air was cool and soothing, there was fresh tree and grass smells, animals making noise, just lots of peace and relaxation going on.
So much love from one another in a family after not seeing each other in many years was just beyond amazing. New adventure and excitement
ready to begin. A city girl in the country this should be exciting and interesting. Not in a millions years would I have imagined going back to the
country I was born in and having it feel like home when all I knew for a home was America. It felt like I never left. What a great feeling to feel
after worrying about not fitting in and not liking it since I was so use to something different. I was filled with great joy but still worried about if I
can last the whole vacation period. I was going to make the best of this vacation and enjoy everything, learn new things, and just explore a whole new
land that was filled with adventure. Whenever I did explore the country I did get strange looks from others and sometimes questions because
apparently I looked foreign. "Oh sweetie where are you from?" "Do.... you.... speak...Bosnian...can...you.... understand...me?" I honestly found it very
funny that people asked those question and that some looked at me as if I was foreign. At certain times I would act silly and act like I didn't
understand them and even spoke English

Excitement in the Airport Terminal
With clear emerald eyes illuminating with enthusiasm, the young child's face bursts with happiness, showering down like rain as the sweet taste of
excitement lingers in the air as he chases around his siblings whilst tugging on his parents' arms. They are drained from the child's constant yelling
and their heavy eyes slowly alter to a dark shade of cerulean and fill with extreme fatigueness. Their eyes gradually begin to shut, however much they
long to stay wide open. Across the parents, the two teenagers are like robots; their shoulders are slouched as they drag their feet, one step at a time, to
the nearest seat, as they stay glued to their phones, unaware of the world around them. The innocent child then moves his attention to the panes of glass
beside him, his eyes fill with enlightenment as he gazes at the plane outside, observing every inch of detail, in fascination. The wheels on the plane
begin to take off the concrete floor. Once the plane begins to flee, disappearing into the skies above; the boy feels a sense of freedom come over him.
Suddenly, the parents' sense of hearing heightens as they hear an announcement call from the corner of the airport, informing all passengers of their
flight to board. Grabbing the young child by the hand, the parents finally stand up ready to go. Their once excitement for their weekend break
disappears as they dread the chaos that their young will cause aboard.
A few miles ahead, there are a crowd of people, all clustered together at

Charismatic Leaders Can Create Excitement
Charisma is a special quality amongst leaders although not all of them possess it. "Charismatic leaders can create excitement" (Sellers, 1996). The
leaders that do have it find themselves quite successful. Followers feel personally attracted to a charismatic leader. He is able to convince his
followers that his ideas will be successful. He has an uncanny ability to convince people to follow along with his plans. Charismatic leaders can turn
complex ideas into simple messages. Charismatic leaders also relish in risk. Donald Trump is a big risk taker. Some of his risky ideas have made him

Mr. Trump saw something special and gave him a promotion. He is now highly regarded in the Trump organization. Another example is Trump's
employee John Totulo. He started as a booker and now has the dream job as president of Trump Model Management. "Thus transformational
leaders possess good visioning, rhetorical, and impression management skills to develop strong emotional bonds with followers", (Curhy, Ginnett,
Hughes, p.423). All these success stories would not be possible if not for Trump's ability to have vision and recognize his employee's potential.
Transactional power is defined when leaders and followers are in a type of exchange relationship to get goals met. In the case of the Trump
organization that can mean anything from a simple good job, a raise, or a promotion. The employees are exchanging hard work and dedication for
recognition and advancement. The effective leader will provide the ability of valued rewards for his or her followers. The effective leader will
determine the goal and then he or she will help them find the easiest and best way of getting there. This is called the path–goal theory.
The leader displays specific types of behaviors throughout the path–goal theory. One of them being directive leadership. This involves communicating
to the followers what to do, how to do it, and when it needs to be done. The directive leader must also be clear of what he expects from the followers
during this time. Donald Trump often exercises his

After the close–up; which appear in a second–minute shot, it goes back to the medium shot to have the same scenery before the close–up. The
close–up is interpreted when the director wants to have a better vision for the audience to see the ring that Sherlock Jr gives to the girl. Thus, the
audience attentive the importance of the object to the main characters. Further, he uses a close–up of the ring to show excitement and anxiety of the
scene. As I mentioned, the close–up of the scene is important because it's a demonstration of a better perspective of the ring. The excitement in a way
the girl wants to know what is inside the ring, and the feeling of wearing it. The anxiety of being nervous at the same time. In addition, the setting
happens at the girl's house which is middle class. In my perspective, the director chooses this setting to emphasize the events yet to come, and it is
where the plot begins to form. For example, its fashion, and the quality of the furniture made it seem to have the feeling of a middle–class house. Thus,
the setting of the house presents the major events of the film overall. Keaton uses the actor's facial expressions, framing to build the excitement and
anxiety of the scene. He uses acting to express their facial expressions to demonstrate emotions by showing excitement and disappointment while giving
a ring, and anxiety in both characters. The close–up of the ring illustrates

Similarities Between Sex And Sex
Your sex act and the tantric sex act are basically different. Your sex act is to relieve; it is just like sneezing out a good sneeze. The energy is thrown
out and you are unburdened. It is destructive, it is not creative. It is good – therapeutic. It helps you to be relaxed, but nothing more. The tantric sex act
is basically, diametrically opposite and different. It is not to relieve, it is not to throw energy out. It is to remain in the act without ejaculation, without
throwing energy out; to remain in the act merged – just at the beginning part of the act, not the end part.
This changes the quality; the complete quality is different then. Try to understand two things. There are two types of climaxes, two types of orgasm.
One type of orgasm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You go into excitement towards the peak, and then you fall. That is why, after every sex act, you feel a fall. And it is natural: you are falling from a
peak. You will never feel that after a tantric sex experience. Then you are not falling. You cannot fall any further because you have been in the valley.
Rather, you are rising.
When you come back after a tantric sex act, you have risen, not fallen. You feel filled with energy, more vital, more alive, radiant. And that ecstasy
will last for hours, even for days. It depends on how deeply you were in it. If you move into it, sooner or later you will realize that ejaculation is
wastage of energy. No need of it– unless you need children. And with a tantric sex experience, you will feel a deep relaxation the whole day.
One tantric sex experience, and even for days you will feel relaxed – at ease, at home, non–violent, nonangry, non–depressed. And this type of person is
never a danger to others. If he can, he will help others to be happy. If he cannot, at least he will not make anyone unhappy. Only tantra can create a new
man, and this man who can know timelessness, egolessness and deep non–duality with existence will

