Brain without limits competition

The strong will defeat one person, the knowledgeable- a thousand people.
The competition “Brain without limits” was created and presented by
Natasha Dzhurkova –SU Ekzarh Antim I, Kazanlak, Bulgaria
during the Teaching/Training/Learning event in Lisbon, Portugal.
It aim to provoke students and to show them, that they have reserve abilities for
resolve problems and different tasks, to show them that their mind has no limits to develop.
The competition is organized as a brainstorming activity and has no need for students
to be prepared in advance. Some of the tasks are addressed to their reasonability,
logical thinking, some tasks need to be resolved in short time,
and to resolve other tasks they need to use their knowledge accumulated during the years.
The competition is creative approach for teaching and learning all school subjects and demonstration
how different school subjects can be integrated.

wrote the script and selected the tasks for
the competition «Brain without limits»
4. The competition can be organized for one class or
can be organized for 2 or 3 classes.
The students are divided by teams of 5 or 6 students.
The contest consists of five rounds. Each team has 5 min for each task.
The teams write the solutions of the tasks on the sheets on the table.
When the team is ready, one of the members raises their hand.
The team gives the assistants the solution and they bring it to the jury for assessment.
Each team is allowed to only one hint during the whole contest.
It can be used when the team wants it.
The hints can be given by classmates, class teachers or someone from the audience.
Asking for a Hint is shown by raising a hand.
You can stay by the person who gives the hint 20 seconds.
The jury assess the solutions with points from 1 to 6.
If a team is ready before the time limit is over, they can receive extra points from the jury.
During the contest there will be a game with the audience.
The audience can see the condition of the tasks on the screen.
If a member of the audience solve the task before the teams, they raise their hand.
There will be awards for everyone who has a right solution.

(hourglass), a four-minute timer and a
five-minute timer can you boil the egg for
only two minutes?

When the three-minute timer runs out,
put the egg in the boiling water.
When the five-minute timer runs out,
two minutes have elapsed and it is time take

The students have to guess what things in

The rule is: you are allowed to move a coin
only forward with one square
and it can skip one coin only if there is
an empty square. A move backward is not allowed.

A piece of cardboard. Put the cardboard
over the mouth of the glass, making sure
that no air bubbles enter the glass as you
hold onto the cardboard.
Turn the glass upside down (over a sink or
outside until you get good).
Take away your hand holding the
