LAND FORUM
Half-day training scheduled for Wednesday, 22 June from 13:30 – 17:00, Hanoi, Vietnam
MRLG has requested Mr. Seth Kane (RECOFTC HQ TFC program officer) and Mr. Than Vu (RECOFTC
Vietnam country training coordinator) to conduct a half-day training on Conflict Transformation.
Staff time charges for this service provision are contained in the proposed budget below.
TRAINING OVERVIEW AND SESSION PLAN
This half-day training aims to introduce participants to the field of conflict transformation regarding land
and natural resource conflicts.
Using a participatory approach, the training will focus on four key elements:
1) Developing a definition of conflict and assessing positive and negative implications of conflict
over sustainable natural resource management
2) Introducing core theoretical frameworks
3) Applying the conflict analysis tool of five causes of conflict to participant cases
4) Reviewing potential topics for future trainings and independent study
At the end of this session, participants will be able to…
Examine positive and negative implications of natural resource management conflict
Determine basic elements and causes of conflict within natural resource management
Identify key competencies needed for conflict transformation