Captain Philips: Reality vs. Movie Excitement
Captured, kidnapped, and rescued, Paul Greengrass knows precisely how to seize his audience's attention. Not only did I watch this movie with my
eyes and mouth wide open, but I kept thinking to myself, "This actually happened in real life!" Little did I know Captain Philips was no hero. Not
only was it his fault the ship was captured from getting too close to the Somalia Coast and ignoring warning emails, but he never truly gave up
himself to the pirates. According to the article "Crew Members: 'Captain Phillips' is One Big Lie," the ship's crew tells Callahan Maureen that the
captain was intransigent, audacious and didn't follow protocol. Although, that is what Hollywood is great at: making heroes and false facts. The real
crew members didn't see Captain Philips as a hero because they believe he put them in the situation in the first place by ignoring the warnings he
received to stay away from the Somalia coast. It made me question if Captain Philips was really the hero Hollywood portrays him to be. Although
he was heroic through the whole event that took place, I believe he wasn't the only one and I understand where the real crew is coming from. The
crew mentions in the article "Captain Philips Is a Lie: Real Captain Is No Hero According to Crew," that the real hero was Chief Engineer Mike
Perry. He was the one who led the crew down stairs and captured the pirate for the exchange for the captain, yet he only had a small role in the movie.

Major Research Paper Proposal
Introduction
The purpose of the research paper is to identify the influence culture has on career decision making as well as determine the level of satisfaction and
excitement of students. The paper will look at people from various cultural backgrounds heading towards their choice of major/occupational path and
whether or not the results vary based on cultural and social, economic background. This question is significant because many students who plan to
attend post–secondary often are forced to study a specific field they have little or no interest in and allow outside influences like family and culture to

Joseph Sclafani writes, "The influence of teachers is actually reciprocal and to some extent dependent on what your child brings to the
classroom...These same teachers also form impressions based upon other information such as your child's previous year's grades and test scores, and
his or her family background and the family's level of involvement" (Sclafani 84). I interpret what the author says, as parents, have a huge influence
on the learning environment their children will have since everything starts at home. Parents are supposed to teach children certain values and beliefs
and the importance of education can vary from family to family depending on education level and personal income. As a result outside of these
factors, they can steer someone down a specific path which can be good but also be dangerous. Based on the study by Eun–Young Kim on
Korean–American children often are forced to follow in the footsteps of their parents that they often develop higher levels of stress and discontent. "The
college students make important career decisions, explicitly and implicitly that mirrored the model of success that their parents also have. When
children are not meeting parent expectations, they tend to feel guilty, discouraged and frustrated. Family and their communities pushed for these
Korean students to develop an approach that will smoothly allow them to attain and obtain a specific career'' (Kim, E.Y., 1993).

Psycho Analysis
Choose From a Film an Important Sequence in which Excitement is created as much by Technique as by Action/Dialogue
The Shower Scene from Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho is a crucial scene in the plot of the film. The scene itself shows the death of the main Protagonist,
Marion. In this essay I am going to explore the Shower Scene in detail and show how Alfred Hitchcock created the excitement present in the scene as
much by Technique as by Action and I will show how the scene is so important to Psycho as a whole.
Perhaps the most distinguishing feature of Psycho is the score to the Shower Scene. The composer accountable for it is Bernard Herrmann. The Action
of the scene is very fast–paced and the Music present in the scene is a direct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This Scene lasts for around 45 seconds, but contains over 75 Shots. This is very skilful editing. This clever editing is another way Alfred Hitchcock
conveys the Excitement in the Shower Scene as much by Technique as by Action or Dialogue.
A very peculiar aspect of this Scene is the Setting. Hitchcock cleverly used the seemingly ordinary bathroom as the place of the brutal murder of the
Audience's 'anchor' to the plot of Psycho. Before Psycho was released, no Film Audience had seen a Bathroom, in full, in a Film. Psycho changed all
that. Hitchcock used the ordinaries of the Bathroom to cause massive unease in his Audience. To the people of the 1960's, a Bathroom was a
Sanctuary. It was a place you could go to be your most vulnerable, a very private space. While in the Bathroom you are very vulnerable, but most
people do not think of that when inside. When showering, you are naked. You are as vulnerable as the day you were born, no clothing to hide or
protect you from the outside world. You are defenceless whilst showering and to a 1960's Audience, to show a Bathroom on screen would be the
height of disgust. For Alfred Hitchcock to use a Bathroom as the sight of a brutal murder was completely unexpected. Never before had a toilet been
shown in a film, never mind a woman being murdered in her Shower. This caused huge controversy in the Public, just as Hitchcock had intended.
People were left unsettled to see

Examples Of Foreshadowing In The Monkey's Paw
In the short story the monkey's paw by W.W. Jacobs a man wishes to die. Mr. White tries to alter fate and wishes for 200 pounds after finding out
that the first man wishes for death after his first 2 wishes. In the monkey's paw by W.W. Jacobs the author creates suspense by using dialogue,

would have gladly said yes but since he didn't it leads us to question the outcome of the wishes. In addition, he also says, "but I warn you of the

In James Joyce’s the Dubliners, How Do the Characters’...
In "Araby", "Eveline", and "The Dead", three short stories featured in James Joyce's The Dubliners, the characters struggle with whether to live their
lives with a structured routine or to seek opportunities, change, and adventure. These short stories center around everyday life for citizens of Dublin,
Ireland in the early 20th century, when a choice between continuing the inherited tradition of routine and structure versus seeking any other form of life
or adventure could be the most important decision in the peoples' lives. With the terrible potato famine still in living memory and with Ireland seeking
a new culture and identity, many of its citizens clung to their routine as means of survival. The quotidian routine of the character's... Show more content

