Bhakti Movement
The history of the movement goes back to the time of great reformer Shankracharya who gave
Hinduism a solid philosophical background. But the movement became popular in the middle ages.
Chaitanya led the movement in the east( modern Uttar Pradesh), Tuka Ram, Nam Dev and Tirlochan
in the Central India, Sadna, Pipa, Mirabai, Tulsi Das and above all Kabir were its leaders in the
north. Kabir's teachings had great influence in the Punjab, but actually the movement in the Punjab
was led by Guru Nanak and his nine successors. The message of love and devotion to god was
spread among the people of the Punjab for ten generations. This intense and organized propaganda
of the Bhakti cult by the Sikh Gurus led to the foundation of a community of Bhaktas known as the
Sikhs.

4. Essay On Cordoba
In pre–Islamic period, Cordoba was an important political centre because of its geostrategic
condition opened a new page in its history with being captured by Umayyad Arabic in 711. Abd al–
Rahman El–Takati who was the fifth governor of the Umayyad Dynasty in Damascus carried
government centre from Seville (İşbiliyye) to Cordoba in 716. Thus, Cordoba became one of four
centres during the management of early Andalusia Umayyad (Hillenbrand, 1994: 112–113). With the
moving of the central government, the first urban studies were started in Cordoba. In addition to city
public works, the population of the city increased and the southern districts of the city were
established as the new settlements (Akyüz, 2005: 238–239). Cordoba's spectacular rising ... Show

Real splendour of this era could be seen on the developments being achieved in the science, culture
and art fields rather than political space. Cordoba University which was founded by Abd al–Rahman

Western Europe; the rate of literacy was very high in Cordoba and Andalusia cities (Bal, 2008: 68).
Cordoba palace library that was founded at the time of Abd al–Rahman II, was one of the richest

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Sophie. She was the most beautiful girl in all of the
Enchanted Forest. Everyone loved and respected her. For one day she would be queen.

8. How Did Russia And Western Europe Develop Differently
How did Russia and Western Europe develop so differently? Russia and Western Europe developed
in similar times but ended up vastly different from one another. Both regions were influenced by
similar ideas and groups but somehow began to contrast greatly. The Byzantine Empire had great
influences on both civilizations which is a similarity. Exterior influences caused greater changes
which would shape how both regions developed so differently.
A main reason for the differences of Western Europe and Russia is their initial time periods. The
beginning of the uprising of Western Europe is in 476 AD once the Western Roman Empire finally
came to an end. More than 400 years after the spark of Western Europe, Russian civilization would
begin. By that time, Vikings had already ravaged Europe, Germans had invaded and ruled England,
and Charlemagne had stabilized Western Europe and brought peace to his kingdom and the
surrounding regions during his reign. Russia would only begin to be influenced by Christianity until
the late 10th century.
There was a minor religious gap that influenced both sides. Western Europe consisted of Moors,
Christians, and Jews. Russians didn't have such a broad religious gap, comparable to that of ... Show

10. The Importance Of The Church In Medieval Europe
As the only institution to survive the collapse of the Western Roman Empire, the Church was in a
highly opportune position to take the reins over Europe. It had the devotion of just about everyone
living in Europe and authority over the Western Roman Empire's successor states as a result. It
recognized and took advantage of this opportunity; from legitimizing itself through crowning and
baptizing royalty to defining the morays and morals of European society, by the end of the high
medieval age, Europe considered itself the whole of Christendom with the Church at its head. It's
clear that the Church had a fundamentally central role in early and high medieval European history.
The Church, as the chief of the official state religion of the once great Roman Empire, had massive
influence over the affairs of its successor states. In the Frankish kingdom, bishops played a key role
in the political system. Not only were they the governors of cities and participants in political
assemblies, but they also were among the king's closes counsellors in the royal court. Perhaps the
most crucial moment in establishing Papal dominance over Europe was the crowning of
Charlemagne as Emperor of the Roman Empire over three centuries after its collapse as a way to
legitimize his rule. This set a precedent for future monarchs to be coronated by the Pope, granting
the Church a great deal of control among European states in the early and high medieval period.
This was further compounded by the

