This document outlines a presentation on evaluating whether communication skills training realizes its aims. It describes using a project-based approach focusing on listening, speaking, and independent/group projects with no textbook. Materials included TED talks, videos on skills like note-taking, and news articles. Evaluation was both quantitative via a feedback form and qualitative via open-ended questions. Quantitative results found most students agreed the course improved their skills and abilities. Qualitatively, students reported learning language skills from presentations and collaboration/organization from group work. While some found activities boring, most saw benefits from integrating 21st century skills into language learning.
