2016
We are stewards of the Wolfe legacy, continually
improving our guestsā€™ experience. This year, guests
will enjoy renovated baths in the Main Lodge and
Wolfe Cottage (Think rainfall showers!).Thanks to our
culinary teamā€™s work with local farmers and growers,
Snowbird diners will savor
the very best of fresh,
local produce.We have also
updated our wine and spirits
list, and expanded our craft
beers to include more local
North Carolina offerings. Our
diamond anniversary events
feature naturalists,
photographers, artists and
musicians to add flavor to
your mountain getaway.
Join us to celebrate 75 years
of Snowbird Magic; this will
certainly be an amazing year.
We are in celebration of the
Great Adventure and look
forward to sharing with
friends: some old, some new... like you!
Late spring, 1941:Arthur and Edwin Wolfe
surveyed the view from the Lodge as they prepared
to open Snowbirdā€™s doors to guests for the first
time. The anxiety level was high. They had invested
everything they had, believing that the people who
would soon arrive needed
a place like this, a retreat
to rediscover nature. I can
imagine very well how the
Wolfes must have felt.This
year, Snowbird celebrates
75 years!
Today, if the brothers could
drive up the mountain, they
would round the familiar
bend and recognize every-
thing they created.While
change has come, their vision
remains strong. Snowbird
continues to be that special
place: completely modern, yet
lost in time. Itā€™s an unmatched
mountain experience where
guests are completely looked
after, all senses filled and satisfied.Where welcomes
are warm, genuine, heartfelt hospitality flows, and
connections are made. This remains what Snowbird
is all about, and in these times the original vision is
more important than ever.

Snowbird newsletter2016 proof

  • 1. 2016 We are stewards of the Wolfe legacy, continually improving our guestsā€™ experience. This year, guests will enjoy renovated baths in the Main Lodge and Wolfe Cottage (Think rainfall showers!).Thanks to our culinary teamā€™s work with local farmers and growers, Snowbird diners will savor the very best of fresh, local produce. We have also updated our wine and spirits list, and expanded our craft beers to include more local North Carolina offerings. Our diamond anniversary events feature naturalists, photographers, artists and musicians to add flavor to your mountain getaway. Join us to celebrate 75 years of Snowbird Magic; this will certainly be an amazing year. We are in celebration of the Great Adventure and look forward to sharing with friends: some old, some new... like you! Late spring, 1941:Arthur and Edwin Wolfe surveyed the view from the Lodge as they prepared to open Snowbirdā€™s doors to guests for the first time. The anxiety level was high. They had invested everything they had, believing that the people who would soon arrive needed a place like this, a retreat to rediscover nature. I can imagine very well how the Wolfes must have felt. This year, Snowbird celebrates 75 years! Today, if the brothers could drive up the mountain, they would round the familiar bend and recognize every- thing they created. While change has come, their vision remains strong. Snowbird continues to be that special place: completely modern, yet lost in time. Itā€™s an unmatched mountain experience where guests are completely looked after, all senses filled and satisfied.Where welcomes are warm, genuine, heartfelt hospitality flows, and connections are made. This remains what Snowbird is all about, and in these times the original vision is more important than ever.