14. Silk Road
The Silk Road was a trade network the connected the East to the West on the Eurasian continent.
This trade included both overland and maritime routes. The central Asian kingdoms and peoples
became the nexus point for much of this trade which lasted from the 3rd century B.C.E. to the 15th
century C.E. Many products and other cultural expressions moved along the Silk Road and diffused
among various kingdoms along it. In breaking down and separating the patterns of interaction that
occurred along the Silk Road from 200 B.C.E. to 1450 C.E., one can conclude that changes and
continuities in these interactions included products traded (changes in specific products and impact,
continuity in luxury goods), cultural expressions and diffusion ... Show more content on

Because the Mongols controlled so much territory from China to Russia and the Middle East (they
conquered Baghdad and overthrew the Abbasid caliphate), the Silk Road prospered like no other
time and products flowed freely from East to West . A continuity throughout the timeframe was the
fact that luxury goods usually drove the trade. Because products had to travel such great distances
and thus there were so many middle men, only the very wealthy could partake of the trade . That is
why gold and silver were preferred exchange mediums for the trade of silk and other fine eastern
products .
Another pattern of interaction was cultural expression and diffusion . In the early part of the
timeframe (200 B.C.E. –1450 CE), there was very little cultural influence occurring . This is
because intermediaries carried on the trade between the Han and Roman empires and the two
imperial powers really had no contact directly with each other . During the Tang dynasty in the
middle of the timeframe, this actually changes. Persian dance and the game of polo are introduced in
China as well as musical and clothing styles which become popular . Chinese paper influenced the
Islamic and European medieval periods with written works now becoming more the norm in saving
and transmitting cultural knowledge such as written bibles, histories, math and other intellectual
discoveries . At the end of the timeframe during the 13th through 15th centuries the Mongols were

1999, pp.79–80; 2 Samuel, c.a. 1100–1010 B.C.E., pp. 505–555). In a brilliant political move David
took over the Jebusite city of Jerusalem and made it the capitol of the new United Kingdom of Israel
"thenceforward to be honored as the City of David" (2 Samuel, 1997, pp. 505–555; Eban, 1999, p.
47). Moving the capitol to Jerusalem was an ingenious move on David's part since it placed him
geographically between the northern tribes of Israel and the former Judah. This also unified the
Hebrew nation politically since Jerusalem was a fresh start, not being formerly of Israel or Judah. In
order to unify the nation religiously David (with the help of King Hiram of Tyre) built a palace on
Mount Zion where he housed the Ark of the Covenant (Castel, 1985, p. 90; Eban, 1999, p. 49;

kingdom taking over and taxing all of Canaan (Rogerson, 1999, p. 82). King David ruled Israel for
the next 33 years (Castel, 1985, p. 89; Harkin, 2006, p. 41). Unfortunately the house of David, like

32. The Characteristics Of Characterities And Characteristic...
Characteristic is defined as "A distinguishing feature or quality" on dictionary.com. Many features
and qualities are shown by Cinder the main character in the book Cinder by Marissa Meyer , but
three characteristics stand out and lead to Cinder confronting Queen Levana. Cinder's selflessness,
bravery and insecurity help Cinder develop the courage to confront the hierarchy of her country.
Starting at the very beginning of the book, to the end of the book, Cinder shows the characteristic of
selflessness. Cinder is very caring and loving towards everyone, especially her sister, Peony. Near
the beginning of the story, when Peony tags along with Cinder to go find spare parts at the junkyard,
Cinder notices that on peony's collarbone, there is "A splotch of red, rimmed with bruise purple."
(Meyer 49) implying Peony has the plague. Cinder thinks that this was her fault because she's the
one who brought Peony to the junkyard, and immediately feels terrible. As Peony is being taken
away Cinder thinks "She should be the one dying. It should be her."(Meyer 56) Due to the fact that
Cinder is selfless, she feels that it should be her with the plague instead of her sister. During the
climax of the story, Queen Levana discovers that Cinder is a lunar shell that escaped from earth, and
Kai must make the decision to marry Queen Levana and let Cinder live, or to not marry the evil
queen and let Cinder die. "The guard clamped a hand over her mouth, pulling her hard against his
chest, but he could not keep her eyes from pleading."(Meyer 359)Thinks Cinder, after she had
pleaded Kai to let her die because "She was not worth starting a war over."(Meyer 360) Cinder's
selflessness causes her to want to die, rather than let Queen Levana take over earth.Cinder's
selflessness makes her confront Queen Levana, she wants to show everyone what Queen Levana
truly is, because they are being lied to.Cinder says "It really is an illusion. You're not beautiful.", to

