FADE IN:
ACT 1, SCENE 1
It is autumn/winter in the south of England in the new
forest in 2015 and the Nelson family (mum, dad, brother and
sister) are just clearing up the kitchen from dinner and
their teenage daughter is off to get ready for bed.
MEGANS’S MUM
Megan why don’t you go and get ready for
bed?
MEGAN
Ok I’ll just go now
MEGAN’S MUM
Goodnight
MEGAN
Night
ACT 1, SCENE 2
The next scene is in the bathroom where Megan (teenage
daughter/ main character) is in her pajamas, brushing her
teeth, wiping make up off and washing her face. She then
goes into her room, plugs her phone in, turns her light off
and gets into bed. Just like a typical family with nothing
out of the ordinary.
MEGAN
(Brushes teeth, hair, washes face and
heads out of bathroom towards her
bedroom)-diegetic sounds of the scene
ACT 1, SCENE 3
As she shut her eyes the screen then goes black and you
hear a high pitched been sound (flat line sound) and you
hear the parents frantically/hysterically shouting in the
background for a few seconds.
MEGAN’S PARENTS TOGETHER
Megan are you ok? Wake up wake up

ACT 2, SCENE 1
Then the screen will be a POV shot of eyelids slowly
opening and blinking like she is just waking up and in the
background, in French different parents are saying to the
teenage girl frantically…
AMÉLIE’S PARENTS TOGETHER
Amélie wake up! Are you ok? Wake up!
then from a POV shot she sits up and looks at her hands,
her pyjamas, parents and room and realises she is not the
same person and it an unknown place so is very confused
(this is shown visually not verbally).
ACT 2, SCENE 2
She then looks towards her bedside table and pics up a
photo frame to see a family picture with writing on it
saying “happy birthday Amélie, love mum and dad” in French.
This scares her so she jumps out of bed and rushes towards
a mirror that she sees on the other side of her room and is
then scared and frightened when she doesn’t see herself
that she knows looking back at her.
ACT 3, SCENE 1
The parents soon leave the room when they realise that she
is ok
AMÉLIE’S MUM
We will see you in the kitchen in a minute
for breakfast darling
ACT 3, SCENE 2
As soon as they close the door to her room she rushes out
her bed and to her desk and opens her laptop and
frantically searches for her parents and family online, she
is soon shocked to discover that the her that she knew had
died tragically and unexpectedly in her sleep 5 years ago.
She then frantically searchers for her current location in
google and is shocked to see that she is far from home in
south France. She then hears her parents shouting from
another room.
AMÉLIE’S PARENTS TOGETHER
Amelie are you coming for breakfast?

Then as she has finally come to the realization that she
has to accept her new life and walks towards the bedroom
door she spots the year on the calendar as 2020. And the
final shot is her walking out of the bedroom and the door
closing behind her.
