The media production represents the social groups of age and gender. It shows a young boy in a school uniform set in a park to signify childhood innocence. An older teenage girl is shown, also conveying innocence as a typical victim for thrillers. There is a clear age difference between the boy and girl. Gender is also represented, with the female character being older than the male, confusing audiences as this is an atypical theme for thrillers which usually only show victims early on.

1. 2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?<br />In the media production the most important social group we concentrated was age and gender. Age was revealed as presenting innocence as the boy in uniform looked very young and the costume he wore made audience focus on him and could clearly tell he was in primary school and also the location of the clip were it was set in the park which was another way of signifying innocence and purity as it is a place for children.<br /> <br /> The girl being revealed on screen is a teenager which was another way of revealing innocence as she is revealed onscreen as being a young female character which is a typical convention for victims in thrillers. Throughout the clip the audience realise that there is a distinctive age difference in both characters but leaves them in confusion.<br /> <br />Gender is another social group that is revealed in the clip and also the way it is revealed is as the female character as being the oldest one and the male being the younger one. This is not a typical thriller theme but this is the reason why the audience stay confused throughout the 2 minutes of the clip. The female character being revealed on screen most of the time was a good convention as it not common for the villain to be revealed on screen in the opening 2 minutes of thrillers. It’s usually the victim who appears on screen in thrillers.<br />