38. Ancient Egypt Research Paper
Egypt, a transcontinental country that spans the north east corner of Africa and the southwest corner
of Asia, houses the historic flooding Nile and the ancient man made Great Pyramids. The Nile is the
only significant source of water in the dessert region and without it early civilizations would not
have been able to develop and thrive like the Egyptian society has done throughout time. The
Egyptian society origins can be traced back to the 10th millennium BC, with a culture of hunter and
gatherers evolving into a grain–grinding society. With a change in climate and overgrazing, the
Sahara desert began to form, thus early societies migrated to the banks of the Nile around 8000 BC.
This migration contributed to the development of economic, political, and religious structure among
the earliest of Egyptian societies. Ancient Egypt is often divided into three kingdoms of prosperity,
the old, middle, and new kingdoms. During the old kingdom (2613–2160 BCE), a social structure
begins to take shape in the newly unified society. At the top of the structure is the Pharaoh (or the
almighty ruler of Egypt and is worshiped as mortal version of god), moving down pyramid we then
have other government officials (nobles and priests), soldiers, scribes (experts in hieroglyphics),
merchants, craftsmen, and the farmers and slaves. During the end of the old kingdom, and all
throughout the middle (2040–1750 BCE) and new (1550–1070 BCE) kingdoms of ancient Egyptian

40. The Day Of Remembrance : A Short Story
She watched them all die. One year ago, on a day they would call The Day of Remembrance. They
deserved the celebration. They were the best people she could ever know. Now they were gone, and
she inherited the kingdom with a heavy burden. Eliana looked out the window of her tower as her
servant braided her long, raven hair. Her kingdom was a beautiful one, growing stronger and
plentiful after the fall of the wicked Queen. She wondered if her sister Elara would show up after all
that had happened. After all the damage she'd caused. "Are you alright, Princess?" The servant girl
asked, finishing the braid as Eliana turned back to the mirror and smiled at the girl. She was around
her age, and nearly matching her in beauty. "Yes, Adelaide. I'm fine, thank you." Eliana said,
watching as the girl stepped away to give her room, and she stood up from her chair. "The entire
kingdom has come to watch your coronation. Are you ready?" Adelaide asked, and Eliana took a
deep breath, careful not to appear too concerned. She thought of Adelaide as a close friend, and she
would've been able to tell if Eliana acted amiss. "Yes." Eliana answered, and Adelaide smiled.
Eliana returned the smile. As Eliana and Adelaide walked, Adelaide attempted to maintain
conversation with Eliana, so as to lighten the weight of all that rested on today. "It must be amazing
to become the Queen of the New Revolution." Adelaide speculated, and Eliana nodded. "Many gave
their lives to get me this far. I will always be thankful for that." Eliana replied, and she looked down
the hall to see a boy, possibly her age. Maybe he was older. Adelaide smiled at him, and he smiled
back. As she walked, she dismissed him as just another visitor coming to the coronation. "They
would've been happy to see all this kingdom has become." Eliana added in a whisper, "At least, I
hope they would've." As they walked through a few more hallways, they reached the throne room,
where the entire kingdom awaited her. Adelaide let go of her hand. "I will be with the rest of the
servants." As she walked in to gather with the other servants, she turned back to Eliana. "Go shine."

