● This photo is a Sports Photo.
Purpose
● The purpose of this photo is to show Jonny Wilkinson
leaving the pitch.
Image Content and Meaning
● Most of Jenkin’s photography are all “catching the
moment”. This image is of Jonny Wilkinson after
scoring a drop-goal for England at Australia in 2003.
The image has a narrow depth of field as Wilkinson is
the main focus as he’s also in the centre of the
picture. Everything in this image draws our attention
to Jonny; people’s hands out to him and the tunnel
he’s walking towards. It has connotations of religion
e.g. the way Jonny's Stood with his arms out seems
like he’s some sort of God or Jesus and the fans
worshipping him. There’s a lot of flood and artificial
lighting (coming from the pitch) which enhances the
idea of Jonny being the role of God.

● This photo is a Sports Photo.
Purpose
● The purpose of this photo is to show Rooney and
Ronaldo’s facial expression while scoring a goal.
Image Content and Meaning
● This image has a broad depth field however some
parts of the image are not in focus such as the net. It
has a high contrast lighting from the artificial lighting
of the pitch, however the lighting is close to black
across where the top of the crowd is. It seems that
the camera shot for this image was on a fast shutter
speed in order to capture this picture because if it
wasn’t on a fast shutter speed Jenkins wouldn’t of
been able to capture such an image; Rooney’s and
Ronaldo's faces are clearly seen through a square of
the net.

● This photo is a Sports Photo.
Purpose
● The purpose of this photo is to show Oscar Pistorius
training for the Paralympics.
Image Content and Meaning
● This is a staged image of a Paralympic runner Oscar
Pistorius at the Olympic Stadium in London. It has a
broad depth of field as everything is in focus, even the
background of the stadium.
The camera is at a low angle which conveys a sense of
power and importance; as if we’re looking up to him.
It has a high contrast lighting; mainly artificial but also
the brightness of the sky enhances the lighting on his
face coming from the top right. The purpose of this
image is for advertisement; clearly labelled sports
wear (B.T)

● This photo is a Sports Photo.
Purpose
● The purpose of this photo is to show the gymnast at
the 2012 London Olympics.
Image Content and Meaning
● This image is a wide shot which includes a slow
shutter speed which is able to capture the woman as
she flips over in the air. The shot uses a low angle as it
looks up at the woman in the air. The red and white
that the woman is wearing makes her stand out
against the dark colours in the background. The
bright colours means that my attention is
immediately drawn to the woman in the air, she is
also the only part of the image which is in focus which
again means that the audience is immediately
attracted to her.

Purpose
● The purpose of this photo is to show Jeffrey Schlupp
son looking bemused and nonplussed by the whole
thing as he holds on to the trophy.
Image Content and Meaning
● This photo is a close up of the trophy and Schlupp’s
son as he holds onto the trophy. The most dominant
colour in the photo is blue which is shown to be the
colour of the players uniforms, therefore making the
yellow and silver surrounding the trophy stand out.
