Descriptionof Training: There are a lotof those whosufferfroma mental healthdisorder.Due totheir
disorder,theyoftensufferfromnegative thoughtsabouteitherthemselvesorthe worldaroundthem.
Thissix monthtrainingisdesignedtoprovide ourclinicianswiththe skillstheyneedinordertoprovide
theirparticipantswithcognitive behavioraltherapy.The purpose of cognitive behavioral therapyisto
geta persontochallenge the negativethoughtstheymayhave eitheraboutthemselvesoraboutthe
worldaroundthem.
Target Audience (and analysis):The targetedaudience forthistrainingcourse isanyone whomaybe
employedbyamental healthagencyandwhoprovides1:1directtherapywitha participant.
In orderto conduct an analysis,we firstconductedasurveyto those enrolledinthe course tosee their
level of familiaritywithmental health,therapy,andcognitivebehavioral therapyinefforttosee where
to start. Thiswas done bytakingsurveysindicatingtheirskillorknowledge levelwitha5 beingskilled
and 1 beingunfamiliar. We alsoconductedbrief one onone interviewstogetthe audience’s
understandingof cognitive behavioral therapy.
The characteristicsof the audience are asfollows:25adults21 or overwhohave completedeithera
master’sor bachelor’slevel of education.
Modalityof Delivery:The trainingwill be taughtonMondays for1 hour weeklyforaperiodof six
months.Inadditiontothe classroomsettings,there are avarietyof videostowatch,online participation
to partake in,as well asactuallyputtingthe skillstouse withclients,whichwillbe tapedbythe
professional(withsignedconsentfromparticipant)whichwillbe submittedforfeedback.

ObjectivesinABCD format: withpropertraining, cliniciansshouldbe able to successfullyprovide
cognitive behavioral therapywiththeirparticipants.Duringthe implementationof CBT,cliniciansshould
be able to followthe properprocedure of CBT,whichstartswitha moodcheck,assessmentof emotions,
listening,andprovidingengagementandaskill deemeduseful fortherapyaswell assuccessfullygain
feedbackfromtheirparticipant.Clinicianshouldalsobe able toassign(andfollow uponnextsession)
some sort of CBT basedhomeworkforthe participanttoengage in.
The clinicianshouldalsobe able toimplementCBTinanysort of setting,notjustthe typical couch/chair
setting.Thishappensthroughengagement,critical thinkingandcollaboration.
Explanation ofObjectives:the objectivesinthiscourse maybe learnedthroughproject-basedlearning
as theyare learningthemhandsonfroma director,howeverthe implementationof the skillslearned
require critical thinking,andcollaboration.Thisisbecause while youcanteachsomeone the skillsof
CBT, it ishard to practice themif the persontheyare workingwithisnota willingparticipant.Cognitive
behavioral therapytakesmultiple peopletobe successful.Ittakesthe clinicianwhoislearningitandthe
participantwhotheyare givingthe skillsto.

Resourcesand materials needed: five tablesthatcanseatfive individuals,handouts,screenand
projector,readingmaterials
How to implementthe plan:
Communicatingthe plan- reviewingthisplanwith the administrationof the perspective
clinician’sagencies
Buildinginterestin plan- Interestwill be builtbywordof mouth,the promise of certification,
and byprovidingtestimonialsof those whohave alreadyparticipatedinsome sortof cognitive
behavioral therapy.
Selectionofparticipants- Selectionof participantsisopentochoice of theiragencyandwho
theywantto signup. Requirementforcourse isthattheyhave to be a degreedclinicianworkinginthe
