Listening as Real Teaching” by Carol Ann Tomlinson (Ed.
Leadership, Nov. 2014, pp. 90-91).
• Discuss the boy’s comment about his teacher at the end of
the article. What connections can you make to this comment?
• When your group has finished discussing, go back to your
Active Listening chart and reflect on whether you were active
listeners.

Share a personal narrative about yourself either as an audio or video file. Keep it
under 2 minutes. (e.g. My narrative might be a quick story about growing up with a father
who was a principal and mother who was a teacher. My memories are about
privilege. You may write a paragraph, use the podcasting tools from last week, or create a
short video.