The war is not between sentries and squadrons of bottles, but between the routine of life versus the hunger for opportunity. After dinner, the guests
begin to dance. The guests partake in "memorized dance steps" and fall into habit and routine, one after the other. These structured dance steps rob
the dancers of their individuality and creativity as uniform seizes the dance floor. The dancers are either forced to abandon their creativity and join
in on the synchronized march of the automatons or be excluded from the group. Later on in the story, Gabriel learns from his wife about a previous
lover. Gabriel enters a pensive and reflective state, in which he muses on the mass snow covering all of Ireland, which most likely covers the grave of
Michael, his wife's ex–lover, as well as the graves of all future Dubliners. The snow, the culmination of millions of individual and unique snowflakes
melting together to form one entity of uniformity, became a metaphor for the all–encompassing routine of the characters in Dubliners, covering them in
life and in death. Gabriel's reflections towards the end of the novel give the short story its name of "The Dead", which is what all of the routine and
structure does the characters in The Dubliners. Despite all of the negative occurrences that the routine of the evening and of life bring upon Gabriel, he
summons the courage to change his bleak outlook on life, vowing to have a more optimistic and open view on the world. In

Right After The Fun Relaxing 1960’S And Excitement Of The
Right after the fun relaxing 1960's and excitement of the american dream it all came crashing down in the 1970's. Political distrust and economic
unrest took its toll on the citizens of the United States and so they found refuge in the arts. With the Nixon watergate scandal, withdrawal from
vietnam, inflation, the oil crisis, and increasing 'slum' areas the american dream began to fall apart, many people awoke to the idea that the United
States was not as great as it supposedly was. Many activist groups sought change and people, especially the youth, took comfort in new art forms and
ways of expression including disco, postmodern art and punk and grunge styles.

The outcome of the vietnam war made future politicians wary to become involved in foreign wars and this coupled with the aftermath of the watergate
scandal created unrest and distrust towards key agencies involved in national security, such as the C.I.A. (Central Intelligence Agency) (Berkowitz,
2006, p.32).
During the United States fall in vietnam there was other looming issues. The 1973 Arab oil embargo creating a scarcity of oil creating too much
demand and strain on oil refineries. In the Arab–Israeli war in October of the same year the United States supported the Israelis, creating tension
between Saudi Arabia and the States. Berkowitz (2006) states that they used their oil as a strategic weapon first increasing prices dramatically by
70% and then eventually completely cutting them off (p.64). The seventies saw a reversal of the economic problems in the 1930's; as prices went up
the demand for labour was supposed to increase as well to balance it out but instead it stayed stagnant. In 1975 unemployment rose to 8.5 and
inflation was at a rate of 9.2 (Cowie, 2010, p.222). Creating a stagflation in the United States this drastically hurt lower income families, and lower to
higher middle class citizens relying on oil daily.

Personal Narrative: A Humorous Wedding
When I hear wedding bells, I picture a couple madly in love and ready to tie the knot. Long and laced, white and frilly, a woman, a princess adorned
in jewels and heirlooms all fitted to the to the perfect goddess she is, all while exuding nothing but beauty. By her side, her groom, her prince charming
all primped and primed just as much as her. His beauty complimented hers, and together they certainly stole the show. That makes me smile. I'm a
hopeless romantic, there's just something about white dresses and tuxedos that make me squirm with excitement. I'm like a five–year–old upon

IT'S AMAZING! Quite tiring for my mind, because, well, way too much excitement, but still amazing. Imagine, all the flowers and the decorations,
and the food. Oh. My. Gosh. The food. That on its own is enough to cause an excitement attack. But a couple weddings ago, I made a decision. I
needed to get my excitement levels under control. After all, it wasn't my wedding, I wasn't meant to be more excited than the bride and groom
themselves, and I don't think it was doing my health any good. I needed to find an outlet, one that could express all this pent up excitement but didn't
restrain my energy, I couldn't let my energy go to waste.
My friend's getting married. This November!(!!!) She's basically my sister, and family weddings take the excitement to a whole new level. I can feel it
inside me already, the excitement bubbling to the brim. I've not reached the exploding stage, yet, but it's close. I can just feel it. But I won't let it
happen this time, I can't let it explode. I decided I'm making a conscious effort to manage my excitement, so I

threatened him that if he continues to show me that kind of behavior, then I am going to have a parent–teacher conference. He was upset and he said
something very important. He said, "My mom left me when I was seven years old, and I live with my uncle's family." I could only say, "Sorry." I
told him as gentle as I could and said, "Please stay awake for the lesson." I put all my effort to encourage him and make his feeling better. We shook

adopted by a new family who puts him down the right path in life. Although the movie "The Blind Side" is similar to Michael Oher's life, there are
also many things that the movie changed about Michael's journey to add excitement to the movie. During the Blind Side there are many similarities

Another difference was that Michael was not let into the High School right away, but in the movie he does get let in. Michael Lewis also states in his
article, "When researching The Blind Side facts vs fiction, it was revealed that due to Michael Oher's poor and nearly non–existent academic record as
of 2002, the principal at Briarcrest insisted that he participate in a home school program for a few months first to get his grades up". This shows
that Michael had to do home schooling before being let into Briarcrest High School. All in all The Blind Side makes a lot of changes to add more
excitement and drama to the film. John Lee Hancock's choices in changing aspects of Michael Oher's life added excitement and drama to the
movie. For example, Hancock changes that Michael does not know how to play football. This adds drama to the movie because his adoptive family
now has to teach him how to play his position in football. Hancock also adds excitement when Michael gets into the High School right away, when
in reality he did not. This adds excitement by getting the audience excited to see what Michael will do at his new High school. These changes allow
John Lee Hancock to add excitement and drama to the movie. All in all The Blind Side is very similar to Michael Oher's life, but there are little things

