10. Bhangra also refers to a folk dance. Bhangra dance began as a folk
dance conducted by Punjabi farmers in 11th century to celebrate the
coming of the harvest season. The specific moves of bhangra reflect
the manner in which villagers farmed their land. This hybrid dance
became bhangra.
The drum beats and the synchronized dancers will create a fusion of
best of the dance. 8 performer traditionally dressed will elegant keep
the tempo of the evening
Entertainers and performers have been an integral part of the culture of
Rajasthan since ages. The royal families had always been known to
invite these performers at their courts and they traveled through the
state, skillfully reciting and staging tales of both passion and valor. It
was customary for the families to invite the Bhats, Dholis, Nats and
Bhands to perform, sing and dance at all the family celebrations
including births, marriages or any other festive occasions
Koli is the dance form of Koli fisher folk of Maharashtra. The community
has its own distinct identity and lively dances. The dance incorporates
elements that this community is most familiar with - sea and fishing.
The dance is performed by both men and women divided into two
groups, where fishermen stand in two rows holding oars in their hands.
The dancers move in unison, portraying the movement of the rowing of
a boat.
