To Accept The Blame For Our Mistakes • It is human nature to reject any blame… Gen. 3:12-13 • Let us be strong enough to accept the blame for our mistakes. 2 Sam. 12:13; 1 Tim.1:10-13 • Some people cannot say, “I’m sorry, I made a mistake, please forgive me.” Obadiah 1:3 • Confession is good for the soul. 2 Cor. 7:10-11; Prov. 28:13
  2. 2. To Accept Advice • Everyone wants to give advice, but very few want to accept it. 1 Kings 12:6-8 • All of us at one time or another, need good advice. Prov. 12:15; 9:8-9; Eccl. 7:5 • Often people seek advice just for approval on what they have already decided. Luke 10:29 • Those who give advice need to remember that advice is only advice.
  3. 3. To Start Over • Job is an example of one who lost everything. Job 42:12 • Many setbacks will come during one’s lifespan. Psalm 37:25 • All those who make a new beginning for the Lord need to be commended. Phil. 3:7-8

  6. 6. To Profit From Our Mistakes • If we don’t profit from our mistakes we are destined to repeat them. James 4:17 • The important key to be pleasing to God is to recognize our mistakes and learn from them. John 8:11
  7. 7. To Forgive And Forget • Forgiveness is not an optional matter. Luke 17:3-4 • God’s forgiveness is based on our forgiveness of others. Matthew 6:14-15 – Jesus says, we must do it “from the heart”. Matthew 18:35
  8. 8. To Be Kind And Considerate Of Others • Kindness is commanded. Eph. 4:32 • Its easy to be kind to those who are kind to us. Phil. 2:5-8; Luke 6:35 • Everyone likes to be treated kindly. Remember the “Golden rule”! Mt. 7:12 – Let us be kind to every one. Prov. 31:26
  9. 9. To Persevere In Good Works • We must persevere in our efforts to do good works. Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” • A good person out of the good treasure in his heart will bring forth good things. Mt. 12:35 • Let us always be ready to do good works. Titus 3:1