Blackbeard
From working for the British on a Privateer then moving to Jamaica and taking up piracy, Blackbeard's life was full of excitement.
Blackbeard was known as Edward Teach was British. It was believed that Teach was born in the 1680's. He was operating in Jamaica as a privateer.
Privateers are a private, armed boat hired by the Government during the War of the Spanish Succession or Queen Anne's War. During the war in
Teach had become a very skillful sea robber. By the end of the war in 1716 Teach as most of the privateers moved to Jamaica to take uppiracy

made some changes to the ship. He added an estimated 14 canons on the ship which change the number from 26 to 40 canons. So now the once
French cargo ship is now a 110ft, 300 ton ship with 40 canons (Hamilton 8–9). Aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge Blackbeard never let his crew forget
who was incharge. Some of Blackbeard's crew was foolish enough to accept a crazy challenge. The challenge was to see who could stay below
deck in a room while sulfur was burning the longest. Once the the sulfur was lit crew members were running to get above on the deck and soon all
of the crew members were out in the open gasping for fresh air. The last one to come out was of course Blackbeard. Teach once shot one of his own
crewmen over a drunken game of poker. Once Blackbeard even said that "If he didn't kill one of his crew members once in awhile, they would forget
who he was" (Hamilton 16).
When Blackbeard attack he put fear into people's eyes. His long black beard which gave him the nickname Blackbeard and his mad man's look.

Thematic Essay Draft Steven Millhauser wrote the short story "The Invasion From Outer Space" which takes place in a small town, where
extraordinary things don't happen everyday. Imagine a regular town, full of ordinary people that are just like everyone else. Until one day when
something unknown had been detected from outer space, approaching the atmosphere at great speed. Even though the townspeople were terrified and
curious about this unknown object, they felt a certain calm, like this sort of thing happens everyday. From the very beginning they were prepared, had
the image in their head of everyone looking up at the strange thing floating in the sky. When it finally happened, it began as they thought it would. TV

All they seemed to do is multiply, and make a huge mess for the town to clean up. While they swept off their porches and driveways, they complained
about what their disappointment with this so called "invasion." " We had wanted, we had wanted–– oh, who knew what we'd been looking for? We had
wanted blood, crushed bones, howls of agony. We had wanted buildings crumbling onto streets, cars bursting into flame. We had wanted monstrous
versions of ourselves with enlarged heads on stalks like necks, merciless polished robots armed with death rays. We had wanted noble lords of the
universe with kind, soft eyes, who would usher in a glorious new era. We had wanted terror and ecstasy–– anything but this yellow dust. Had it even
been an invasion?" This scene describes in depth, what the people had really wanted. How they wanted basically a fight–to–the–death battle, a fight for
their humanity. This connects to the theme because it states that the people just wanted something interesting to happen, they were bored with their
regular lives and wanted a change. To the town, it didn't really matter what happened. As long as there was excitement involved, the townspeople were
willing to pay the price. They were willing to defend their homes against aliens, and maybe even lose their loved ones. All that just because they wanted
a change to happen in their town, something exciting to

The Atmosphere Of Excitement In Shirley Jackson's 'The...
Atmosphere– There is almost an atmosphere of excitement in the story. This is derived from several things. First, the lottery happens on an annual
basis and is vital to the village's crop, though some are beginning to question it. On top of that, every family is affected as they are all rushing to get to
their destination on time. This excitement then slowly begins to shift to tension as many pick up rocks on the way to the meeting grounds. This is
evident in the lines, "stuffed his pockets full of stones" as it foreshadows the reciprocations to come.
Climax– The climax of the story comes after the drawing of the slips of paper is finished and the townspeople begin to sigh with relief as they unfold
their papers. The climax truly begins once the Hutchinson family wins the general pool and ultimately after the second drawing, Tessie is deemed the
overall "winner".
Conflict– The central conflict in the story is Individual vs. Society, showing the individual struggle against collectively accepted norms. This conflict
revolves around Tessie (Individual) and Old Man Warner (Society). This is the case because Tessie refused to accept that her family, and then herself,
has been chosen for the lottery. This is evident in the lines, "It isn't fair". This was then followed up by Old Man Warner saying, "Come on, come on,
everyone." Warner in this case represents Society as his main purpose is not only condoned by the village, it is considered to be almost virtuous.
Foreshadowing– Many of the seemingly innocuous detail throughout the story foreshadows the devastating conclusion. A good example of this
would be in the second paragraph, as children put stones in their pockets and "made a great pile of stones in one corner of the square". This seemed
like innocent child's play until the stones' true purpose becomes evident at the end of the story. On top of that Tessie also arrived late to the lottery
intently setting her apart from the crowd. Where the foreshadowing is evident is in Mr. Summer's observation, "Through we were going to have to get
on without you". This gives the reader insight on the fate of our main character.
Irony– Irony (Dramatic) begins before we even begin to read the story,

Embracing Smart Classrooms
In the 1920's the radio created a wave of excitement and interest when it helped create online classes for students within listening range. A few years
later the overhead projector was created and revolutionized the way students learn and teachers teach. In 1951, videotapes hit the television screens in
schools. This allowed the students to learn in a different, more entertaining way (Petrina). All of these inventions are electronics that completely
changed education during its time. In today's classrooms, we do not use the radio as much. However, even after 60 years people are still using
overhead projectors and videos to teach. The overhead projector has been reinvented multiple times to keep up with the technology around it.
Videotapes have done the same and now videos are easily accessed on the internet. Technology is changing everyday. You see it with new phones or
new computer systems coming out. With the world changing around us, elementary schools are having a harder and harder time accepting this change
or readjusting to it's needs. Many elementary schools are struggling to find a way to adjust. These schools know and understand the importance of
converting to a technology based classroom and hope to one day change. Elementary schools should shift into smart classrooms to help future students
have a better learning environment and have a wider rage of learning. Before assuming that smart classrooms do not work, it is important to

Sexual Response Cycles
Men and women all go through sexual response cycles. The response cycle occurs in both sexes in four phases. They are excitement, plateau,
orgasm, and resolution. The first phase, excitement can come from different things such as kissing, sexual thoughts, erotic videos or pictures, all of
which can lead to arousal. During this phase, the body is preparing for intercourse. For both men and women, excitement causes similar changes to
their bodies such as nipples and earlobes swelling. Muscle tension, heart rate, blood pressure, and blood flow increases. With these changes, it can
lead to heavier breathing as well as a change in color to skin, commonly referred to as being "flushed". While both men and women experience
increased blood flow, the increase in blood flow causes different things between each sex. Men will experience an erection in the penis whereas
women will experience swelling in the clitoris and labia. Also, women's breasts can swell but men will not experience the same swelling. The next
phase, plateau, is before the orgasm. It causes our bodies to react in different ways, much of which is a continuation of the excitement phase, such as ...