44. Religious Wars: The Crusades
The Crusades
The Crusades were some of the most well known religious wars in history. These wars were mission
driven and very cruel. Many people perished in this fight to regain their land. The Crusades changed
Europe for the better. It helped the economy and spread cultures. Many people were involved in the
Crusades. There were a few reasons why the Crusades occurred. There were many Crusades that
occurred and they lasted for many years.
The main reason the Crusades began is because Christians were defending Christendom
("Crusades"). The first Crusades began in the year 1095. These Crusades were called on by Pope
Urban II and his plea to gain back the Holy Land that was inhabited by Muslim forces ("Crusades).

For example, they made a big impact on the royal court. There was much enthusiasm throughout
these people (Fletcher). The royal women of the Latin kingdom of Jerusalem played a very crucial
role in the political life. These women had to endure successive marriages to keep their kingdoms
alive ("5 things you (probably) didn't know about the crusades."). Some women even participated in
the fighting in the Crusades. They were sometimes even in the front lines to fight ("The Crusades:
Did You Know?"). Groups of peasants would also be on the front line occasionally. They only had
sticks for weapons and would act on cannibalism by eating the dead Muslims. It was a sacred
cannibalism ("The Crusades: Did You Know?"). Some crusades were even lead by children. Many
thought that God would use them to free Jerusalem because they were humble because of their
poorness ("The Crusades: Did You Know?"). The council that launched the first Crusade renewed
the truce of God. The truce of God limits the bloodshed that happens. With this truce, knights could
not fight from Wednesday evening to Monday morning or even on Holy days. That gave knights
plenty of time to recoup and to prepare for the next battle to be fought ("The Crusades: Did You

it was not a complete bloodbath

The Evil Queen (Regina) is a very stuck up person in Once Upon A Time. She adopted Henry when
he was little but Henry hates her. She says that she loves Henry as her son but no one believes her.
When Henry's birth mother comes into the enchanted forest the Evil Queen gets very protective. She
threatens his mother and tells her to leave and never come back. When the Evil Queen starts to mess
with Emma then it all turns into a war. The Evil Queen does not quit for anything. She just wants
Emma( Henry's real Mother) to leave the enchanted forest since she never cared for him before he
came to look for her. My favorite version of the Evil Queen is when she plays in the story Snow

The early Norse people of modern Scandinavia were an amazing group of people that traded, raided,
and farmed, we known as Vikings. Norse people were well known travelers of most of the known
world during the Viking age, approximately 800–1150 CE. Their customs and technology made
impacts on civilizations a great distance from their homeland. It seemed that once contact outside
their native land had taken place, an explosion of interaction occurred. They reached out and
interacted with people from the east, south, and west. Some of these interactions were ferocious in
nature filled with slaughter and raiding. Other interactions were peaceful that led to settlements and
open trading. From humble beginnings of farmers to feared sea travelers ... Show more content on

The Frankish emperor Louis "the Pious" and his sons were at war. The Norse people continued to
attack some and became allies for others. Louis's son Lothar welcomed the Norse people and used
them in future battles as mercenaries. After Louis's death in 843 CE the Treaty of Verdun ended the
civil war and the kingdom was separated into 3. Charles "the Bald" became king of the West Franks.
During his time, near the Loire River, the Vikings founded a settlement. This was a major
disadvantage to the Franks and their trade routes. Norse men then began to travel up rivers to find
more monasteries and villages to attack within the Frankish kingdoms. Charles made several
attempts to fortify the towns to protect them, but not enough to overthrow his rule. None of these
strategies were very efficient. Charles made an extreme mistake in 845 CE in an attempt to deal with
these Vikings in a new and less painful way. He tried to buy peace from the invaders. Paying in large
amounts of gold and silver to the Viking's he simply asked not to attack him. This had the opposite
effect he intended and led to waves of Vikings attacking him, all of which sought to just be "paid
off". After the death of Charles "the Bald", his grandson Charles "the Simple" developed a much
better plan to deal with this threat (I love their nicknames). He gave the mouth the Loire River to a

