3. Bulgaria 23th - 28th November 2015
During last November 2015
our School ISA13 gave the
chance to take part to the
Bulgarian Erasmus+ trip,
within the scientific
European project “Nature
Detectives”. We’ve been
accompanied by our English
teacher, Lucia Martinelli, and
by Paola Difresco, Italian
coordinator.
4. FIRST DAY
At 8:45 we met the
teachers and the students
from Spain, Poland,
Slovakia, Romania, Greece
and Bulgaria at school. In
the picture we are in front
of the local church.

Later we made posters and we presented every country’s nature.

6. In the afternoon, we built
pheromones traps for butterflies
(caterpillar is an invasive species
in Bulgaria and, growing up, it
generates a very harmful
butterfly for pine plants). In the
picture, we are wearing
traditional Bulgarian clothes.
FIRST DAY
Bulgaria 23th - 28th November 2015
7. We went to the Mount Shambala area
where we put the pheromone traps
on pine trees.
SECOND DAY
8. SECOND DAY
We couldn’t use the chairlift to reach the top of the
mountain, so we assisted to the construction of some "tents
for survival in nature“; afterwords some guys tried to "fly"
with the parachute (paragliding).
9. Some of us tried gliding or climbing, others walked through
the wood till a little pound.
SECOND DAY
We also visited a monastery nearby and the writer Ivan
Vazov's house.
Bulgaria 23th - 28th November 2015
10. THIRD DAY
We went to Veliko Tarnovo, the medieval capital of Bulgaria and we
visited the monumental church of Shipka.
Bulgaria 23th - 28th November 2015
11. Later we visited an
ethnographic complex near
Gabrovo and the Tsarevets
fortress in Veliko Tarnovo, the
most ancient medieval town of
Bulgaria. We went to visit a
Russian Orthodox Church: it
was very charming from the
outside, but even more
impressive inside!
THIRD DAY
Bulgaria 23th - 28th November 2015
12. We went to Plovdiv, the
European cultural Capital in 2019
and we visited the Natural
Museum and the Planetarium.
Later we walked through the
“Old Plovdiv” district.
FOURTH DAY
Bulgaria 23th - 28th November 2015
15. After visiting the town, we took a rest because we had to prepare to
come back home the day after.
16. It has been an unforgettable experience! We must thank the teachers who
accompanied us and even to all the people who contributed to this endeavor !!!!

17. This week was wonderful and very interesting. I learned
something about another culture and I met new friends.
I’d like to return to Bulgaria.

18. I’m very happy to have had this great opportunity
because it helped me to grow, to widen my horizons,
to manage the relationship with my teacher out of
the classroom (I appreciated so much her family
confidence!) and, finally, I understood that
establishing new relationships with a common
interest is an invaluable resource.