the vaginal walls, and overall pleasure. Orgasms that women experience are typically longer than what male's experience and doesn't always include
female ejaculation. Both men and women experience muscle contractions during the orgasm phase but in different parts of their body. They also hit the

Ambiguity In Running In The Family
It is suggested through Micheal Ondaatje's Running In the Family that Ambiguity is used to convey and express emotion, through murky selective

Firstly, this is because of the absurdity of actions that can be performed in those worlds, whereas the player themselves know they would/could not

non–consequential form of freedom. This is to emphasize that there are no "moral risks" to the player's excitement (78). The Grand Theft Auto
series (and many like it) are recognized for causing excitement, because it is a form of freedom that bares no consequences to the player. In effect,
this is because the player's intention of entertaining morally deviant actions is their subjective way of a safely (if not, one of the safest ways) to

Examples Of Cognitive Theory Of Emotion
Emotion, in psychology is defined as a complex state of feeling that causes physical and psychological changes that influences one's thought and
behavior. It is associated with many psychological phenomena like temperament, personality, mood and motivation. According to David G. Meyers,
human emotion involves physiological arousal, expressive behaviors and conscious experience.
EMOTION:
The two emotional states that I have recently experienced are fear and excitement. Fear is the negative emotion and excitement is the positive emotion.
There are two theories that best suit my experience in the above emotional state. Opponent Theory Of Emotion and Cognitive Appraisal Theory Of
Emotion.
THE OPPONENT THEORY OF EMOTION:
The Opponent Theory of Emotion was developed by Richard Solomon and supported by John Corbit. The theory says that there are two components in
every reaction to an emotional situation. The first component is called the A reaction. It is a short–lived and intense. The B reaction is opposite from
the A component. The B reaction is slower to build. As an event is repeated the B component becomes larger while the A component becomes smaller.

Modern Day Romance : A Feeling Of Excitement And Mystery...
Romance is a feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love. It is something we strive for starting as young as a child watching Disney

But does modern day romance look like this anymore? Instead, fairytales today are built from expectations from a tweet on Twitter; fancy dates are

The Song I Feel Excitement
When listening to the song I feel excitement, it brings forth a sense of joy and of nostalgia from my youth. As a girl scout and a daughter of a
firefighter I attended many parades and festivals. These were generally in small American towns during the summer so patriotic songs were
prevalent. Upon listening to the words now I gather a sense of pride, of national strength and a almost uncontrollable urge to call to arms so to
speak for the ideals I support. That's a figurative call to arms but still a desire to act and not sit idly by doing little to farther the cause. Whatever
the cause may be, in these times there are many. . The song is inspiring to say the least. The words when reading them without the music solidify
the story Howe intended to express. Words like mighty swift sword bring to mind the archangel Michael and his battle against Satan in the book of
Revelations. The parallels the South had with Satan cannot be missed. The lyrics are the most intriguing aspect of the song. Julia Ward Howe
penned them quickly and completely in just one sitting. That is impressive to be so creative. Written in the early dawn hours they detail the moral
battle that was raging in the Unites States and it paints the abolitionist as a solider of God fighting to free the slaves of the south. It speaks of God's
wrath against the south and how he will crush the serpent with his heel. The lyrics are plain; Howe did not use loquacious or embellished words. She

adrenaline through me. My dad brings me back to reality with a gentle hug. "Remember Am, it's your choice: fear or excitement." My numbness thaws
slightly, the pit in my stomach loses some of its weight, and I step out onto the stage.
The word "sing" has many connotations: to produce musical tones by means of the voice, to utter words in musical tones and with musical inflections
and modulations,to make a shrill whining or whistling sound, to make a cry, to create in or through words a feeling or sense of song. The blaring

Furthermore, dealing with the problem where the agent can find amusement, or excitement from games that promotes unjustified violence. The
common genre of this style game is recognized as the open–sandbox. This is where the player is given the freedom to do whatever they desire, and
have no major regulating system to oppose their actions. These games offer the player to ignore the primary story of the game, and play mainly for the
goal to achieve their personal amusement. The player's amusement is often fulfilled through the means of unjustified violence. However, D&J would
defend that the emotional feeling of excitement is not wrong, rather it remains fitting (65). Whereas Taylor would emphasize that the player's

Firstly, this is because of the absurdity of actions that can be performed in those worlds, whereas the player themselves know they would/could not
reenact those events as freely. Secondly, the player entertaining the reality of a fictional/make belief world is their desire to participate in a
non–consequential form of freedom. This is to emphasize that there are no "moral risks" to the player's excitement (78). The Grand Theft Auto
series (and many like it) are recognized for causing excitement, because it is a form of freedom that bares no consequences to the player. In effect,
this is because the player's intention of entertaining morally deviant actions is their subjective way of a safely (if not, one of the safest ways) to
generate amusement in their lives. This is because video games don 't have repercussions on the player(s). Therefore, because game only involves the
player(s), and because no one is harmed during their violent amusements, this would mean the size of the moral deviance is miniscule. Consequently, it
is acceptable for unjustified violence in video games to be fitting, because of the size, and shape it is projected in. However, Taylor would then argue
that our feelings of amusement caused from make–belief/fiction remains immoral. Problematically, Taylor would assert, if we continue to feel an
emotional pleasure because of any violence (or misfortune), then the emotions caused by make–belief/fiction continues to be