54. 10th Century Viking Research Paper
The final stretch of the 10th century into the advent of the 11th had seen significant changes among
the Jutland region that had set up a new status quo for the new millennium. The previous centuries
had seen the region consisting of a collection of warlords leading their own personal clans. The
Viking age had seen these warlords expanding outwards, sailing out to ravage foreign communities
to colonize and bring back slaves and resources. By the end of millennium, however, several factors,
most notably the strengthened central powers in the Viking's favored pillaging location, Western
Europe, resulted in a decline in Viking raids and an impetus for Viking warlords to look locally to
expand their wealth. The spread of Christianity through the Danish areas was strengthened by this
incentive to control local resources, new expertise in manipulating resources that was brought along
with foreign missionaries was welcomed. It is then under Harald Bluetooth, son of the first
historically recognized King of Denmark, Gorm the Old, who ruled in western Jutland, that the
Danes were officially united and converted to Christianity in a kingdom that extended through most
of the Jutland peninsula, the Danish Isles, and up into the area of what is now Sweden. The Viking
Age officially ended around 1086 with the death of King Canut IV, who attempts to re–conquer
England, which had been under Danish control from 1014 to 1035, were subdued before they even

56. The Evil Queen
Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth. –
Marcus Aurelius
Ever since Quinn's death at the hands of some of the Evil Queen's men Ruby had dedicated all her
time to hunting the Evil Queen down. It had been a hard mission, the one that resulted in Quinn's
death. They had been forced to team up with Snow White and Charming. Ruby had never heard
stupider call signs, but apparently they had selected them after their first mission in which they had
run into the Evil Queen. It was an equally stupid moniker in Ruby's opinion, but the Evil Queen had
coined it first. Right before everyone else, criminals and agents alike, adopted the stupid fairy tale
names. It was likely a response to the Evil Queen's presence in the world of crime because she came
in hard and fast, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind that she was one of the new powers in the world.
Since that first mission Snow White and Charming had dedicated their careers to bringing the Evil
Queen down and until the mission that went bad, they hadn't had all too much luck. The Evil Queen
was always two steps ahead of them, countering their moves and escaping far too easily for the
Agency's liking. Eventually they got a lead when Snow White managed to make one of the Evil
Queen's generals defect. It his faulty information and apparent death wish which had gotten Quinn

In spite of all advantages mention earlier about ethically and socially responsible business practice,
it also has disadvantages, limitation and challenges. The most common and obvious limitation
would be the cost that comes together with every investment a business does in order to meet all
publicity's requirements, for instance setting up Ronald McDonald House Charities. Every business
has a goal which is at the top of their goal list and it is to be profitable. What is more, it is
challenging to maintain the publicity's and stakeholders' satisfaction when investing into the society,
employees and the environment.
Another limit to ethical behaviour at McDonald's might be training and discipline within the
company. For example, if an experienced employee was selected for a course or was offered a
promotion, another employee might find it unfair and discriminative. Similar situation could
possibly happen when it comes to discipline, for example a manager would treat employees making
the same mistake differently and favour one person more than another. If any of the employees made
an official complaint about any of those, it could lead to publicity's hesitation and bad relations
between employees within the company and its suppliers.
Organisations might be pushed by the government to accept agreed practices, nonetheless being
unethical, by ignoring individual choices or actions, might

