2. Why did I choose my film institutions?
• We chose Film4 as our main film company as
it has been responsible for the backing of a
large number of other British films.
3. Why did I choose my film institutions?
• Our secondary film institute, ‘Hit and Run
Productions’, has previously sponsored only a
small number of films, including the British
Sci-Fi thriller ‘Children of Men’.
4. Why would these companies distribute
our thriller?
• ‘Hit and Run Productions’ is an independent
film company which helps in distributing and
backing low budget films.
• ‘Film4’ would back our production as well as it
has previously distributed films produced by
independent film companies. For example,
Submarine, produced by the independently
run Warp Films.
5. JLDZ Media
• This is our made up
company.
• It produced the film and
then went on to contact
our chosen film
companies, ‘Film4’ and
‘Hit and Run’ for help
and funding.
• As we are being backed
by these companies,
they have a say in how
our film is distributed,
the more funding they
put into it, the more
rights they have in
handling the production.
6. What type of distribution will be used
for my product?
• Since our thriller is low budget, it should be seen
mainly in small cinemas, with showings in larger
cinemas only over a short period of time.
• A DVD release should be as soon as possible in order to
make profit for our own independent film company.
• Our thriller should be digitally distributed as well in
order for people to get a chance to see who haven’t
had the opportunity to go to the cinema.
• A percentage of money made will go to the 3
production companies that produced or gave funding
to the film.
7. Digital Distribution
• Major digital media technology such as iTunes
and Netflix will be contacted and asked to put
our production on their software for sale.
• This is a popular choice of consumption in our
day and age, so the public will be more aware
of and attracted to our film.
