analysing my front cover print screens

1. The first step to making my front cover is opening up Photoshop and changing the
document type to ‘international paper’. Once iv done this I then need to choose my picture
by pressing on new and inserting the picture I want for my front cover, the picture will then
open on a separate tab so I need to drag it onto the first tab.

2. After I chosen my medium close up off a Priestley student I added my masthead to the
top off the page saying ‘Priestley weekly’ as that’s the name off my magazine. I also
changed the size and colour off the font as I wanted to make it bold and stand out. Just
like any other magazine cover I chose a separate font for my masthead than my cover
lines because I wanted it to stand out even more and be the centre off attention.
I then started to add my individual cover lines and made sure to use different fonts and
colours to make my front cover look nicer and attract more buyers. I only added 5
cover lines as I didn’t want to over do them and make it look hectic.

3. The next step was to add a circle onto the side off my front cover and add text into
the circle with the price off the magazine. The reason for this is because most people
who are interested in the magazine will automatically want to know the price so I
wanted to ensure it was there and big enough for people to immediately spot. The
final step to making my magazine is adding a barcode at the bottom. This is the only
thing which isn’t original.
