I possess a B.sc degree in Accountancy from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, and an Associate
Chartered Accountant (ACA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
I have been working in the development sector for the past six (6) years in different capacities
specifically finance, Grant and Contract, Administration, Compliance and Control, etc. This has given
me an in-depth knowledge of USG and other international organizations’ policies, guidelines and
regulations governing Grant, accounting, compliance, control and Administration.
I currently work as the Finance Analyst with Save the Children International, Abuja, where I support
SCI Nigeria Country program compliance with Save the Children’s accounting policy, donor
requirements and generally accepted accounting principles through the development and
implementation of financial policies and procedures. I am also responsible for ensuring that accurate,
complete and reliable financial information is maintained in the Country program financial system,
alongside effective control procedures I work with the team in establishing and implementing short
and long-range departmental goals, objectives, and work plans; I incorporate the highest standard of
donor requirements into country office accounting process; and I am also responsible for Budget vs
Actual Reviews with budget-holders.
I worked as Grants and Financial Analyst with Management Sciences for Health Abuja, where I was
responsible for all financial analysis and budgeting across all the five projects we managed. I also
supported a range of grantees implementing the projects intervention programs across 26 states in
Nigeria.
I also worked as an Accounts /Finance Officer with UKaid/DFID funded Support to National Malaria
Program (SuNMaP) in Awka, Anambra State, where I was responsible for all financial transactions of
the program.
Furthermore, I have attended USAID/CDC funded trainings on Leadership Development, Proposal
Development, Finance and Grant Management, as well as webinars and round table discussion with
InsideNGO. I have also been trained on donor rules and regulations with DFID, ECHO,

USAID/OFDA, UNICEF, FAO, DRF, as well as private sector donors with BMGF, RB, J&J,
UNILEVER, GSK, P&G, etc.
I have thorough knowledge on budget development, execution and analysis; including technical
procedures and methods of budgeting, computing and reporting for financial programs over the last
five (5) years.
I am familiar with a variety of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and
PowerPoint, SPSS, AMS, QuickBooks, PS Financial and Aggressor Financials. I also have a thorough
knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as Save the Children
finance policies and procedures.
I am fluent in speaking, reading and writing English Language.

Finance Analyst August 2015
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Accounting, Reporting, and Control
 Manage the Country Office financial systems and provide the manager with feedback on the budget
variance analysis and lead the monthly finance meetings with various budget holders.
 Submit timely financial reports to Centre, Regional Office and donors as required
 Ensure that effective systems are put in place, and regularly reviewed, to allow adequate financial
management and controls including:
o Accounting and management information systems;
o Cash and cash flow management and control in particular gain/losses on currency exchange;
o Financial procedures during emergency responses, including meeting all relevant
responsibilities in the Rules and Principles for Emergency Response;
o Expenditure procedures, especially around procurement;
o Documentation of all controls and procedures;
o Finance training for staff in the field and partners as necessary;
 Monitor accurate and timely submission of financial reports and attachments to members, donors and
government regulatory agencies
 Coordinate submission of control reports, respond to findings and recommend resolutions or action
plans
 Participate in the development of finance policies and procedures to be able to maintain a well-
financially controlled environment in both development and emergency contexts
 Coordinate and assist SFM/ FD during any internal or external audits
Planning and Budgeting
 Assist the SFM/FD in supporting the management /administration of the Country Office resources and
its sub-offices including (a) the formulation of country work program and resource allocation, (b)
providing effective support and guidance to the Senior Management Team and other key program staff
during planning and allocation exercises; (c) monitoring implementation of donor agreements and
resource utilization. Highlight variances, provide analyses and recommend resolution or reallocation of
resources.
 Participate in the Identification and effective management of all key risks, especially financial, related
to delivering the Country Office program.

 Ensure correct level of budget authority exists within Country Office.
 Support the SFM/FD in management of financial aspects of budget development for new proposals
 Ensure budget holders understand their responsibilities (e.g., through training).
 Ensure sub-offices receive adequate support to operate efficient accounting systems, including timely
receipt of monthly budget variance analysis by budget holders, timely answers to queries and
scheduling tasks and deadlines.
 Support country annual planning (CAP) process and Master budget development and reporting.
 Support FM in ensuring enforcement of Financial Compliance and management at all levels within
country program.
 Support on member and donor relationships including financial compliance, management and
reporting.
 Support the development and periodic revisions of the SCI Master Budget and annual/periodical
projections of expenditures and funds in coordination with Awards, PDQ and the rest of the finance
team.
 Work with senior management to ensure that a meaningful suite of reports and analysis is developed
in order to enable a thorough understanding of the current position and support forward planning and
decision making. These will include a top line reporting system by area, a master budget and funding
gap analysis by area.
 Build strong relationships with all stakeholders on budget realignments, revisions and rephrasing where
required.
 Ensure that the thematic, cross thematic and operational cost of donor budgets are accurate, well
developed, phased correctly and are available for uploading into the financial system in a timely fashion.
 Ensure that all budgets are entered into the financial system Aggressor and phased correctly.
 Develop and tailor budget templates, tools, and justifiable costing strategies in accordance with SCI
policy.
Award Management
 Support completion of financial reports for awards/contracts. Ensure proper accounting and closing of
books upon receipt of completed reports and documents from various sub-offices.
 Coordinate the release of donor fund summaries from the members to ensure accurate and systematic
accounting of grant transactions.
 Provide guidance to finance and non-finance staff and coordinate efforts to ensure compliance with
donor requirements.
 Work with budget holders to estimate funds request on a timely basis to ensure resources are in place
for carrying project activities.
 Ensure Country Office treasury operations are adequately managed.
 Ensure timely and accurate information is provided through Award Management systems.
 Oversee and monitor sub grantees/ grants as required per SC policies and procedures.
 Develop sub-grantees through training and capacity building.
 Ensure that donor financial reports and additive reports align.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 Prepare and analyze monthly management financial reports such as accruals reports,
expenditure reports, quarterly finance page for project quarterly reports, annual PEPFAR
expenditure report for donor, and other ad hoc reports. Additionally, there are monthly
reports to prepare such as advance monitoring, etc.
 Monitor monthly expenditures against work plan, budget and obligation for all projects.

