1. Guidelines to students
MUSEUM EDUCATION GAME AT THE MUSEUM OF GREEK REFUGEES AND THE MUNICIPAL LIBRARY OF NEAPOLIS
1st Group: Library
Seek out and record three (3) poetry collections (preferably, written by Mavilis, Palamas, Solomos, Sikelianos, Seferis, Elitis, or Ritsos). In each one of the
three (3) collections find a poem that presents Greek nature and visualize it. You can ask for permission to use a library computer to complete the activity or
use your home computer. Your work will be assessed by your classmates when you present it in class next week.
2nd Group: Exhibition of antiquarian books at the Museum of Greek Refugees
Seek out and record school textbooks in the collection of antiquarian books at the Museum of Greek Refugees. Get permission to take pictures (no flash
photography, please) and create a multimodal presentation (PowerPoint). You may use a camera or your mobile phone and your home computer. Your work
will be assessed by your classmates when you present it in class next week.
3rd Group: Museum of Greek Refugees
Seek out, photograph, and create a multimodal presentation (PowerPoint) on museum exhibits that have to do with Greek nature or are tools that were used
in nature (e.g. agricultural tools, etc). Get permission to take pictures (no flash photography, please). You may use a camera or your mobile phone and your
home computer. Your work will be assessed by your classmates when you present it in class next week.
4th Group: Museum of Greek Refugees
Prepare a semi-structured questionnaire on the Museum of Greek Refugees and interview the founder and president of the Museum of Greek Refugees, Mr.
K. Nigdelis. Record the interview digitally and create a presentation (PowerPoint) with pictures of Mr. Nigdelis and the Museum. Get permission to take
pictures (no flash photography, please) and record the interview. You may use a camera or your mobile phone, a recording device, and your home computer.
Your work will be assessed by your classmates when you present it in class next week.
5th Group: Museum of Greek Refugees, Municipal Library, Auditoria
Photograph the postcards (museum), the newspapers in the newspaper collection as they are exhibited in their frames (1st auditorium), and the paintings
(2nd auditorium). Create a multimodal presentation (PowerPoint) with the material you have collected and captions for each picture. Ask Mr. Nigdelis for
information and take notes on each picture to mention during your presentation. Get permission to take pictures (no flash photography, please). You may use
a camera or your mobile phone and your home computer. Your work will be assessed by your classmates when you present it in class next week.
