3. always look out for Number One
• If Jesus had done this, then this world
would be in an extremely terrible crisis.

• Jesus was mindful not just for Himself
but died to self so others could be saved
from many “lacks”.

• God teaches us to do the opposite of this
myth. It’s not just keep for yourself. It’s
the more you give the more you’ll be

4. always look out for Evil Deceptions
• Beware of deceptive wages (riches)!
• “The wicked earns deceptive wages,
but one who sows righteousness gets
a sure reward.” Prov. 11:18 ESV
• What are you working for
righteousness or deceptive wages? -
-What’s your true goal? Mt. 6:19-21,24
• “We must use money as a tool, not let
money use us as a fool” Prov. 23:4-5

5. always look out for your Heavenly Home
• Realize, this world is not our home!
• We must know that we are not to live
for this life but for our home in heaven!

• We must sow righteousness and
become rich toward God!
– Use money so as to please God being a
good steward of it. Luke 16:9-12; 12:33
– Selfish ambition breeds only evil things!

6. always look out for Number One
• Always look out for God first!
• When we first give our self to God He
is pleased! 2 Cor. 8:5; Eph. 6:6
• We must glorify God in our body and
spirit! Romans 12:1; 1 Cor. 6:19-20
• Not self-first but God first! Mark 12:30
– In doing so look out for God’s kingdom
and righteousness. Matthew 6:33
– We’re also to put others interests above
ours… Philippians 2:2-4

7. always look out for truly Great Gain
• Contentment is the key to proper
ambition. Proverbs 30:8-9
– Daily bread not yearly bread in one day.

• We must mortify the love of money and
excel in the love of God! 1 Tim. 6:6-10
– The love of money will drive one to
dishonest practices and condemn us.
