  6. 7. Men are obese if more than 25% of their body is fat. Women are obese if more than 30% of their body is fat. ‘ a term used to describe people who are very overfat’
  7. 8. <ul><li>Excessive fat content in the body </li></ul><ul><li>An overweight normal person with high fat content would be considered overfat </li></ul><ul><li>An athlete that is overweight due to muscle bulk (weightlifter) with a low fat content would not </li></ul>
  8. 9. <ul><li>Having excess weight over the normal scale </li></ul><ul><li>Can be caused by over-eating and lack of exercise </li></ul><ul><li>Bone structure may be a factor </li></ul><ul><li>Not the case where muscle bulk is very high. </li></ul>
  9. 10. <ul><li>Weighing less than is normal, healthy or required </li></ul><ul><li>Some professionals are deliberately underweight to aid performance </li></ul><ul><li>Can impair performance in most physical activities leaving people tired and drained </li></ul>women should not have less than 10% body fat . men should not have less than 5% body fat.

  12. 15. <ul><li>On your own or with the person next to you: </li></ul><ul><li>Complete task 6 and see if you are the correct weight. If you do not know your height and weight then use the scales and tape measure at the front! </li></ul>