  • 1. “This Hotel Is Amazing!” Sam Squeals With Excitement As "This hotel is amazing!" Sam squeals with excitement as she opens the door to our room. "Okay, you have to agree with me that I made a pretty good judgment on going with this hotel." "Yes, I have to hand it to you, you did a good job." I say. "What other surprises do you have up your sleeve?" "You will just have to wait and find out." Sam replies. "Knowing you, it will probably be something that I won't want to do and then you will talk me into your bad plans like you always do." I state. "That's what friends are for." "You just about ready there girl?" Sam asks. "Just about." I say " I just need to put on my other earring." "Fabulous!" Sam squeals as I come out to grab my purse and shoes. The sky is vibrant with colors of rosy pink, scarlet red, blood orange and some deep, velvety purple. It seems like the perfect night for exploring. San Francisco is so beautiful. Like I said before, at night is when the city comes alive. We walk about 3 blocks away from our hotel. We pass several old buildings with beautiful architecture. I eye up a few quaint boutiques along the way making note of where they are so maybe Sam will let me go tomorrow or one of the days at least. We are not too far from the water and as I look out I see the lights glimmering in the reflection on the still water. I bet Aden would love it here. Maybe next year we can plan a trip here

Of course, it totally doesn't matter, and I'll I'm doing is essentially warning you about how confusing all of this is going to be, knowing full well that this is going to be a confusing explanation and I shouldn't have said anything at all, but that's not who I am to not explain everything as much as I can, with as much space as I feel I can reasonably allow. I am not a concise person. What I have written here I will be saying word for word, but with a gagillion other little interjections as well. • 7. Emotion In The Film 'Gallipoli' Group Essay – Describe at least 1 important emotion in the film 'Gallipoli'. Explain how visual and verbal features used help us to understand these emotions. In the 1981 film Gallipoli, directed by Peter Weir, there are various emotions felt throughout the film that help to express important themes. Excitement and sadness are two key feelings that are focused on, nearly every scene. They help emphasise the wastefulness of young life and potential, but also the patriotic attitude towards war at the time. Gallipoli follows young athlete Archie Hamilton on his journey to fight alongside the Australian Light Horse Infantry at Turkey's borders. On his way, he develops a friendship with his closest sprinting rival, Frank Dunne, who also joins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A sad tone is expressed throughout the entirety of the film, and helps develop the themes of the wastefulness of life and potential during war. A visual technique that shows this emotion/theme is the close up of Archie's watch. We first see a close up of his watch in the opening scene where Uncle Jack is timing his races. Later, just before Archie and the men go over the top, we see another close up of Archie's watch as he hangs it on the bayonet. This is symbolic of Archie's time running out; that his time is about to end, and gives the scene a sad connotation. This close up also links the beginning and the end of the film, and emphasises how great Archie could have been, reiterating the idea of the wastefulness of life and potential. Lighting is a key film technique that can immensely impact emotions and themes. During the scene where the soldiers disembark onto the shores of Gallipoli, the director uses a blue filter to give the scene a more eerie and sad feel. In using this, Peter Weir was able to use the scene to create a big impact on the mood of the film. Immediately after they disembark, we see that the soldiers' moods have changed. They are now starting to realise the reality of war, and have had a change in perspective. Sadness is now the dominant theme for most of the rest of the film. The colour blue is associated with seriousness, so is an ideal filter to use for a scene like this to help portray sadness. A panning shot of all the soldiers' corpses after they go over the top is also extremely effective. The shot consists of a slow pan across the battlefield looking at all of the corpses lying on the ground. Immediately, the emotion of sadness sinks in, as this scene portrays the wastefulness of life the most effectively. The film ends abruptly with an 8 second freeze frame of Archie as he is shot. Archie looks as if he is 'breasting the tape' at the end of a running race. This shot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As nurses we can educate our patients on the proper food intake to prevent morning sickness. Pregnant women should eat small meal throughout the day to prevent becoming too full and they should drink fluids 30 minutes before or after a meal but not to drink fluids during the meal. Lesson of the Moth Poetry Analysis Amber Brewer Dr. Fussell ENGL 1302 April 8, 2011 "The lesson of the moth" Analysis by Don Marquis The title of this poem by Don Marquis is "The Lesson of the Moth" because it is a poem about the thoughts of a moth and his outlook on life. The overall poem would be considered argumentative being the moth is trying to inform the man that he should live his life and let his hair down a little more instead of relishing the everyday routines of life. This is shown in paragraph 3 when the moth says "But we get bored with the routine/and crave beauty/and excitement."(18–20)Another example of the passage being argumentative is when the man says "and before I could argue him/out of his philosophy."(43–44) Don Marquis expressed several tones... The sun shinning was like a golden light of a summer evening, the skies were clear and blue as the oceans, the air was cool and soothing, there was fresh tree and grass smells, animals making noise, just lots of peace and relaxation going on. So much love from one another in a family after not seeing each other in many years was just beyond amazing. New adventure and excitement ready to begin. A city girl in the country this should be exciting and interesting. Not in a millions years would I have imagined going back to the country I was born in and having it feel like home when all I knew for a home was America. It felt like I never left. What a great feeling to feel after worrying about not fitting in and not liking it since I was so use to something different. I was filled with great joy but still worried about if I can last the whole vacation period. I was going to make the best of this vacation and enjoy everything, learn new things, and just explore a whole new land that was filled with adventure. Whenever I did explore the country I did get strange looks from others and sometimes questions because apparently I looked foreign. "Oh sweetie where are you from?" "Do.... you.... speak...Bosnian...can...you.... understand...me?" I honestly found it very funny that people asked those question and that some looked at me as if I was foreign. At certain times