Composing at the Keyboard
If you’ve always wanted to compose your own music and “do a little more” at the piano,
don’t miss this composing class! Learn the basics of writing music, chord structure and
harmonization, improvising, and orchestration with the digital piano. By the end of the
class, you will have been able to compose your own original song! With our experienced
instructor, you will learn more than you ever thought possible.

Blast-Off with Piano© for rising 1st
to 2nd
graders
It’s the perfect start!! Blast-Off! with Piano© gives beginning students a successful
introduction to the piano and the small group setting makes it extra fun! Learn keyboard
geography and rhythm basics, enjoy fun sheets and games, and share in the joy of music
together! Each student learns on their own digital piano in our digital piano lab. Special
performances on the last day of class.

My First SUZUKI Piano for rising K5 to 2nd
graders
Little fingers accomplish big things under the guidance of our certified Suzuki piano
teacher and with the involvement of the parent. In fact, Suzuki piano students are often
able to play at a better technical and musical level at an earlier age as they learn to
develop the ear and become more creative musicians. Enjoy engaging activities on and off
the bench in this introductory class that acclimates young beginners to the piano and the
Suzuki method. Fun games, familiar songs, and keyboard activities teach basic musical
concepts and skills that lay the perfect foundation for Suzuki lessons.

First Strings VIOLIN! for rising 2nd
to 5th
graders
Begin your strings “career” and get a head start on private lessons in this beginning class!
With this enjoyable introduction to the violin, students learn basic bow grip, hand
position, and fingerings. Game time and hands-on experience with a violin just your size
also ensures a fun and successful introduction to the violin.

SINGING for the Young Voice for ages 7 to 10
Any child who loves to sing is sure to love our exciting new class designed for beginning
singers. Learn to use the instrument that is your voice as you also learn about matching
pitches, breathing techniques, basic theory, posture, diction, and expression. It’s a
wonderful way to discover what singing is all about while also having a lot of fun singing
with friends! And of course, everyone will enjoy the “mini sing-off” at the last class too.

Beginning GUITAR for ages 10 to 13 and Teens/Adults
Have you always wanted to play the guitar? Don’t wait any longer – this class is just for
you! In this beginner course you will learn all the basics, including tuning, strumming
chords and playing melodies. No prior experience is necessary, but you will need to bring
your own guitar. (If you need a guitar, we strongly recommend a classical guitar from
Musical Innovations. A clip-on tuner is also highly recommended.)

Bring your ukulele for a time of music-making together! Not only is the ukulele fun to
play, but it also lays a great foundation for guitar lessons later on. Learn to read chord
charts, feel the beat, and strum with rhythm and style. And then… Show off all of your
hard work with a performance at the end of the camp!

Spend the week discovering new artistic media like drawing, painting, print making, and
sculpting. Learn how to see objects as basic shapes so that they can be easily drawn, and
then use your new-found knowledge and budding skill to express yourself through your
own creative artwork.

New! HIGH SCHOOL ART WEEK for ages 12 to 18
This is the perfect class for teens who want to gain a greater understanding of artistic
techniques and art history. We’ll cover the basics of drawing before moving on to various
media and expressive techniques. Learn about composition, color theory, abstract art,
and realism, and also study a few famous artists to learn what made them successful.
