1. How effective is the combination of
your main product and ancillary texts?
2. Throughout my package, in
order to make them a
successful advertising tool I
decided to have certain
aspects carried over in each
product. This helped to
create a link between the
different products.
I felt it was really important
to do this to both help
promote the film and gain
peoples interest.
3. Through out my products I
decided to use the same base for
the title and then just added
slightly different effects based on
the product. I feel this helped to
create continuity and identity
throughout.
This helped to create a lasting
impact and make it both more
memorable and recognisable.
4. “Overall the film promotional package is very gripping, and is very intriguing
making the audience want to see more. The magazine cover only makes sense after
seeing the trailer. If the film had been known of before hand the magazine article would
be of great interest however as there is no mention of “defiance” being a new film so the
cover may be overlooked by some people.
The trailer itself is very effective, it has all the information needed and the techniques
used are extremely well used and balanced. There is a sense of anticipation while
watching and leaves the viewer wanting to know more and seeing the ending. This I feel
is very effective.
The “defiance” poster lends itself again to the anticipation of the film and without
seeing the trailer makes the viewer want to know the story behind and the reasons why
the girl has her mouth covered, this forms a sense of curiosity from the poster and is
very well used.
There is a big use of continuity across the board and I feel is therefore extremely
effective in the promotion of the film. ”
To answer this question I decided to ask someone who wasn’t in my focus
group and didn’t know anything about my projects so couldn’t be bias, this is
the response I got.
This response meant that I had succeeded in making a promotional package
that was successful for my film.