I would act silly and act like I didn't understand them and even spoke English ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Excitement in the Airport Terminal With clear emerald eyes illuminating with enthusiasm, the young child's face bursts with happiness, showering down like rain as the sweet taste of excitement lingers in the air as he chases around his siblings whilst tugging on his parents' arms. They are drained from the child's constant yelling and their heavy eyes slowly alter to a dark shade of cerulean and fill with extreme fatigueness. Their eyes gradually begin to shut, however much they long to stay wide open. Across the parents, the two teenagers are like robots; their shoulders are slouched as they drag their feet, one step at a time, to the nearest seat, as they stay glued to their phones, unaware of the world around them. The innocent child then moves his attention to the panes of glass beside him, his eyes fill with enlightenment as he gazes at the plane outside, observing every inch of detail, in fascination. The wheels on the plane begin to take off the concrete floor. Once the plane begins to flee, disappearing into the skies above; the boy feels a sense of freedom come over him. Suddenly, the parents' sense of hearing heightens as they hear an announcement call from the corner of the airport, informing all passengers of their flight to board. Grabbing the young child by the hand, the parents finally stand up ready to go. Their once excitement for their weekend break disappears as they dread the chaos that their young will cause aboard. The leaders that do have it find themselves quite successful. Followers feel personally attracted to a charismatic leader. He is able to convince his followers that his ideas will be successful. He has an uncanny ability to convince people to follow along with his plans. Charismatic leaders can turn complex ideas into simple messages. Charismatic leaders also relish in risk. All these success stories would not be possible if not for Trump's ability to have vision and recognize his employee's potential. Transactional power is defined when leaders and followers are in a type of exchange relationship to get goals met. In the case of the Trump organization that can mean anything from a simple good job, a raise, or a promotion. The employees are exchanging hard work and dedication for recognition and advancement. The effective leader will provide the ability of valued rewards for his or her followers. The effective leader will determine the goal and then he or she will help them find the easiest and best way of getting there. This is called the path–goal theory. The leader displays specific types of behaviors throughout the path–goal theory. One of them being directive leadership. Thus, the audience attentive the importance of the object to the main characters. Further, he uses a close–up of the ring to show excitement and anxiety of the scene. As I mentioned, the close–up of the scene is important because it's a demonstration of a better perspective of the ring. The excitement in a way the girl wants to know what is inside the ring, and the feeling of wearing it. The anxiety of being nervous at the same time. In addition, the setting happens at the girl's house which is middle class. In my perspective, the director chooses this setting to emphasize the events yet to come, and it is where the plot begins to form. For example, its fashion, and the quality of the furniture made it seem to have the feeling of a middle–class house. Thus, the setting of the house presents the major events of the film overall. Keaton uses the actor's facial expressions, framing to build the excitement and anxiety of the scene. He uses acting to express their facial expressions to demonstrate emotions by showing excitement and disappointment while giving a ring, and anxiety in both characters. • 16. Similarities Between Sex And Sex Your sex act and the tantric sex act are basically different. Your sex act is to relieve; it is just like sneezing out a good sneeze. The energy is thrown out and you are unburdened. It is destructive, it is not creative. It is good – therapeutic. It helps you to be relaxed, but nothing more. The tantric sex act is basically, diametrically opposite and different. It is not to relieve, it is not to throw energy out. It is to remain in the act without ejaculation, without throwing energy out; to remain in the act merged – just at the beginning part of the act, not the end part. Not only did I watch this movie with my eyes and mouth wide open, but I kept thinking to myself, "This actually happened in real life!" Little did I know Captain Philips was no hero. Not only was it his fault the ship was captured from getting too close to the Somalia Coast and ignoring warning emails, but he never truly gave up himself to the pirates. According to the article "Crew Members: 'Captain Phillips' is One Big Lie," the ship's crew tells Callahan Maureen that the captain was intransigent, audacious and didn't follow protocol. Although, that is what Hollywood is great at: making heroes and false facts. The real crew members didn't see Captain Philips as a hero because they believe he put them in the situation in the first place by ignoring the warnings he received to stay away from the Somalia coast. It made me question if Captain Philips was really the hero Hollywood portrays him to be. Although he was heroic through the whole event that took place, I believe he wasn't the only one and I understand where the real crew is coming from. The crew mentions in the article "Captain Philips Is a Lie: Real Captain Is No Hero According to Crew," that the real hero was Chief Engineer Mike Perry. He was the one who led the crew down stairs and captured the pirate for the exchange for the captain, yet he only had a small role in the movie. Captain Philips isn't the only ... The paper will look at people from various cultural backgrounds heading towards their choice of major/occupational path and whether or not the results vary based on cultural and social, economic background. I interpret what the author says, as parents, have a huge influence on the learning environment their children will have since everything starts at home. Parents are supposed to teach children certain values and beliefs and the importance of education can vary from family to family depending on education level and personal income. As a result outside of these factors, they can steer someone down a specific path which can be good but also be dangerous. Based on the study by Eun–Young Kim on Korean–American children often are forced to follow in the footsteps of their parents that they often develop higher levels of stress and discontent. "The college students make important career decisions, explicitly and implicitly that mirrored the model of success that their parents also have. When children are not meeting parent expectations, they tend to feel guilty, discouraged and frustrated. Family and their communities pushed for these Korean students to develop an approach that will smoothly allow them to attain and obtain a specific career'' (Kim, E.Y., 1993).

