INT. SCHOOL ENTRANCE - MORNING
Kieran is waiting in the school entrance for his teacher to
welcome him and begin showing him to his classes. In the
background there are students walking by to get to their
classes and there is a quite chatter amongst them.
From the background a student comes forward and stands
facing Kieran:
REECE
(Interested)
Are you new?
KIERAN
(Bored and disinterested)
Yeah.
Reece snickers and pushes/taunts Kieran
Kieran turns to Reece and shoves him back, knocking Reece
slightly, making him need to rebalance. Reece glares at
Kieran but Kieran scrunches up his fists in anger.
KIERAN
(Angry)
What do YOU want from me?
REECE
(Laughing)
Mate, calm down. Only having a joke
with the new kid.
KIERAN
(Gritting teeth as anger
increases)
I am not in the mood for a joke,
(sarcastically) 'mate'.
Reece turns away to walk back in the direction he came,
sniggers loudly for Kieran to hear.
KIERAN
(Fuming)
OI.
Reece turns around to see Kieran stomping up to him. Before
Reece can react, Kieran swings a punch and knocks Reece flat
on the floor. Everyone stops and gasps, and two girls rush
over.
LAUREN
(to Kieran)
What the HELL was that for? Reece
(MORE)

LAUREN (CONT'D)
is a decent guy!
KIERAN
(to Lauren and the other girl,
guiltily)
Hey, he was asking for it, being
all up in my face like that. All I
wanted was to start and new school
and not get into any more...
LAUREN
Any more what?
KIERAN
Forget it. (Walks off)
Kieran walks off in the direction Reece came from, leaving
Reece on the floor with the two girls going to kneel down
next to him, shaking him so he can gain consciousness again.
INT. PRINCIPLE'S OFFICE - MOMENTS LATER
Kieran is sitting in a chair on the other side of the
Principle's desk, waiting for her to arrive. He is keeping
himself occupied by morphing his face into different
animals.
There is a knock at the door (cuts to door from Kieran), and
he looks around to see Reece, with a black eye and he
hobbles in and towers over Kieran.
KIERAN
(rising out of his chair)
(Anxious)
Look, mate, I'm sorry about before,
it got out of hand, I've had a
rough past with bullying and
that...
REECE
Nah, forget it. (laughs) I'm Reece.
KIERAN
Kieran.
REECE
We cool? Sorry I was an idiot,
couldn't help myself. I'm pretty
new myself, moved here from Seattle
with my parents and dog, Chester,
just a few months ago.

KIERAN
Yeah we're fine. (interested)
Seattle huh? What made you move?
REECE
(Looks to the floor in
embaressment)
Just some stuff you wouldn't
understand, nobody would.
KIERAN
(Confused)
Oh, OK. Sorry for asking.
