2. To Accept The Blame For Our Mistakes

mistake, please forgive me.” Obadiah 1:3

3. To Accept Advice
• Everyone wants to give advice, but very few
want to accept it. 1 Kings 12:6-8
• All of us at one time or another, need good
advice. Prov. 12:15; 9:8-9; Eccl. 7:5
• Often people seek advice just for approval on
what they have already decided. Luke 10:29
• Those who give advice need to remember
that advice is only advice.
4. To Start Over
• Job is an example of one who lost
everything. Job 42:12
• Many setbacks will come during one’s
lifespan. Psalm 37:25
• All those who make a new beginning
for the Lord need to be commended.

5. To Be Unselfish
• Man, basically is geared to look out for
number one – himself.
• We often ask, “Why don’t more people
obey the Lord?”
• All those seeking to please themselves
will receive eternal punishment.

6. To Follow Sound Reasoning
Rather Than Emotions
• We should not let emotions direct us.
Proverbs 16:25; Acts 26:9
• Those who trust feelings rather than the
Bible need to reconsider. 1 Cor. 3:18
• We must try to use good wisdom in all things.
2 Timothy 2:7; James 1:5; 2 Timothy 2:15
7. To Profit From Our Mistakes
• If we don’t profit from our mistakes we are
destined to repeat them. James 4:17
• The important key to be pleasing to God is
to recognize our mistakes and learn from
them. John 8:11
8. To Forgive And Forget
• Forgiveness is not an optional matter.
Luke 17:3-4
• God’s forgiveness is based on our
forgiveness of others. Matthew 6:14-15
– Jesus says, we must do it “from the
heart”.

9. To Be Kind And
Considerate Of Others
• Kindness is commanded. Eph. 4:32
• Its easy to be kind to those who are kind to
us. Phil. 2:5-8; Luke 6:35
• Everyone likes to be treated kindly.
Remember the “Golden rule”! Mt. 7:12
– Let us be kind to every one. Prov. 31:26
10. To Persevere In Good Works
• We must persevere in our efforts to do good
works.
Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while
doing good, for in due season we shall reap if
we do not lose heart.”
• A good person out of the good treasure in his
heart will bring forth good things. Mt. 12:35
• Let us always be ready to do good works.
