Three strangers - James, John, and Jack - become tangled in a dangerous situation after being blackmailed into a robbery by a mutual friend. They reluctantly team up to complete further criminal tasks assigned by the friend, including an elaborate bank heist. After successfully pulling off the heist, the three plan to betray the friend at their next meeting. However, a shootout ensues where James and Jack are killed, revealing the friend to actually be John's brother as they drive off together with the stolen money.
1. Characterisation and Synopsis
Overall view of film-
3 people unknown to each other become tangled into each others lives as they are
forced into a dangerous and life changing series of events. The film consists of 3 acts,
act 1 is them meeting through a mutual friend and this friend then forces them into
their first task, a basic run of the mill garage/7/11 robbery. They are forced into it
by basic blackmail and the ‘friend’ has something that none of them want people to
know. The robbery goes poorly, lots of basic mistakes, but they escape unharmed.
Act 2 consists solely in one warehousing unit. The ‘friend’ and the 3 gentlemen all
arrive at the location and proceed to enter. The ‘friend’ take them all to the side on
by one and carefully plans out how they are going to get them to join. He uses
intimidation for one, appeals to the want for more action to another, and
mysteriously, John is already a yes. As John is vacant whilst talking to the ‘friend’
Jack and James have time to bond. They now both realise there is no escape from the
situation they have been forced into and form a pact that they will fight for each
other, complete the task and then betray the friend, John returns before the ‘friend’
and John also becomes part of this pact. The act ends with the ‘friend’ explaining the
‘final task’, which is an elaborate bank heist that will steal millions from a federal
reserve. Act 3 is the heist in place, they complete the heist, a few things go wrong
but in the end of the day they get out relatively unscathed. They then meet again at
the warehouse where the ‘friend’ has already arrived. The 3 of them arrive together;
they have carefully planned out how this is going to go down, all the money is in the
vehicle behind them. They argue and the two parties pull guns out on each other. 2
gunshots fire, James and Jack are dead, John and the ‘friend’ hug and are revealed to
be brothers. They leave in the car and the warehouse is set a light. The movie ends
with a shot of the sun setting, a complete reverse of the opening shot.
3 characters
James-
Clean, organised, slick, fails a few times like drops toothbrush etc.
John-
The guy who is a bit messed up, everything I planned out ahead, flowing gracefully
movement and everything feels planned, precise, and Psychotic
Jack-
Messy, running late etc. doesn’t take care whilst doing things, but unlike James
doesn’t make any mistakes. Characters should be opposites of each other
