4. o Visual merchandising can be defined as everything the customer sees, both exterior and interior, that creates
a positive image of a business and results in attention, interest, desire and action on the part of the customer
o Visual merchandising also includes determining in-store traffic flow patterns to calculate the best places to
put displays so the greatest number of people will see them
o The purpose of visual merchandizing is to display the product in a way that's visually appealing to the
prospective customer and inducing them to buy it.
o Eighty percent of our impressions are created by sight; that is why one picture is worth a thousand words.
Each customer has a mental image of a store and its merchandise. A store should have an inviting
appearance that makes the customer feel comfortable and yet eager to buy.
o The sole purpose is to reach out to the customer and making a statement about the product and the brand

interest and invite people into the store to purchase goods. There is less than 11

be the result of a good window display.
