Unit 17
Costumes and Props report
• I will have two key characters in my film. They will both be
mainly wearing jumpers and jeans because the weather will
be cold when my film Is set so their clothes need to keep
them warm. They will be wearing clothes that make them
stand out from each other as they will need a way to be
identified as individuals, as I don’t want their characters to
blur together in the watchers eyes. This way they will be
easily distinguishable from one another.
• The reason I want my characters to be wearing such simple
clothes is that I want them to represent typical teenagers
and therefore wearing what typical teens would wear if
they simply decided to go out on their own. It will also
reflect real life more if they are in weather appropriate
clothes.
Costumes and Props Report
• The clothing I have chosen for my actors to wear is clothing that hey
are likely to own and have at home. This is useful because they will
be comfortable in their own clothes and they will definitely fit so I
wont need to worry about clothes not fitting. But if they do not
own the clothes I need, they will be able to borrow my clothes
because we are a similar size. If this doesn’t work, I will then resort
to buying clothes online.
• There are connotations with each of my characters. One of my
characters will be dressed in dark colours like black and navy, this
will show that she is the more mischievous and ‘bad’ one out of the
two and the other character will be wearing lighter clothes so show
that she is more innocent and fragile.
• I wont be using many props in my film mainly because they wont be
needed. Both my characters will be using phones. I will also be
using a stack of CDs to show what the girls take from the car. This
will mainly be it as I don’t need anything else in my film.
Costumes and Props report

Casting details
• The reason I have chosen to have Collette as one of my main
characters is because she matches the look I had envisioned for my
rebellious character and I feel that with using her, she will be able
to act the exact way I wanted her too. She is also a good pick
because she did GCSE drama so she already has acting experience
so will be able to act naturally in front of a camera, this means that I
wont have to spend as much time filming as she will be more likely
to remember her lines.
• The reason I have chosen Libby as my second main character is
because her peronality already fits the personlaity of my character
as she is already quite passive. This means that acting will be easier
for her as she hasn’t had any previous acting experience.
• My two actors are also friends so the acting will be more natural
because they are already familiar with each other.
