2. My Proposal
• I have chosen the brief of creating a music video.
I decided to create the video to a song called
‘Cough Cough’ by a band called Everything
Everything.
• The band are a British Indie band that formed in
late 2007. The band consists of four male
members.
3. Lyrics
• The lyrics to the song mainly portray war and
pollution as well as showing people rioting, the
police and fire. Other clips include
fire, scrunched up video tape and money.
• In my video I will not be following the same
route as the band. My video won’t include
anything about war or pollution, mainly just
clips contrasting with the lyrics and random
shots to appeal to my audience.
4. Members
• As I am directing, filming and editing my music
video I will not be starring in it.
• I only have one member in my music video as
this was all I needed to produce the video I
wanted.
• The star of my music video is my eight year old
sister Teagan. I asked her to be in it and she
kindly agreed.
5. Storyline
• I decided that I didn't’t want a structured
narrative in my music video as it wouldn't’t fit
with the song I have chosen.
• Instead I chose to focus more on a concept
based music video. I thought that this was the
best structure for my video.
• I wanted to portray a young girl who in parts of
the video looked sweet and innocent. However
in other parts, mainly the fast, edgy cuts she
looks more sinister and evil.
6. Target Audience
• The intended audience for my music video is
for people between the age of 15 and 40.
This is because I feel that the content that is
going to be in my video would reach out
more to this age group because of the music
genre.
• I don't think that it will be suitable for
anybody under the age of 15 due to the
themes involved and an older audience
wouldn't normally listen to this particular
genre of music.
7. Location
• In my music video I have used many
locations that fit with my structure.
• The places that I have used are Cannock
Chase, my garden, around my house and
my nans house.
