Hazard no: 1 Risk Factor (1-5): 5
Description Alcohol/Drugs:
As our music video surrounds the theme of youth and ‘delinquent’
behaviour, we intend to use props such as drugs and alcohol. This
hazard rates at a 5 and thus is one that needs precaution taken upon.
Person(s) exposed
(detail if cast/crew (C),
outside company (O) or
public (P) )
The cast of A Young Understanding will be exposed to the props of
drugs and alcohol as they will the the ones using the props and
acting with them. The cast may also be exposed to drugs and alcohol
as they may also have to handle them between shots. Further, as we
are to be filming in a public place, such as the park, there may be
children/pedestrians in the surrounding area when filming.
Action to take Instead of using real drugs and alcohol we will use fake ‘prop’
drugs/alcohol, by taking alcohol bottles and filling them with water, or
using fake tablets in place of drugs. We will make sure all actors that
are to be seen using any alcohol/drugs are over the age of 18 and
have full permission to be filmed. In order to avoid any pedestrians or
children being exposed to any prop drugs/alcohol we will film these
shots between the hours of 9am-3pm in order to ensure any children
will be at school - if there are other members of the public at the park
we will inform them that we are filming.

Hazard no: 4 Risk Factor (1-5): 5
Description Camera Equipment:
We will be using camera equipment when filming each shot at the
park this could be a potential hazard due to the fact that those
exposed to any equipment may trip over any wires and any electronic
equipment has the potential to break/electrocute those using. As this
hazard rates at a 5 it is one we must take precaution on.
Person(s) exposed
(detail if cast/crew (C),
outside company (O) or
public (P) )
All cast and crew of A Young Understanding will be exposed to any
camera equipment when filming. As we are filming in a public place
(the park) members of the public and potentially children may be
exposed to any camera equipment used.
4. Action to take In order to ensure there are no accidents surrounding the camera
equipment used in a public area we will keep the equipment to a
minimum, using simply a camera and filming ‘hand held’ syle shots -
this will minimise all potential dangers (e.g wires, tripods, lighting) as
we will be filming between the hours of 9am-3pm to avoid school
children, the natural light will work in place of any electronic lighting
equipment. Further, all cast and crew will be made aware of the
equipment we are to bring on set (a digital camera) - if there are to be
any pedestrians at the park they will be informed that we will be
filming and to avoid our equipment.

Hazard no: 3 Risk Factor (1-5): 3
Description Audiences:
As we are to be filming in a public area (the park) we may be
exposed to members of the public - this may include elderly people or
children. It is important that we take precaution to any members of
the public in order to avoid potential dangers.
Person(s) exposed
(detail if cast/crew (C),
outside company (O) or
public (P) )
All cast and crew of A Young Understanding may be exposed to
audiences when filming. As we are filming in a public place (the park)
this means that we face the potential of an audience.
Action to take In order to avoid an audience becoming a hazard to our filming
process the action we intend on taking is to film between the hours of
9am-3pm this is in order to avoid school children. Any members of
the public that we do face when filming will be informed of our filming
and asked to avoid certain areas/actors in order to avoid any
distractions.

Description Smoking On Set:
As our music video surrounds the theme of youth and ‘delinquent’
behaviour, we intend to use props such as cigarettes. This hazard
rates at a 3 and thus is one that needs precaution taken upon.