68. How Did The Vikings Affect Society
Vikings, also known as Norseman or Northman, were members of the Scandinavian seafaring
warriors who raided and colonized wide areas of Europe from the 9th to the 11th century. And
whose disruptive influence profoundly affected European history. These Pagan Danish, Norwegian,
and Swedish warriors were probably forced to undertake their raids by a combination of factors
ranging from overpopulation at home to the relative helpless of victims abroad.
The Vikings were made up of land owning chiefs and clan heads, their retainers, freeman, and young
energetic members who sought adventure and treasures overseas. At home they were independent
farmers but at sea they were independent farmers but at sea they were raiders and pillagers. During
the Viking period the Scandinavian countries seem to have possessed a practically inexhaustible
surplus of man power, and leaders of ability, who could organize warriors into conquering bands and
armies, were seldom lacking. These bands would negotiate the seas in their long ships and mount
hit–and–run raids of cities and towns along the coasts of Europe. Their burning, plundering, and

The Queens Visit
The dungeon was a miserable place. Light was scarce and flickered from the torches bolted to the
cobblestone walls. Foul smelling water dripped inside from the moat circling the palace above.
Large rats chased each other across the floor searching for food. This was no place for a queen.
It was just past midnight and all was quiet except for the occasional movement of a chain. Through
the heavy silence, a single set of footsteps echoed throughout the halls as someone climbed down
the spiral steps into the dungeon.
A young woman emerged down the steps dressed head to toe in a long emerald cloak. She
cautiously made her way past the row of cells, sparking the interest of the prisoners inside. With
every step she took, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The women faceses the bars, waiting for them to be raised, but the guard hesitated.
"Are you sure you want to go in there, Your Highness?" the guard said. "There 's no telling what she
's capable of."
"I must see her," the women says. "At any cost."
The guard began turning a large circular lever and the bars of the cell rose. The women took a deep
breath and continued past them.
She journeyed through a longer darker hallway where a series of bars and barriers were raised and
then lowered after she walked past them. Finally, she reached the end of the hall, the last set of bars
were raised and she stepped into the cell.
The prisoner was a woman. She sat on a stool in the center of the cell and stared up at a small
window that was covered with dirt. The prisoner waited a few moments before acknowledging the
visitor behind her. It wasn 't the first visiter she has ever had, and she knew who it was without
looking. There was only one person it could be.
"Hello, Snow White," the prisoner said softly.
"Hello, Stepmother," Snow White replied with a nervous quiver. "I hope you well."
Although Snow White had rehearsed exactly what she wanted to say. She was finding it nearly

"I heard that you are the queen now," her stepmother said.
"It 's true," said Snow White. "I 've inherited the throne as my father intended."
"So, to what do I owe this honor? Did

78. Shrek-Personal Narrative
Fairy Tale The characters and I talk, I am Shrek. Shrek the Ogre, I am insanely strong and tough. We
are buzzing with ideas, and in the middle I shout with my big ogre voice,
"SHUT UP!"
I talk in my weird Scottish normal voice and say, "Alrighty then, we have more issues then each
other, we need to band up and fight the queen. So how are we going to do it?"
The beast suggests a group of them go out to scout for The Queens castle, then report back. I agree
and organize the group. The Beast, Gaston, Doc McStuffins, Prince Philip, and Rapunzel will go.
The rest will stay here with me.
Eugene and Rapunzel share a,
"Good bye see you soon,"
Gaston and The Beast shrug next to each other angry that they are in the same vicinity. They ...

She shoots her green spell at the Genie, but casually he waves his hand and a magic field appears
and he just talks to me and The Beast like nothing is happening. Rapunzel in the mean time is with
Eugene getting behind The Queen while she is distracted with us. The mist of the spell is also
concealing us, so she can't see if we are dying or not.
Eugene and Rapunzel sneak up behind The Queen, Eugene has rapunzel swing as hard as her timid
hands could at the back of The Queen's head with her frying pan. Then Eugene will sweep in and
take her to the floor if she already isn't there, where Genie will finish her. That's our plan
Everything stops for a second as The Queen stops her spell, and speaks,
"I am done with you fairy tale creatures, you may leave peacefully, no more fighting."
I have the most puzzled face in the world ever! What does she mean? does she just want us to leave?
I guess so.
"Well... Ok..."