This Scene lasts for around 45 seconds, but contains over 75 Shots. This is very skilful editing. This clever editing is another way Alfred Hitchcock conveys the Excitement in the Shower Scene as much by Technique as by Action or Dialogue. A very peculiar aspect of this Scene is the Setting. Hitchcock cleverly used the seemingly ordinary bathroom as the place of the brutal murder of the Audience's 'anchor' to the plot of Psycho. Before Psycho was released, no Film Audience had seen a Bathroom, in full, in a Film. Psycho changed all that. Hitchcock used the ordinaries of the Bathroom to cause massive unease in his Audience. To the people of the 1960's, a Bathroom was a Sanctuary. It was a place you could go to be your most vulnerable, a very private space. While in the Bathroom you are very vulnerable, but most people do not think of that when inside. When showering, you are naked. You are as vulnerable as the day you were born, no clothing to hide or protect you from the outside world. You are defenceless whilst showering and to a 1960's Audience, to show a Bathroom on screen would be the height of disgust. For Alfred Hitchcock to use a Bathroom as the sight of a brutal murder was completely unexpected. Never before had a toilet been shown in a film, never mind a woman being murdered in her Shower. This caused huge controversy in the Public, just as Hitchcock had intended. People were left unsettled to see ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The dancers are either forced to abandon their creativity and join in on the synchronized march of the automatons or be excluded from the group. We had wanted noble lords of the universe with kind, soft eyes, who would usher in a glorious new era. We had wanted terror and ecstasy–– anything but this yellow dust. Had it even been an invasion?" This scene describes in depth, what the people had really wanted. How they wanted basically a fight–to–the–death battle, a fight for their humanity. This connects to the theme because it states that the people just wanted something interesting to happen, they were bored with their regular lives and wanted a change. To the town, it didn't really matter what happened. As long as there was excitement involved, the townspeople were willing to pay the price. They were willing to defend their homes against aliens, and maybe even lose their loved ones. All that just because they wanted a change to happen in their town, something exciting to ... • 31. The Atmosphere Of Excitement In Shirley Jackson's 'The... Atmosphere– There is almost an atmosphere of excitement in the story. This is derived from several things. First, the lottery happens on an annual basis and is vital to the village's crop, though some are beginning to question it. On top of that, every family is affected as they are all rushing to get to their destination on time. This excitement then slowly begins to shift to tension as many pick up rocks on the way to the meeting grounds. This is evident in the lines, "stuffed his pockets full of stones" as it foreshadows the reciprocations to come. Climax– The climax of the story comes after the drawing of the slips of paper is finished and the townspeople begin to sigh with relief as they unfold their papers. The climax truly begins once the Hutchinson family wins the general pool and ultimately after the second drawing, Tessie is deemed the overall "winner". Conflict– The central conflict in the story is Individual vs. Society, showing the individual struggle against collectively accepted norms. This conflict revolves around Tessie (Individual) and Old Man Warner (Society). This is the case because Tessie refused to accept that her family, and then herself, has been chosen for the lottery. This is evident in the lines, "It isn't fair". This was then followed up by Old Man Warner saying, "Come on, come on, everyone." Warner in this case represents Society as his main purpose is not only condoned by the village, it is considered to be almost virtuous. Foreshadowing– Many of the seemingly innocuous detail throughout the story foreshadows the devastating conclusion. A good example of this would be in the second paragraph, as children put stones in their pockets and "made a great pile of stones in one corner of the square". This seemed like innocent child's play until the stones' true purpose becomes evident at the end of the story. On top of that Tessie also arrived late to the lottery intently setting her apart from the crowd. Where the foreshadowing is evident is in Mr. Summer's observation, "Through we were going to have to get on without you". This gives the reader insight on the fate of our main character. Irony– Irony (Dramatic) begins before we even begin to read the story, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Embracing Smart Classrooms : A Wave Of Excitement And... Embracing Smart Classrooms In the 1920's the radio created a wave of excitement and interest when it helped create online classes for students within listening range. A few years later the overhead projector was created and revolutionized the way students learn and teachers teach. In 1951, videotapes hit the television screens in schools. This allowed the students to learn in a different, more entertaining way (Petrina). All of these inventions are electronics that completely changed education during its time. In today's classrooms, we do not use the radio as much. However, even after 60 years people are still using overhead projectors and videos to teach. The overhead projector has been reinvented multiple times to keep up with the technology around it. Videotapes have done the same and now videos are easily accessed on the internet. Technology is changing everyday. You see it with new phones or new computer systems coming out. With the world changing around us, elementary schools are having a harder and harder time accepting this change or readjusting to it's needs. Many elementary schools are struggling to find a way to adjust. These schools know and understand the importance of converting to a technology based classroom and hope to one day change. Elementary schools should shift into smart classrooms to help future students have a better learning environment and have a wider rage of learning. Before assuming that smart classrooms do not work, it is important to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Sexual Response Cycles Men and women all go through sexual response cycles. The response cycle occurs in both sexes in four phases. They are excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution. The first phase, excitement can come from different things such as kissing, sexual thoughts, erotic videos or pictures, all of which can lead to arousal. During this phase, the body is preparing for intercourse. For both men and women, excitement causes similar changes to their bodies such as nipples and earlobes swelling. Muscle tension, heart rate, blood pressure, and blood flow increases. With these changes, it can lead to heavier breathing as well as a change in color to skin, commonly referred to as being "flushed". While both men and women experience increased blood flow, the increase in blood flow causes different things between each sex. Men will experience an erection in the penis whereas women will experience swelling in the clitoris and labia. Also, women's breasts can swell but men will not experience the same swelling. Ambiguity In Running In The Family It is suggested through Micheal Ondaatje's Running In the Family that Ambiguity is used to convey and express emotion, through murky selective information in Ondaatje's vignettes to incorporate a window of doubt. This therefore allows the one who expresses ambiguity to retract their first thought if it where proven to be incorrect. However, when ambiguity is used in excess where the one displaying ambiguity is leading the other to an improper conclusion, the ambiguity causes frustration instead of the original thought in where the one displaying ambiguity no longer can retract there statement while also damaging the perception of mystery and excitement. It is something we strive for starting as young as a child watching Disney fairytales, where the characters go out on fancy dates and ballroom dances. • 38. The Song I Feel Excitement When listening to the song I feel excitement, it brings forth a sense of joy and of nostalgia from my youth. As a girl scout and a daughter of a firefighter I attended many parades and festivals. These were generally in small American towns during the summer so patriotic songs were prevalent. Upon listening to the words now I gather a sense of pride, of national strength and a almost uncontrollable urge to call to arms so to speak for the ideals I support. That's a figurative call to arms but still a desire to act and not sit idly by doing little to farther the cause. Whatever the cause may be, in these times there are many. . The song is inspiring to say the least. The words when reading them without the music solidify the story Howe intended to express. Words like mighty swift sword bring to mind the archangel Michael and his battle against Satan in the book of Revelations. The parallels the South had with Satan cannot be missed. The lyrics are the most intriguing aspect of the song. Julia Ward Howe penned them quickly and completely in just one sitting. That is impressive to be so creative. Written in the early dawn hours they detail the moral battle that was raging in the Unites States and it paints the abolitionist as a solider of God fighting to free the slaves of the south. It speaks of God's wrath against the south and how he will crush the serpent with his heel. The lyrics are plain; Howe did not use loquacious or embellished words. She wanted the words to be ... Sadhguru, a bestselling author and modern day guru, had this to say about fear and why we need to learn to overcome it: "Fear is simply because you are not living with life, you are living in your mind. What fear does is it puts boundaries around you. It is because of fear that you build boundaries all the time. If you put boundaries and restrict the area of your life, you may be safe but the problem is you are safe even from life. You are protected from life itself." "And next up... AMBRY NIELSEN!!"
