Title: Echoes by Beatenberg
Group Members: Airidas Cironka, Alehkem Copeland, Josh Burman
and Mandisi Sibanda
Job roles:
- Producer (he who makes sure everything is in order on and off
the set)
- Director (Its his vision that we follow, he is in charge of what is
getting filmed)
- Editor (Is tasked with putting all the footage together to create a
finished peace)
- Camera Man (he has to do his job of getting all the shots done
with the correct angles)
Content: An emotional video following an individual person as they
walk around the woods letting of steam. We will try and avoid using
any content that may be taken offensive in any manner. “Echoes,” is
the latest track from the Cape Town pop trio Beatenberg plays like
the soundtrack to a teenage soul-searching montage in a classic 90s
flick – and we like it a lot. Matthew Field, lead singer, guitarist and
songwriter says of Echoes: “The chorus is about wanting
immortality, and about writing songs, and about putting one’s self
into another person, or imagining doing so.” The sound of waves
and birds at the beach were recorded in Plettenberg bay, a popular
holiday spot on the southeastern coast of South Africa. 90s
soundtrack music may be the newest movement out of Cape Town.
What you will be seeing during the process of this video is the
journey of a young man as he tries to discover himself.
Purpose: Make a slow yet effective music video about someone who
feels alone and trapped and wants his voice to be heard.
Screening and distribution: Filming will begin as soon as possible
in school, after school because we need an empty school in order to
film. This product will be most likely viewed on TV or online.
Target Audience: Teenagers and adults commuting to school or
work, this is a thinking song. (Ages 15-40)
2. Legal and Ethical Consideration: Copyright might be an issue as
this song belongs to the South African band Beatenberg. While
people who suffer from depression might take this in the wrong
context.
Resource Required and Justification: We will need a woodlands
area to film in because we have came up with a concept that
requires a person to be walking around the woods while singing are
song as it creates a feeling of emptiness and sympathy towards the
character in the video, while also giving natural feel to the video as
he will be interacting with nature.
