Technology Integration Maria Adriana Guerra Instructional Leadership EDLD 5352 Week 4 Assignment Part 1-4
Instructional Technology / Online Curriculum Program Overview The Department of Instruction for Secondary Education in Instructional Technology is designed for the purpose of : Increasing levels of technology skills and integration in every classroom for teachers and students Continuing training and supporting the integration and skills for 6th – 12th grade students, teachers and administrators Promoting learner-centered instruction through technology infused curriculum Conducting research and implementation of the most current uses of hardware, software and the internet as they relate to classroom instruction. Contributing to the improvement of student performance in reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies through the use of technology. Analyzing student strengths/weaknesses and use data to drive learner-centered instruction. Supporting the use the Internet as a tool for designing, communicating and posting information for students, teachers, and administrators. Promoting the District’s implementation of state-mandated technology curriculum requirements (TEKS for Technology Applications K6th -12th) Continuously collaborating with secondary instructional staff to align and accomplish curricula objectives.

Technology Instruction and the Role of the Principal The role of the principal is to implement and monitor the technology used on campus.  The administrator should follow updated technology applications as well as ensuring the proper use of technology on campus.  The principal should serve as a model inthe use of  technology  and be capable of managing the campus’ technology resources as well as the campus budget.  The principal should provide the adequate professional development that aids teachers in the efficient use of technology.