 Develop new and effective techniques and templates for financial monitoring.
 Keep up with the latest trends and techniques in the field of financial and management
analysis.
 Coordinating with the management to help them to understand the reports and interpretations
and to use data in decision-making.
 Collaborates with Data Systems Specialist to assist program teams to prepare annual work
plans and budgets using work plan database budgeting tools and help teams to monitor their
plans and will also develop annual project budgets.
 Help to issue, evaluate and manage grants to NGOs, FBOs, and CBOs ensuring that all
necessary guidelines and regulations are followed.
 Provide budgeting support to all projects as directed by the Contracts & Grants Manager.
 Evaluate and monitor local grants with Contracts & Grants Manager, and support grant
recipients' financial and operations systems as needed.

4. Support to National Malaria Programme- SuNMaP (UKaid/DFID funded Programme)

I also supported a range of grantees implementing the projects intervention programs across 26 states in Nigeria. I also worked as an Accounts /Finance Officer with UKaid/DFID funded Support to National Malaria Program (SuNMaP) in Awka, Anambra State, where I was responsible for all financial transactions of the program. WORK EXPERIENCES 1. Save the Children International Finance Analyst August 2015 RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Accounting, Reporting, and Control  Manage the Country Office financial systems and provide the manager with feedback on the budget variance analysis and lead the monthly finance meetings with various budget holders.  Submit timely financial reports to Centre, Regional Office and donors as required  Ensure that effective systems are put in place, and regularly reviewed, to allow adequate financial management and controls including: o Accounting and management information systems; o Cash and cash flow management and control in particular gain/losses on currency exchange; o Financial procedures during emergency responses, including meeting all relevant responsibilities in the Rules and Principles for Emergency Response; o Expenditure procedures, especially around procurement; o Documentation of all controls and procedures; o Finance training for staff in the field and partners as necessary;  Monitor accurate and timely submission of financial reports and attachments to members, donors and government regulatory agencies  Coordinate submission of control reports, respond to findings and recommend resolutions or action plans  Participate in the development of finance policies and procedures to be able to maintain a well- financially controlled environment in both development and emergency contexts  Coordinate and assist SFM/ FD during any internal or external audits Planning and Budgeting  Assist the SFM/FD in supporting the management /administration of the Country Office resources and its sub-offices including (a) the formulation of country work program and resource allocation, (b) providing effective support and guidance to the Senior Management Team and other key program staff during planning and allocation exercises; (c) monitoring implementation of donor agreements and resource utilization. Highlight variances, provide analyses and recommend resolution or reallocation of resources.  Participate in the Identification and effective management of all key risks, especially financial, related to delivering the Country Office program.
  • 4. 4  Ensure correct level of budget authority exists within Country Office.  Support the SFM/FD in management of financial aspects of budget development for new proposals  Ensure budget holders understand their responsibilities (e.g., through training).  Ensure sub-offices receive adequate support to operate efficient accounting systems, including timely receipt of monthly budget variance analysis by budget holders, timely answers to queries and scheduling tasks and deadlines.  Support country annual planning (CAP) process and Master budget development and reporting.  Support FM in ensuring enforcement of Financial Compliance and management at all levels within country program.  Support on member and donor relationships including financial compliance, management and reporting.  Support the development and periodic revisions of the SCI Master Budget and annual/periodical projections of expenditures and funds in coordination with Awards, PDQ and the rest of the finance team.  Work with senior management to ensure that a meaningful suite of reports and analysis is developed in order to enable a thorough understanding of the current position and support forward planning and decision making. These will include a top line reporting system by area, a master budget and funding gap analysis by area.  Build strong relationships with all stakeholders on budget realignments, revisions and rephrasing where required.  Ensure that the thematic, cross thematic and operational cost of donor budgets are accurate, well developed, phased correctly and are available for uploading into the financial system in a timely fashion.  Ensure that all budgets are entered into the financial system Aggressor and phased correctly.  Develop and tailor budget templates, tools, and justifiable costing strategies in accordance with SCI policy. Award Management  Support completion of financial reports for awards/contracts. Ensure proper accounting and closing of books upon receipt of completed reports and documents from various sub-offices.  Coordinate the release of donor fund summaries from the members to ensure accurate and systematic accounting of grant transactions.  Provide guidance to finance and non-finance staff and coordinate efforts to ensure compliance with donor requirements.  Work with budget holders to estimate funds request on a timely basis to ensure resources are in place for carrying project activities.  Ensure Country Office treasury operations are adequately managed.  Ensure timely and accurate information is provided through Award Management systems.  Oversee and monitor sub grantees/ grants as required per SC policies and procedures.  Develop sub-grantees through training and capacity building.  Ensure that donor financial reports and additive reports align. 2. 3. Management Sciences for Health Nigeria Country Office Management Unit (COMU) Grants and Financial Analyst August 2013 RESPONSIBILITIES  Prepare and analyze monthly management financial reports such as accruals reports, expenditure reports, quarterly finance page for project quarterly reports, annual PEPFAR expenditure report for donor, and other ad hoc reports. Additionally, there are monthly reports to prepare such as advance monitoring, etc.  Monitor monthly expenditures against work plan, budget and obligation for all projects.
