2. Articles
■ My articles in my magazine are going to be based around locations and the top places
to visit in Anglesey. On my double page spread I will concentrate on one location and
write about its history, and what activities there are to do at this certain location. The
main location I will focus on in my magazine is southstack. Southstcak will also feature
on my front cover and the dominant image. I will also feature other locations that you
can visit and that I have researched into and taken photos of.
3. Images
■ When taking my photos I did not need a model
as it mainly focuses on the location and the
nature of Anglesey. When at each of my
locations I took multiple different photos from
different angles to make sure that I got the
perfect picture. On my front cover I want to use
a picture from south stack as this will be my
main featured article on my double page
spread. The photo will allow me to place my
magazine name and will also let me place a
cover line and typical conventions of a
magazine like a barcode, issue number and the
date.
4. Layout- magazine
■ I want my layout for my magazine to be very simple and modern. As I have a younger
target audience it is important for my magazine to look modern. I don’t want to have
much writing featured on my front cover as I think it will take the attention away from
the dominant image. I want to feature typical codes and conventions of a magazine
like a barcode, issue number and the date on my front cover.
■ For my contents page I want to have 9 images that will represent the main pages in my
magazine. Below the pictures I will have page numbers and a brief description about
what each page is about
■ On my double page spread I want to have a main image on the left side of the page
and then 3 smaller images on the right just below the main heading, and then below
this will feature my article about southstack.
5. Layout- billboard
■ I want to keep the modern theme throughout all of my products. When creating my
billboard I want to keep it simple with little writing however use a picture that will grab
my audiences attention. I want to make sure that the name of my magazine is also
featured on my billboard to advertise my brand. I am also going to create a logo which
links my website , billboard and magazine all together. The main feature of my
billboard will be the dominant image.
6. Layout- website
■ When creating my website I want to make sure that it is very modern and features a
monochrome colour scheme. My website has to link to my billboard and magazine so I
want to make sure that it has a simple and easy layout for my audience. I also wan to
feature a photo gallery, the top ten places to visit in Anglesey and a contact page so
that my audience can contact me.This will also include social media as I have a
younger audience who are more interconnected with social media.
7. Fonts
■ I want to use the same fonts throughout my magazine, billboard and my website. I
have chosen six photos that fit in with my overall theme and are simple. I will use the
same font throughput all of my products for the name of my magazine. I also wanted
to make sure that my fonts would stand out from my photos especially in my
magazine, I will do this by using a white font and making it bold.
8. Colour scheme
■ Throughout all of my final products I want to
have a monochrome colour scheme as I think it
is modern and does not aim towards one
specific gender. I think that by using a grey
monochrome colour scheme it will also make
my photos stand out to my audience, as I will
not be using bright colours.
9. Mise-en-scene
■ I took many different photos in many different locations in Anglesey. I went to
different, landmarks, beach's and took photos of nature. I took my photos from
different angles, for example I took close up, mid and long shots a lot of the time.
Especially when I went to southstack as I knew I wanted to feature the lighthouse on
my front cover.
■ It was hard to control the lighting when taking my photos as a lot of it was natural
lighting as the majority of my locations were outside so I couldn’t guarantee what the
lighting was going to be like.
■ I didn’t use any models within my photos so I didn’t need to research into hair, makeup
and costumes.
